So, you're invited! How early should you let the hosts know that you're coming?
You have received an invitation that requires an RSVP. You must do so before or on the deadline date (May 15, 2024). Failure to do so will communicate to the host that you have declined, and so you will be removed from the guest list.
Why is it important to RSVP
The hosts are catering for only a set number of guests. Letting them know that you can or can not make it allows them to prepare and cater. It also allows for the invitation of other guests that may have otherwise been uninvited due to number constrictions. It is courteous and considerate to respond in time to an invitation requesting RSVP.
Where will you stay?
The hosts have worked with hotels in the area to provide discounted rooms for the guests. Use the travel section to browse these hotels. You can also search hotels in the area close to the event and choose your own hotel or Airbnb, or you may choose to live with family or friends in the area. Note that you are fully responsible for your accommodation costs.
Who pays for your accommodations?
You are fully responsible for all your accommodations.
How do you get to Florida?
You can fly or drive. Flying from New York takes approximately 3 hours while driving takes approximately 20 hours. There are cheap flights on Frontier and Spirit Airlines starting from $25 each way if you book early. Other airlines like Jetblue, American Airlines and United also have great deals especially if booked early. The closest airport to the venue is Daytona International Airport (DAB) which is only 15 minutes away. Orlando international Airport (MCO) is about an hour away.
Who can you bring along with you?
Because weddings are catered event, the guest list is specific. If it is addressed to only you, it means no one else, but you, is invited. If it includes a plus one, then you are allowed to bring ONE guest. "Guest" may be a spouse, a siblings, a child or a friend. Note that a plus one means ONLY ONE guest.
Can you bring your children to the wedding?
Only the number of people specified on your invitation is allowed. For example, if it says 3 people, and you have 5 children, then ONLY you and 2 of your children are allowed. If you are bringing your partner, then ONLY you, your partner and ONE child will be allowed. With this said, children under 2 are not counted in the guest list.
What color should you wear to the wedding?
There is a color scheme for the wedding party but you can wear any color of your choice as long as your attire is formal. It is generally taboo to wear white to a wedding unless you are part of the wedding party and are required to do so.
Will transportation be provided to the event on the day of the wedding?
Each person is responsible for making their own transportation arrangement. Rental cars and Ubers are options for transportation. Please call your Uber and be prepared to wait about 10 minutes for it to arrive as Ubers may take longer in Florida than in New York.
What time should you arrive to the wedding venue?
You should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the time stated on your invitation to allow for seating and settling. We expect to begin the ceremony on time.
What gifts can you bring to the wedding?
Because we already have a furnished home, traditional wedding gifts may be redundant. Monetary gifts or gift cards may be more appropriate. There will be a card box at reception to receive your gifts.
Is parking available?
Free parking is available on the premises that hold more than 200 cars. the parking lot is to the front of the venue and you will walk no more than 50 meters.
How long should you expect to be in Florida?
The wedding ceremony, cocktail, and reception take place on Saturday, July 27th, 2024. The wedding after party takes place at Daytona Beach on Sunday, July 28th, 2024. Generally, 3 days, from Friday, July 26th to Monday, July, 29th 2024, is sufficient. The bridal party may choose to fly out from Wednesday, July 24th or Thursday, July 25th, as they are required to be present for rehearsal on Thursday or Friday prior to the wedding (this is subject to availability and is determined by the venue). Ultimately, how long you choose to stay depends on your personal schedule, your budget and your flexibility.
What if you RSVPed "yes" and then you have an emergency 2 weeks or so before the wedding?
Things happen, so if your plans change, it is respectful and considerate to inform us as it will affect our seating chart and our final payments (as there is a per person surcharge). Informing us so we can make. necessary changes will be extremely important and helpful.
What foods is on the wedding menu?
Food is an important aspect of our special day and we want our guests to be full. We have heard too many horror stories about guests still being hungry after a wedding. Therefore, St. Lucian style food and portions will be served. Our entrées include 4 meats including fish, 4 staples, salads and sides. Our cocktail also serves 4-5 hor dœuvres during cocktail hour. Vegetarians are considered in our menu.
