What is the best way to RSVP?

What date should I RSVP by?
Please RSVP by September 1, 2024.
Am I allowed to bring my children?
We kindly request this to be an adults-only celebration with the exception of family. Thank you for your understanding.
What are the addresses of the wedding ceremony and reception venues?
Both the wedding ceremony and reception will take place at The Shop DSM located at 901 Cherry Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50309.
What is the easiest way to get to and from your wedding venue(s)?
If arriving from Interstate 235, it is best to use Exit 8A, Keosauqua Way, then turn right on to 9th street. Follow 9th until you reach the venue.
Where do guests park?
There is a parking garage across the street at 8th and Mulberry that is $1 per hour and $10 to leave your car overnight. There is also a large parking lot a block away on 8th and Cherry, which is free, but you cannot leave your car there overnight.
Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?
We have room blocks at two hotels within a 1/2 mile from the venue. Please have your reservation booked before the respective hotel’s cut off date. Those are: September 13, 2024 for the Hyatt Place Downtown Des Moines and September 5 for the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Des Moines Downtown. See our “Hotel Accommodations” page for more details.
Will there be a shuttle to and/or from the hotel(s)?
The is a complimentary shuttle if you are staying at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites. Hyatt Place does not provide a shuttle.
What is the dress code for your wedding?
We are requesting that guests wear semi-formal attire. The theme is "garden party."
Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will take place inside. If weather permits, the cocktail hour will be held outside on the venue’s rooftop. There will also be outdoor activities during the reception. If there is inclement weather, we will move the cocktail hour to the basement.
What is the weather like in the area?
We recommend you plan for cooler temperatures, however there is a chance that the weather will still be warm this time of year.
What type of food will be served at your wedding?
There will be chicken, roast beef and pasta with various sides. The meal will be provided by Hy-Vee.
Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies?
Yes. Please let us know what restrictions you have so that we can notify the caterer.
Will there be an open bar?
A specific amount beer, wine and liquor for the signature cocktail has been purchased by the family, and will be free while the supply lasts.

There will be an hour-long cocktail hour following the ceremony.
