Of the four Disney World Theme Parks in Orlando, Magic Kingdom is the classic Disney Experience. We recommend buying your tickets in advance so they can mail you your complimentary Magic Band which is a wristband with an RFID chip inside that is your park ticket, fast pass tickets, and photo tagger at all the photo spots.
When you log into "My Disney Experience", you'll be able to choose about an hour window of three different rides and get to go into the "Fast Pass" line for those during that hour window. These are available up to 60 days before your planned visit for Disney resort stayers and 30 days otherwise. The regular lines for rides are very long and picking three rides spread out throughout the day is the perfect amount of activity at Disney for one day. One of the three rides you pick is for one of the most popular rides at the park, where the lines can be upwards of 2 hours long without a fast pass!
Magic Bands also let you not have any cash/credit cards on you. You can connect your band to your credit card and it helps make the experience so much better.
There is a complimentary shuttle to Magic Kingdom from Gaylord Palms to any of the Disney Parks with a schedule available at the front desk. We recommend staying anywhere with shuttles to Disney, because parking at Disney is expensive and takes up a lot of time you could be spending at Disney World!
International Food & Wine Festival is held every fall at Epcot. Epcot is a theme park themed around "World's Showcase" where a handful of countries each have a ride and a shop built around their country's culture. During the Food & Wine festival, each country has a food and beverage that showcases their culture. Many people look forward to this event every year because of the unique experience of eating and drinking around the world.
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is a new subsection of Disney's Hollywood Studios Theme park that opens August 29, 2019! We were delighted to hear they are opening this park before our Wedding, so we added this to day 1 of our honeymoon before heading off to Las Vegas! If Star Wars means as much to you as it does to Tom, be sure to check this out while you're in Orlando.
During the month of October, Halloween Horror Nights is a separate ticketed event at Universal Studios. I have never been to it (Nicole), but Tom has and has been sufficiently scared! If you like that, go for it!!
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is a separate ticketed event at the Magic Kingdom Park in the evening hours. It is basically a place for kids and adults alike to trick-or-treat all around the park. Costumes for kids are encouraged and there are a few easy-to-follow rules for adults in costume.
