LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT? Not quite... Dan arrived early to his afternoon class on the first day of senior year at Vanderbilt to find the classroom empty except for one girl sitting alone at a table for 4. She was cute so he sat down at her table and started talking to her. Meanwhile, Sarah had gotten to class early to scarf down her lunch only be interrupted by a cute, VERY talkative guy. He joined her at her table. The table they both sat at that day ended up becoming their assigned seats for the rest of the semester.

FIRST DATE There's some debate over when the first date actually occurred. Dan invited Sarah to his fraternity date party. Despite "date" being in the name of the event, Sarah thought they were going as just friends. During their first date (that they both agree WAS a date), they went to watch Sarah's roommate's college swim meet and to Rotier's (sadly, now closed) for burgers and milkshakes.

Vanderbilt Class of 2014! Dan headed to Boston to work for a small strategy consulting firm while Sarah moved to Manhattan to pursue a career in restaurant management. Long(ish) distance would have to do.

Long distance didn't last long! Sarah realized restaurant management wasn't for her and transitioned to marketing instead. Luckily she got a job in Boston where she could be closer to Dan!

The moved into together (with fantastic roommates Cam and Lil!) and were pretty much inseparable.

Eventually, they decided it was time to get a place of their own.

But 500 square feet was feeling way too big so they added another roommate - Jimmy!

Dan asked Sarah, "Will you marry me?" and Sarah said, "You know I will."

They both left their jobs, packed their apartment into storage, and embarked on a year of travel!

During that time, Dan was accepted to join the Kellogg School of Management Class of 2025!

During their year of travel, they visited over 30 states and 10 countries (not including the U.S.) and got to spend lots of uninterrupted time with family and friends.

While Dan attends graduate school, Dan and Sarah are spending ~most~ of the next 2 years in Evanston, Illinois. Let's be honest, travel is inevitable ;)
