YES! Our wedding will have an OPEN BAR. It will also be heavily photographed and any drunken shenanigans will be mocked for years to come. Please proceed with caution ;)
What is the dress code for wedding day?
If you are not part of the wedding party it's semi formal coat and tie for the gentlemen and summer semi-formal for the ladies. For ladies we kindly request that you refrain from wearing all white or ivory on the day of the wedding.
What is the dress code for the rehearsal dinner?
Cocktail attire: Khakis and button down shirts for the men and summer dresses for ladies. Ladies please refrain from wearing all white or ivory dresses. Thank you!
Can I bring a friend or a date?
For some of our guests we are close friends and know your significant other well in which case we have invited you and your guest (you can RSVP for them on our website under your name). We kindly request that only the people on your invite (and names/guests included on the online RSVP) attend. We are opting to keep our wedding small and intimate inviting those we feel closest too. Additionally we have a prefixed menu and will not be able to accommodate last minute invites. If there is someone you would like to bring along please contact Maddie or Scott prior. Please note: weddings require lots of preplanning and we may not be able to accommodate extra invites. Thanks for your understanding!
Can I bring my kid?
We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! We kindly request that children not included on your invite not accompany you to our wedding.
Do I have to stay at the Hotel du Pont?
No! You may stay where ever you like! We will have transportation from the hotel to the church and then to Maddie's house for the reception. You are welcome to meet at the hotel in order to make the provided transportation otherwise you are responsible for your own transportation to and from events. Parking is available at the Callahan's Home and Brad du Pont's home.
If I am driving myself where should I park?
You may park on the street/parking lot outside St. Ann's Church. Valet parking will be available at the Callahan house starting at 3:30pm prior to the cocktail hour and at 9:00pm at the close of the reception. If you have any specific questions please contact Jennifer Callahan.
If I am coming from far away what airport should I use?
We suggest flying into the Philadelphia airport. Another option is Baltimore but this one is a further drive.
I would like to rent a car any recommendations?
We suggest Turo! In our opinion it's the easiest way to rent a car. You can pick it up at the airport too. It's an app like Air B and B but for cars.
I would like to bring a gift not on the registry is this ok?
First of all, thank you! Scott and Maddie will be moving shortly after their wedding which is why for their registry they are opting for funds to support experiences on their honeymoon instead in an effort to limit the amount of items they have to move. Of course if you have something else you would like to gift you are welcome to do so.
What’s the crest’s story?
Many weddings have chests with initials or another type of logo. Since both the du Pont family and Callahan family have a family crest Maddie used her creativity to make a combined crest for the special day! The Callahan crest is incorporated on the left with the wolf coming out of the woods and the du Pont column is featured on the right. The flowers are hydrangeas (Maddie’s favorite) and Calla Lilies (Scott’s favorite).
