Statesman Bat Observation Center

Each evening around sunset the Congress Avenue bats emerge like a black cloud from the crevices of the bridge. Flights normally occur around 8 to 8:30 pm but could be earlier or later. Best bet, call the Bat Conservation International at (512) 327-9721 for times. Pro tip: Grab a table (and a drink) at the LINE hotel outdoor patio to have a great view of the bats from the comfort of your seats.

Mount Bonnell

Mount Bonnell is a 775-foot-high outcrop along the eastern shore of Lake Austin. The peak of the overlook is a craggy limestone outcropping surrounded by a forested area of live oak, ash juniper, persimmon and mountain laurel that spans the slope between Mount Bonnell Road and the trails at the top of the park.
