Our Wedding

We matched on Bumble in March 2023 and had our first date at Purgatory Bar (RIP). That night we discovered our first &#8220;wait, really?&#8221; moment: Maria is from Venezuela, and Spencer&#8217;s dad had served his mission there years ago. Small world! Spencer immediately switched to Spanish and launched into a passionate lecture about how apples saved his stomach&#8212;because nothing says romance like digestive advice, lol.
 
Since then, our life has been a mix of travels, concerts, cozy nights in, and kitchen experiments (Spencer&#8217;s cachapas now have a cult following of exactly two members: us). Between switching languages mid-sentence, making up terrible-but-funny songs, and being weirdos with our cats Toeby and Jerry&#8212;plus Jack, who is always convinced the food is his&#8212;we&#8217;ve built a chaotic little family of five. And we can&#8217;t wait for all the strange, wonderful adventures ahead!

Nos conocimos en Bumble en marzo de 2023 y tuvimos nuestra primera cita en Purgatory Bar (QEPD). Esa noche descubrimos nuestro primer &#8220;&#191;en serio?&#8221;: Maria es de Venezuela y el pap&#225; de Spencer hab&#237;a servido su misi&#243;n all&#237; a&#241;os atr&#225;s. &#161;El mundo es una caraota! Spencer de una cambi&#243; al espa&#241;ol y empez&#243; a dar una conferencia apasionada sobre c&#243;mo las manzanas le salvaron el est&#243;mago&#8212;muy apropiado para un primer date, claro.
 
Desde entonces, nuestra vida ha sido una mezcla de viajes, conciertos, noches en casa y experimentos en la cocina (las cachapas de Spencer tienen un culto de exactamente dos miembros: nosotros). Entre cambiar de idioma a mitad de frase, inventar canciones terribles-pero-graciosas y ser raros con nuestros gatos Toeby y Jerry&#8212;m&#225;s Jack, que siempre cree que la comida es suya&#8212;hemos creado una peque&#241;a familia ca&#243;tica de cinco. Y no podemos esperar por todas las aventuras raras y maravillosas que vienen!

WHERE SHOULD I STAY?
Our celebration takes place at Red Butte Garden in Salt Lake City. We recommend staying in or near downtown SLC, where you&#8217;ll find great food, cozy hotels, and fun things to explore.
If you&#8217;re planning to mostly stay within the city, Uber or Lyft works great. But if you&#8217;d like to explore the mountains or nearby towns while you&#8217;re here, we suggest renting a car, since distances in Utah can be a bit longer and public transportation is limited.
 
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Please dress in cocktail attire&#8212;long dresses are welcome as well. Our wedding will take place in a mix of indoor and outdoor garden spaces!
 
There will be lots of dancing later in the night, so feel free to bring comfortable shoes to change into if needed.
 
ARE KIDS WELCOME?
Yes, children are welcome! We just ask that they be supervised during the celebration so everyone can relax and enjoy.
 
CAN I BRING A GUEST?
We&#8217;d love to include everyone, but due to space limitations, we&#8217;re only able to host those listed on the invitation. Thank you for understanding!
 
IS THERE PARKING AT THE VENUE?
Yes&#8212;Red Butte Garden offers on-site parking for all guests.
 
DO YOU HAVE A REGISTRY?
We&#8217;re lucky to already have most of what we need at home. If you&#8217;d like to give a gift, we&#8217;ve set up a fund to help support our future home purchase and honeymoon.
We&#8217;ll also have a card box at the venue if you&#8217;d prefer to bring cash or gift us a sweet note in person. Thank you so much for thinking of us&#8212;it really means a lot!
 
ARE WE ABLE TO WALK AROUND THE GARDENS?
Yes! As our guest, you&#8217;ll have full access to the gardens during the event. You&#8217;re welcome to explore nearby paths and take photos&#8212;but keep in mind that the garden is large, and we&#8217;d love to enjoy our time together with you during the planned celebration.

Nuestra celebraci&#243;n ser&#225; en Red Butte Garden en Salt Lake City. Recomendamos hospedarse en o cerca del centro de SLC, donde hay buena comida, hoteles y mucho por explorar.
Si planeas quedarte principalmente en la ciudad, Uber o Lyft funcionan muy bien. Pero si deseas visitar las monta&#241;as o pueblos cercanos, te sugerimos rentar un auto, ya que las distancias en Utah pueden ser largas y el transporte p&#250;blico es limitado.
 
&#191;QU&#201; DEBO PONERME?
El c&#243;digo de vestimenta es formal tipo c&#243;ctel&#8212;los vestidos largos tambi&#233;n son bienvenidos. Nuestra boda se llevar&#225; a cabo en espacios tanto interiores como exteriores dentro del jard&#237;n bot&#225;nico.
 
Habr&#225; mucho baile al final de la noche, as&#237; que si quieres, puedes traer zapatos c&#243;modos para cambiarte despu&#233;s.
 
&#191;PUEDEN ASISTIR NI&#209;OS?
&#161;S&#237;, los ni&#241;os son bienvenidos! Solo pedimos que est&#233;n supervisados durante el evento para que todos puedan disfrutar y relajarse.
 
&#191;PUEDO LLEVAR UN ACOMPA&#209;ANTE?
Nos encantar&#237;a incluir a todos, pero por limitaciones de espacio, solo podremos recibir a las personas que aparecen en la invitaci&#243;n. &#161;Gracias por tu comprensi&#243;n!
 
&#191;HAY ESTACIONAMIENTO EN EL LUGAR?
S&#237;&#8212;Red Butte Garden cuenta con estacionamiento gratuito en el sitio para todos los invitados.
 
&#191;TIENEN MESA DE REGALOS?
Tenemos la suerte de ya contar con casi todo lo que necesitamos en casa. Si te gustar&#237;a hacernos un regalo, hemos creado un fondo para ayudarnos con nuestra futura compra de casa y luna de miel.
Tambi&#233;n tendremos una caja para tarjetas en el lugar del evento, por si prefieres darnos efectivo o sorprendernos con una linda nota. &#161;Gracias de coraz&#243;n por pensar en nosotros!
 
&#191;PODEMOS CAMINAR POR LOS JARDINES?
&#161;S&#237;! Como invitado/a, tendr&#225;s acceso completo a los jardines durante el evento. Puedes caminar por los senderos cercanos y tomar fotos, pero ten en cuenta que el jard&#237;n es bastante grande, y nos encantar&#237;a compartir contigo el tiempo y los momentos especiales que hemos planeado para ese d&#237;a.
