What should I expect if I'm visiting Estes Park/Allenspark for the first time?

Estes Park and Allenspark are located at 7,522 feet above sea level. If you live at a lower elevation, you should begin hydrating well before your trip and continue to drink a lot of water while you're here. And remember: one alcoholic drink at elevation equals two alcoholic drinks at sea level! The highway between Denver and Estes Park is well-maintained but is a winding road and narrow at some points. The weather in Colorado in September is usually mild, but will likely get chilly when the sun goes down. Please prepare & pack accordingly so everyone can have a great experience visiting our wonderful Colorado!

Where should I stay?

See the Travel + Lodging tab for information on hotel blocks and recommendations. As noted on our save the dates, accommodations near Wild Basin Lodge are limited; book soon!

What should I wear to the wedding?

We are asking our guests to wear formal attire to our wedding. Women should opt for a floor-length, tea-length, or midi-length dress. A jumpsuit would also be appropriate. Men should wear a suit; ties are optional. Please wear comfortable shoes for a short walk to the ceremony location, and bring a light jacket as September in Colorado will be chilly after the sun goes down.

Can I bring a date?

Please check your invitation. We are only able to accommodate guests who are explicitly invited.

What time should I arrive for the wedding?

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 pm. We ask that guests arrive by 4:00 pm to grab a glass of bubbly and settle in before the ceremony starts.

How should I plan to get from Estes Park to the wedding venue?

Wild Basin Lodge is about a 20-minute drive from downtown Estes Park. For guests who choose to drive themselves, there is ample parking at the Lodge. We are also providing a shuttle service from the hotels where we have reserved room blocks; see the "Shuttles" tab for more information. Please note that mountain towns don't have Uber or Lyft, so those are not viable transportation options.
