Q + A

Civil Ceremony Questions

Why are you having a Civil Ceremony?

The Bride and Groom decided to have a Micro Wedding with only Bridal Party and Immediate Family in Ireland but wanted to be able to include all of those they love in their celebrations and joy. Due to Irelands requirements on marriage the Civil Ceremony will actually be the couples legal date of marriage and will be the date the couple celebrates in the future as it is the day before their 6 YEAR Anniversary.

When is the RSVP deadline?

April 1st, 2025. If you do not RSVP by this date it will be assumed that you can not make it and there will be no seat reserved for you.

Whats the Dress Code?

Summer Cocktail Attire. This is less formal than black tie but more formal than jeans and a t-shirt. Skip the stilettos as you will need to be able to walk through what used to be a former farmers field.

Where do we park?

Please park at the Mother of the Bride's house, right next door, it's a Yellow Rancher with a blue door. Decorations will be tied to the mailbox. Cars will park lined up along the ditch facing the white house.

Will there be food?

There will be a happy hour and canapés following the ceremony, however there will not be a sit down dinner.

Wedding Questions

When is the RSVP deadline?

April 26th, 2025. If you do not RSVP by this date it will be assumed that you can not make it and there will be no food or seat reserved for you at the wedding. We need RSVPs by this point so we can notify our lovely caterer and he can start securing produce.

What's the Dress Code?

Formal. Ladies that means dressy separates/jumpsuits and dresses that are either floor length or hit above the ankle. Gentlemen that means darker-hued suits paired with a crisp white button-down and tie.

Wedding Colours?

Olive Green & Terracotta. The bride welcomes those who would like to dress in these colours.

Have you reserved a hotel block?

Due to the small guest list and minimum number requirements for room blocks at most hotels the bridal couple will not be reserving a block. However the venue owner has provided a list of recommended hotels. This can be found under the Travel tab. The couple also encourages their guests to check AirB&B as Ireland has a good number of affordable rentals all over.

What time should we arrive?

The bridal couple invites their guests to arrive early and enjoy the many gardens on the property. Highlights include: The Italian Parterre, the Water Gardens, & the Seasonal Gardens and Champion Trees.

Where is the ceremony?

Huntington Castle & Gardens have a 14th Century Benedictine Abbey on site that will be the location of the wedding ceremony. Please note: This location is subject to change depending on the weather. The alternate location will be the 17th Century Barn Theatre.

Can I take pictures during the the ceremony and reception?

The couple would greatly appreciate an unplugged wedding; they will pose for a photo moment at the beginning of the ceremony but then kindly request you put your phone away and enjoy the moment with them. The couple has hired a professional photographer and will happily share the photos. During the Happy Hour and Reception feel free to use your phones as long as you do not block any moments the hired photographers are attempting to capture.

Where is the reception?

Located across the parterre, formal gardens, from the Abbey is the Yew Tree Walk, pictured above, the bridal couple invites you to join them under the trees for a reception of dinner, drinks, and dancing.

What food will be served and what if I have dietary restrictions?

When you RSVP there will be a form to fill out which will include Menu Options and a place to list any Dietary Restrictions or Allergies.

Will there be an Open Bar?

Yes, however as the venue is a historical location they limit drink options to Wine and Beer only.

What time is the reception scheduled to end?

Ireland in June is known for long days and short nights. Sunset can happen as late as 11 PM. With this in mind the reception is scheduled to conclude at 10:00 PM to allow people to return to their hotels/accommodations before dark.

Will there be a shuttle to and/or from the hotel?

The bridal couple understands not everyone will want to stay at the same types of hotels. A shuttle has not been arranged due to the drastic geographical difference in hotel locations for this reason. Please plan to get yourself back to your accommodations safely at the end of the night.

Where do we park?

There is a parking lot behind the castle that is connected to the central courtyard through a gate.

Where are you registered?

Please see the "Registry" section for a compiled registry. The Bride and Groom request gifts are sent to their home and not brought to the Ireland location to simplify transportation and storage. They can be brought to the Civil Ceremony and there will be a table set up.

Also please do not feel obligated to buy a gift, your presence with us in celebration is more than enough.
