This is the year it all began (thanks, Hinge!). On our first date, over a rooftop dinner and cocktails, Michaela asked Amelia exactly what she was looking for. "Someone to build a life with," Amelia said. We didn't know it then, but we started building it that day. In 2022, we became girlfriends and fell madly in love. One of our favorite memories from this year was grabbing last-minute tickets to a Harry Styles concert.

You can blame 2023 for our decision to get married in Greece. This was the year we traveled there for the first time, along with Portugal and Spain. We also both started new jobs (Michaela became a small business liaison with the state and Amelia became an editor at San Diego Magazine) and moved into our first apartment together.

In 2024, we adopted three new pets: two kittens named Percy and Clementine and a snail (true story) named Gary. We also moved into a new apartment in our favorite San Diego neighborhood. Not to brag, but Michaela ran a half-marathon with Amelia and more family and friends cheering from the sidelines, and Amelia published her first book. Michaela spent the later part of the year planning an epic surprise proposal.

This one started on a high note: We became fiancées! Then the planning began. We celebrated with friends and family at a lovely engagement party hosted by the Howards and took a trip to Crete to check out our wedding venue. Amelia's mom attended all 12 (really) of her bridal-gown shopping appointments (she found one in the end!). Our cats turned 1 this year, and we had the opportunity to unwind at an amazing wellness retreat in Tecate, Mexico.

It's finally the year we become wives! 2026 kicked off with two epic bachelorette parties—Amelia and her bridesmaids headed to West Hollywood, while Michaela celebrated with family and friends in Temecula. Michaela landed a new job. Best of all, we get married in less than 120 days. See you all in Greece!
