Our Story

Welcome to Charlotte, North Carolina!

Charlotte, North Carolina, lovingly referred to as the "Queen City," is located in the North Carolina Piedmont region. It's found in Mecklenburg County, and almost 700,000 people call the city home. In the surrounding 100 miles around Charlotte, an additional 6.9 million people reside. Therefore, Charlotte is currently the sixth largest urban area in the United States. Its business and commercial opportunities, small-town feel, and plethora of extracurricular activities make Charlotte a desired place to live.

Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) serves as Charlotte's main airport for flights in and out of the city, and it is a hub for American Airlines. The airport is a short drive to hotels in SouthPark, the best area of town to stay for our wedding celebration. Please see below for hotel recommendations.

Some Charlotte Activities for While You're Visiting:

Bank of America Stadium is home to the Carolina Panthers, the NFL team for both North and South Carolina. Located in the heart of Charlotte, it becomes the city's main attraction every Sunday during football season.

The Charlotte Knights are the city's Triple-A baseball affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. Truist Stadium is in Uptown Charlotte, and it's easy and fun to attend games during the summer months.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame provides guests with immersive experiences and ever-changing displays to walk through the history of the racing sport.

The Mint Museum in Uptown Charlotte showcases international art and also provides live performances and educational programs for all ages.

Located 20 minutes outside the center of Charlotte, the U.S. National Whitewater Center is the world's premier outdoor facility featuring whitewater rafting, biking, zip lines, miles of hiking trails, live music, craft brews, and more. It also serves as the Olympic training facility for all whitewater sports.

Reverend Billy Graham is from Charlotte, and the Billy Graham Library is dedicated to the religious leader's life and teachings. The site holds Billy Graham's original home, and tours are provided.

Freedom Park is a 98-acre park located between Charlotte's historic Dilworth and Myers Park neighborhoods. The park is centered on a 7-acre lake and is about 3 miles from the heart of Charlotte's downtown area. It connects to the Charlotte Greenway, miles of paved path for walking, running, and biking.

Discovery Place Science is a science and technology museum for visitors of all ages located in the Uptown area of Charlotte, North Carolina. It has many wonderful exhibits and is perfect for kids and families.

Carowinds is a 407-acre amusement park, located adjacent to Interstate 77 in Charlotte, North Carolina. It's located along the North Carolina-South Carolina state line and is just south of the city.

SouthPark Mall is an upscale shopping mall in the affluent SouthPark neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. The mall is located approximately five miles south of Uptown Charlotte, at the corner of Sharon and Fairview Roads.

The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center houses the Belk Theater, Booth Playhouse, and Stage Door Theater. It's home to all things performing arts in Charlotte and has many events every season. During COVID, it has even offered virtual events.
