What does Formal Wedding Attire mean?
The best description we've heard is that it's somewhere between cocktail and black tie. It's slightly more elevated than cocktail attire! Please keep in mind the ceremony (albeit, short) will be outside near the vineyards taking place in the middle of summer/mid-day so make sure your dresswear accounts for that. The last thing we would ever want is for anyone's health to be in any jeopardy due to the heat.
Any specific colour scheme?
Please wear whatever colour will bring you joy!
For those who are curious of the colour scheme of the wedding, you can expect to see a combination of white, gold, and the main accent colour being sky blue. The bridesmaids and the groomsmen will be in some combination of dark blue, sky blue, and greens. Of course, since it's a winery and vineyard, you can expect somewhat of a rustic ambience.
Mike and Kristy, Pelee Island Winery shows two places on Google Maps?
Please please please do NOT go to the Pelee ISLAND Winery Pavillion which is literally on Pelee Island and requires a ferry there. If you end up on a boat, please send for help.
Our venue, Pelee Island Winery, is in Kingsville at 455 Seacliff Dr, ON N9Y 2K5.
Is there a hotel block available?
Yessirree there is. Please see the "Hotel" page for all the details. The offered hotels with the promos are in Windsor, which are about 30 minutes away from the venue. A shuttle to and from the venue will be provided to ensure everyone gets home safely.
How can we get to the venue? Will transportation be provided?
If you choose either of the two hotels that we have provided a promotion for, the buses that we have arranged will pick up and drop off to and from the wedding.
When is the bus pick up and drop off?
Please note that the shuttle bus will be departing at set times. If you are running late to the shuttle, please inform someone on the bus to wait for you. Refer to "Travel" tab for shuttle information.
Is there parking available at the venue?
Yes, Pelee Island Winery has lots of free parking in the back for our reception. For a venue parking map (Expertly drawn by Mike), please refer to the "Travel" tab for a picture.
What time do I need to get to the ceremony by?
If all goes well, the ceremony will begin at 4:30 PM. We hope everyone will be seated and comfortable prior to that time. It is recommended to arrive by 4:00 PM.
I'm super punctual. Is there anything to do if I get to the venue early?
There will be lawn games for you to enjoy, vineyards to take photos in, and if you're really an over-achiever, you can check out the inside of the winery. But the important thing is that you are seated before the ceremony starts at 4:30 PM.
Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors?
Weather permitting, the ceremony will be outdoors. We have an indoor plan if the day's weather does not unfold well. Cocktail hour will be both indoor and outdoor. Reception and the dancing will be indoors.
All guests will have access to a beautiful outdoor balcony lounge area all night.
What type of food and drink will be served during the cocktail hour and reception?
We'll be serving hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour, followed by a four-course family style dinner (salad, pasta, two proteins) and dessert and cake. Vegetarian and Gluten free options available. (Please note this on your RSVP form.) Open bar, all day and all night!
