We are not doing plus 1s. We decided to keep the wedding guest list strictly close friends and family. This way we could have the best of both worlds-a lovely wedding with those we love and a good start to our future.
Is there a registry?
We are incredibly appreciative of the time and money you are spending to join us. Please do not feel obligated to get us anything.
If you did want to get us anything, you to know we love secondhand things! Marie is a huge advocate for thrifting!! If you have any of the below laying around your house or available second hand nearby-we'd love them.
-vintage corning ware
-linen/cotton napkins + small tablecloth (6'x8')
-Good quality non-stick pots/pans
-Blue Italian Spode dining/entertaining ware
-gold tone bar cart
-bakeware
-Kitschy European Christmas ornaments

Do I have to participate in every event?
There is no pressure to participate in every activity. You are more than welcome to stay back in the chateau/Maton family home. We have prepared a light day on Friday for guests to sleep off the Jetlag. Parents with babies are also more than welcome to feel out how many activities they feel up to in the moment. We just want to make sure everyone has a great time!
Do I need to know French to get around?
We have kept in mind the language barrier for most while planning this trip. Waze works in France and most people speak a little English. That being said it is polite to attempt a few words in French instead of talking at someone in English off the bat. Try to say Bonjour to someone before taking to them, even if your next sentence is "do you speak English?".
I have attached a few links to helpful videos.

A few points to note
Know that your phone plan will probably charge you to use data or text/make calls. You can call your provider if you need to buy a travel pass or just pay the rates in the moment. Most people just use Whatsapp to avoid this. You might want to pick up a universal power adapter to charge your phone. For hair tools you will most likely need to buy a voltage converting adapter (definitely for multi-temperature curling irons). Some people find over the counter Jetlag relief very helpful. Keep this in mind if you think you won't be able to sleep on the plane. Think about picking up euros in the States through your bank if possible. ATMS is the airport have aggreges fees. If you plan on just using your credit/debit card, make sure to call your bank to let them know you will be in the Southwest of France!
What do I wear?
Bring something formal for the church ceremony. Women-long dresses-think silky, floral, pastel, romantic, Mediterranean. Men- if you have a blue suit, pack it! Otherwise, pants and a jacket will do. Don't feel obligated to buy anything special. Make sure to bring a comfortable pair of shoes you wouldn't mind getting dirty (it is in the country). FYI athleisure is not as socially acceptable as it is here.
