COMING FROM SEA LEVEL?

ALTITUDE SICKNESS

If you are coming from Sea Level, we wanted to make you aware of something called Altitude Sickness.

Altitude Sickness occurs when your body tries to adjust to the lower air pressure and lower oxygen levels at high altitude too quickly.

Most people don’t experience Altitude Sickness at all, but if they do, the most common symptoms include tiredness, headache, and shortness of breath.

PREVENTION & TREATMENT

Prevention: We recommend all guests arrive in Colorado 24 hours prior to the wedding. This will allow your body time to adjust to higher altitude.… besides… Colorado is the most beautiful state in the US, so why not stay a while?!? WE KNOW YOU’LL LOVE IT!

Treatment: If you think you may be susceptible to altitude sickness or have experienced altitude sickness in the past, over-the-counter medications can alleviate headaches.

Hydrate Before You Dehydrate

Colorado will dehydrate you (and you will get drunk more easily). We know that many of our guests live in more humid climates where drinking a lot of water is optional or where soda or juice is a good alternative. This is not the case in Colorado; drink lots of water. We do not want anyone to get sick from dehydration during their stay! We will make sure we have plenty of water available during wedding festivities.

OXYGEN BOOSTS

Some people may also find temporary relief of symptoms by using Oxygen Boosts. Many stores in CO have them available for purchase.
