Civil Ceremony - The Eastern Shore
Hotel Cape Charles
35 Minutes from the Civil Ceremony. The Hotel Cape Charles is located right up the street from the Southern Living famous Brown Dog Ice Cream and within a quick walk to the beach. Enjoy the historic downtown Cape Charles and watch the sun set over the water.
The Charlotte Hotel and Terra Mare Restaurant
18 Minutes from the Civil Ceremony and a 1 minute walk to the Corner Bakery, the best doughnuts you will ever put in your mouth - No visit to the Shore is complete without a trip the the Corner bakery, but get there early because when they sell out their gone. The Bride recommends the doughnut holes and the Maple Bacon doughnut.
The Northampton Hotel
Basically on the water! Originally a private home in the 1930s it was eventually converted into a hotel with a long standing history on the Shore. Where historical detail, modern amenities and the Chesapeake Bay meet on Mason Avenue.
Bay Haven Inn of Cape Charles
Located in the Cape Charles historic district enjoy a walk among the beautiful architectural homes!
There are two ways to get on the Shore. 1) The Bay Bridge Tunnel from Va Beach which will have an off peak toll of $16 going both ways. There are beautiful views over the water and the bridge ends a Fishermans Island, a nature reserve. The Bride begs you to maintain your speed when going down into the tunnel to not back up traffic, she promises it's not that scary after the first tunnel. 2) The Bay Bridge in Maryland, which has a one way toll of $2.50 with an EZPass. You'll still get the beautiful water views, just a shorter amount. But if you're coming early consider a day trip to Chincoteague island, you'll pass it on your way down, the famous island known for wild ponies is a summer staple.

When should I buy Plane Tickets?
The venue is located roughly an hour and a half south of Dublin, which also has the closest international airport. The best way to get around in Ireland will be to rent a car or catch a taxi, although there are trains to certain locations depending on where you want to explore. Please keep in mind if you wish to drive yourself you will have to drive on the left-hand side of the road and will not need an international licence. However it is recommended by some places to get a TripleA (AAA) International Driving Permit, which costs $20.
