Q + A

Reserving Pool ChairsWe recommend getting up early to reserve chairs by the pool (especially if you want shade) with your beach towels. Based on reviews, most chairs will be reserved by 9AM. If you have a problem finding a chair, tip the towel guy/girl and they will find chairs for you. You can also tip them the day before to reserve chairs for you the following day.Resort StoresWhile you will be able to find almost anything you need in the resort stores, we recommend not relying on them as they are extremely overpriced ($35 for sunscreen). Make sure to bring all of the sunscreen, hats, pool floats, etc. with you that you will need. TipsTips are greatly appreciated by staff. We recommend bringing $40/per person per day and bringing them in smaller bills. Tips in USD are accepted at the resort and as payment for taxi rides. ATMs are available onsite.

Lobby at Check InThere are 2 lobbies: Roja and Azul.Your shuttle driver will ask you which lobby you should be taken to for check-in. If you are staying on the Hacienda (family-friendly) side, you will check in at the Roja lobby. If you are staying on the Heaven (adults-only) side, you will check in at the Azul lobby.Building numberYou will be assigned a building number for your room when you check in. I recommend reviewing the map beforehand so you can request a building closer to whichever side you’ll spend the most time on: Hacienda (family) or Heaven (adults only). The higher the number, the closer to the Hacienda side you will be (near us!). Building numbers are 1-9.RoomsThere have been complaints from people of the rooms having musty smells upon arrival. If this is the case: A) turn on the AC and let it run for 15 minutes and this should clear out the stale air smell or B) feel free to request a new room.WeatherOctober is the end of monsoon season so you may see rain forecasted for every day. Don’t worry, they are usually afternoon showers that pass quickly.Avoiding Timeshare RepresentativesYou may encounter pushy timeshare representatives at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya. These individuals may approach you during your stay with enticing offers and promotions, but it is important to remember that they are often trying to sell you a timeshare or vacation ownership package.️To avoid any unwanted sales pitches or pressure, I recommend politely declining any offers from timeshare representatives and being cautious when approached by individuals offering free gifts or discounts in exchange for attending a presentation. If you do encounter a timeshare representative during your stay, please feel free to notify the staff so that they can address the situation promptly.

Pro Tips

The Night Before, October 22, 2026

Attire: Resort CasualFor ladies, sun dresses or dressy separates in light, breathable fabrics. For men, button-down shirts, polos, or tees with shorts or pants.

The Wedding, October 23, 2026

Attire: Coastal CocktailCoastal cocktail attire blends elevated, cocktail style with breathable fabrics in vibrant, tropical colors. For ladies, we are defining coastal cocktail as dresses ranging from above the knee to maxi length and in fun, tropical colors and patterns. It will be warm and humid, but with a breeze so keep that in mind when choosing a fabric. The sand is packed to solid surface so any type of heel or sandal is welcome. For men, we encourage button downs and pants in light breathable fabrics and fun colors. Jackets are not required, but are welcome. In summary, have fun with it, look nice, and be comfortable. Click here if you need some inspiration.
