We met on our way to a soccer game for the league-champion law school team. Maria, a quick winger with one heck of a left foot, and me, the slow big bodied brute defender, had both gotten a ride from Kara and Chris. I was picked up first and Maria entered the car. I was just an awkward 1L who happened to get to hear all of Maria's struggles for that day.
As we continued to play soccer each week, I soon became Maria's ride, as we know that she can't be trusted to drive in snow, rain, or sunshine (ask her mother). We hung out more and more and eventually started dating and falling in love.

In the fall semester of my 3L year, we were starting up a new season of indoor soccer down in Bedford, NH. Keeping the environment and my carbon footprint in mind, I sent a Reply All email to the law school team to inquire about whether anyone wanted to carpool with me to the games. On October 26, 2020, one of the 1Ls responded to my inquiry, offering to carpool. I didn't see this reply, so I never responded. But nevertheless, this 1L persisted. He was determined. On October 27, 2020, he slid into my Facebook messages with Hey, did you find a carpool group? knowing that the answer was no. And the rest is history. He wooed me with his sleek Nissan Rogue and exceptional adult-league soccer skills, and continues to impress me with his eagerness to join me in all kinds of adventures, including hiking up 4000 Footer mountains, agreeing to get a second puppy, and then committing to waking up each morning before 6:00 AM to walk the puppy with me and Frankie.
Were looking forward to a lifetime of adventures together and we can't wait to celebrate with everyone at our wedding, which will be coincidentally the 4-year anniversary of the beginning of our story.
