Brody and Emily’s story began on Tinder, sparking a connection that brewed stronger than the coffee Brody referenced when he sent his charming Snapchat proposal: "We should get coffee sometime." Their first date was scheduled for August 21, 2021, but Emily "reel-y" wanted to attend a weekend-long film festival with friends at Le Chat Noir (where one particularly bad movie was the true plot twist she deserved for postponing). They finally met on August 23 at Curry Hut in Augusta. Brody arrived with purple roses in hand, and the two talked until the restaurant closed—a date that truly "spiced" up their lives. Their second date soon followed, featuring a whiskey tasting at Whiskey Bar and an escape room adventure where they “escaped” from an asylum into a budding romance. A little over a month later, Brody asked Emily to be his girlfriend in a blanket fort decked out with Invader Zim bedding—a proposal as quirky as it was endearing. From there, their bond leveled up through video games, road trips, Saturday morning coffee rituals, and Brody’s expertly "crafted" cocktails. In 2022, they embarked on a spiritual "journey of faith," attending the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). By Easter Vigil in 2023, they became fully Catholic, celebrating the Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where they’re now active parishioners. Their shared faith has become a cornerstone of their relationship, and their parish feels like a second home. While they’ve had plenty of adventures, Brody and Emily also excel at turning their home into the ultimate date-night destination. From rolling sushi to crafting gourmet pizza (a Dylan Welchel-approved masterpiece), they’ve stirred up many memories cooking together. Whether they’re perfecting authentic ramen or slow-roasting a rack of lamb, their culinary experiments always pair perfectly with a featured film, and a crafty cocktail. Their story is built on love, faith, and the perfect blend of "pun-derful" moments that make life extraordinary.

Tolkien, Brody brings humor and steadfast loyalty to every part of life. Now, he’s setting sail on the greatest co-op mission of all—marriage to Emily.

A Disney-loving, cryptid-chasing, sea shanty-singing force of nature, Emily has a knack for turning everyday moments into grand adventures. Whether she’s planning festivals, diving into historical rabbit holes, or making sure Brody never wins an argument, she brings passion and fun to everything she does. With a heart as big as her love for the Irish Catholic faith (and maybe even Bigfoot), she’s ready to embark on the greatest adventure yet—marrying her best friend.

The ultimate wingman (and third wheel), Joel waddled into Emily's life as her work bestie before Brody swooped in and claimed him. He played a pivotal role in the couple’s conversion to Catholicism and has been their spiritual and silly goose ever since. Truly, Joel is the best... man.

Caitie and Emily met during their Navy MEPS adventure in 2018 and instantly became shipmates for life. Through thick and thin, Caitie has always been Emily’s anchor.

Vince and Brody met in class and bonded over shared academic trauma and a deep devotion to their Catholic faith. Together, they started a Bible study that’s become a cornerstone of their friendship. When they’re not diving into Scripture or gaming, they’re pushing each other’s limits—like the time Vince challenged Brody to a Hot Ones-style spicy wing showdown… and miserably failed. Faith-filled, funny, and always up for a challenge (win or lose), Vince is a core part of Brody’s crew.

Rose and Emily met at work and instantly bonded over their shared love of learning, music, marching band, and all things Harry Potter. A proud Hufflepuff, Rose brings loyalty, laughter, and a touch of magic to every moment. She’s the friend who always shows up with a fun fact, a great playlist, and a drink in hand—ready to toast to good times and great company.

Dylan and Brody’s friendship kicked off in 4th grade over a Mega Man shirt—though Brody might argue Dylan just wanted to "level up" his coolness by association. Decades later, Brody’s still rocking the shirt (and their friendship).

Kaela was Emily’s first real friend at Fort Huachuca, and their friendship took off faster than a UFO sighting. Bonding over their mutual love of cryptids—especially Bigfoot and aliens—they’ve spent countless hours discussing conspiracy theories and whether the truth is really out there. And yes, they did once survive a surprise toad brothel during monsoon season.

Alex and Brody met in class and bonded over shared academic trauma—which, apparently, is the glue that holds great friendships together. Their connection deepened through a love of video games, and Alex quickly became a trusted co-op partner in all things digital and domestic. Whether he’s lending a hand in the kitchen or offering gardening tips, Alex is always ready to jump in and level up the vibes.

Emily and Elizabeth met the way most introverts with ADHD do—by talking nonstop and realizing they had everything in common. Since then, they’ve bonded over just about everything, because that’s how ADHD friendships work. Elizabeth can spark and sustain any conversation, effortlessly blending humor, random facts, and book references into every moment. She’s been a steady presence of laughter, random ideas, and support in life.

Alex’s player two and unofficial plus-one, Jesse tagged along from Florida to Alabama and instantly clicked with the crew. While he may have followed Alex, he’s carved out his own spot in the friendship lineup. Not just a sidekick—Jesse’s a star player.

Emily and Rebeka met at work, finally discovering another woman on the team to confide in—and the rest is history. They've since bonded over dogs, gardening, and the beautiful chaos of everyday life. Rebeka is the perfect mix of warmth and humor. She's wise, grounded, and (due to her age) unaware of most memes. She brings perspective, comfort, and unintentional comedy to every conversation, making her a treasured friend and an essential part of this journey.

Alex traded Florida’s sunshine for Alabama’s hospitality and quickly became one of Brody’s high school gaming buddies. Hosting epic LAN parties back in the day, Alex proved that sometimes friendship is the ultimate multiplayer experience.  

From rivals to ride-or-die friends, the tale of the two Emilys started at EPCOT’s Friendship Boats. Emily F surrendered her “Emily” name tag and resorted to her middle name to keep the peace, and the rest is history. It’s a small world after all!  

Yes, Blaze is his real name—and no, he’s not on fire (except in gaming). Brody taught him to “git gud,” but Blaze is still dodging his dues from a long-lost Borderlands bet. The moral? Don’t gamble with Brody—or you’ll get burned.

Stephen was Emily's dad’s battle buddy in the 10th Mountain Division in the ‘80s. Since Emily's dad passed away, he has been there for her every step of the way. What Guys Need to Know About Dress Codes

We’re celebrating on Valentine’s Day, so feel free to treat this like a fun, fancy date night! Cocktail attire is perfect—dressy but comfortable. Since our ceremony will be in a Catholic church, we ask that outfits be modest and ceremony-appropriate. And because it’s February, it may be a bit chilly, so we recommend planning for layers, wraps, or a warm coat to stay cozy while celebrating with us.

Dress Code

The Broad Axe Throwing room features four WATL (World Axe Throwing League) regulation throwing lanes. Let their "Axe-Perts" guide you through throwing techniques, games, teambuilding, or just for fun activities. Note: Closed-toed shoes are required to participate. You must be age 16 or older to participate. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. If the guest is under the age of 16, please give us a call prior to purchasing tickets. Beer and Wine are also served at their bar.
