Walk around the Historic Taos Plaza. Imagine if the Door County shopping districts were made out of adobe and date back to 1796.
There are some really great and easy hikes around the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument, and one in particular is a 3.7 mile loop called the Rio Grande Gorge West Rim Trail, which overlooks the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge.
There are some amazing trails in Carson National Forest just outside of Taos. Our suggestion would be to check out the South Boundary Trail Head, or head up Hwy 150 to the north and check out the multitude of trail heads leading into the Taos Ski Valley.
Ranked repeatedly in the top 5 disc golf courses in the nation, Sipapu is free to play and is situated in the Taos Ski Valley, a short drive from Taos. We don't play, but if you do, be sure to play this course.
