Madi and Raz return to the Virginia Tech campus for their junior year in Chemical Engineering. After joining the same study group and getting to know Madi as a friend, Raz decided to take a risk and send Madi roses for her birthday. Quickly after this bold move, the two started spending every minute together. They would frequently go on dates at a secret spot off-campus, where they would watch the sunset while sitting on swings underneath a large oak tree. Raz gifted Madi this painted canvas for their first anniversary.

Soon after the two showed interest in one another, Raz asked Madi to be his girlfriend (wow, such courage!). The first trip they took together was to Wintergreen, where they have a fond memory of getting stuck in a downpour while hiking.

After the short winter break, the two came back to school to face their toughest semester in college yet. During this time, Madi would often wait until the night before an exam to begin studying and somehow still get better grades than Raz (still a mystery to him)! During study breaks, they could be found brunching it up at their favorite local restaurant (Our Daily Bread), attending football tailgates, or playing darts at Hokie House.

During their summer abroad, Madi and Raz studied at the Technical University of Denmark together. They put their relationship to the test by choosing to be lab partners. Safe to say they had true chemistry together :)

After their summer lab, Madi got to visit Romania, where she met Raz's extended family and explored the local castle in Hunedoara, Raz's hometown.

Before starting their full time jobs, Madi and Raz had the opportunity to go on a volunteer trip to the beautiful country of Peru. During their time there, they helped with rainforest preservation projects in the Amazon, built out infrastructure in remote mountain villages, and tried guinea pig for the first time! They also got to experience Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, together.

Raz has been very supportive of Madi's love for international travel and the two have already visited over 10 countries together. During their trip to Thailand, Madi almost had a heart attack after Raz got his first tattoo.

Ready to officially begin "adulting", the two move to Houston, TX to begin their careers.

After a year of living in Houston, they decided to add another member to the family, Benny, who is named after their favorite late night pizza place in Blacksburg.

Madi surprised Raz for his 26th birthday with a Tesla rental for the weekend. Maybe one day they will have one of their own!

Madi remains dedicated to find more space in their home to store Raz's evergrowing mug collection to support his coffee addiction. She sure loves him a latte! ;)

After surviving the humidity in Houston for over 3 years, Madi and Raz decided to take the leap to switch industries and move to Reno, Nevada. They now both work for Redwood Materials, a Lithium-ion Battery Recycling Startup.

Raz pulled off the perfect surprise and popped the big question in Galena Forest, surrounded by fresh snow and pine trees. The Reno / Tahoe area will now always be a special place to Madi and Raz. They are so elated to share this beautiful place with their closest friends and family to tie the knot!
