Old Sturbridge Village

Old Sturbridge Village is a living museum located 1.6 miles from the venue. It recreates life in rural New England during the 1790s through 1830s and is the largest living museum in New England, covering more than 200 acres (81 hectares). The Village includes 59 antique buildings, three water-powered mills, and a working farm. Third-person costumed interpreters demonstrate and interpret 19th-century arts, crafts, and agricultural work. The museum is popular among tourists and for educational field trips.

Saturday and Sunday Morning Dog Walks

If you are bringing your dog, Matt will be walking Burt and Frankie from the parking lot of the Publick House at 7:00 AM Saturday morning, and Matt and Maria will be walking Burt and Frankie together at 7:00 AM Sunday morning, and you are welcome to join our pack walks. We kindly remind our guests bringing their dog to please pick up dog waste and keep dogs on leash when on the Publick House property.

The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame is an American history museum and hall of fame, located 37 miles from the venue. It serves as basketball's most complete library, in addition to promoting and preserving the history of basketball. Dedicated to Canadian-American physician James Naismith, who invented the sport in Springfield, the Hall of Fame inducted its first class in 1959, before opening its first facility on February 17, 1968.

Ebenezer's Tavern is another great dining spot at the Public House Historic Inn. It is open for lunch and dinner, with additional limited outdoor dining space. It is highly suggested to make reservations. Their hours are Monday-Thursday 12-7 PM, Friday-Saturday 12-8 PM & Sunday 12-5 PM.

Ebenezer’s Tavern was named after our founder and keeper of the Inn, Colonel Ebenezer Crafts, who entertained Revolutionary troops hearthside with culinary feasts and speciality drinks. As a tribute to the colonel, the atmosphere has maintained its 18th century ambiance adorning oversized wingback chairs, comfortable couches by the fireplace, and the vintage brass beer taps and rum barrels. Sample the jumbo crab cakes and home-made potato chips, or the Publick House's famous shepherd’s pie and old-fashioned chicken pot pie; generous portions are served up from their tavern-style menu.
