y that I'm a professional musician, 15 Years backing Tina Turner, Peter Gabriel, Ringo Starr's All Starr Band and the movie The Lost Boys, so I know what's required of a musician or DJ. Where we had specific requests, Phil was right there and when we let him do his thing, he read the room perfectly and everybody was up dancing for every set. DJ Phil was awesome and I'm recommending him to everybody with the highest praise possible.

with. What impressed us most was how accommodating they were with our music preferences. We provided them with both our “must play” and “do not play” lists, and they respected our wishes completely while still keeping the dance floor packed all night long. Their flexibility and attention to our specific requests made such a difference in creating the perfect atmosphere for our special day. The ceremonial moments were truly magical. Bud and the band performed beautifully for our first dance, father-daughter dance, and mother-son dance. These intimate moments were made even more special by their heartfelt performances, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Every single band member exceeded our expectations with their professionalism, talent, and energy. They read the room perfectly, knew exactly when to amp up the energy and when to bring it down for the more tender moments. Our guests are still talking about how amazing the music was!

They played non stop, MCed the whole event, and read the pulse of the room perfectly! Everyone felt comfortable dancing, the songs were always on point, his whok crew was animated and professional and they were so easy to work with! Also one of the most special moments- I had sent an instagram to Bud months prior to my wedding that was a video showing a sax and vocalist performing just because I knew he played the sax himself amd thought he would like it. I had totally forgotten about it until on my wedding day at the reception when my grandfather got himself out on the dance floor and I saw bud and the lead vocalist out on the dance floor doing an impromptu sax / vocalist solo right next to my grandfather!!! It was a moment I will never forget, and I still cannot believe that Bud remembered AND executed it! Also - they we chose a cover of the song Still Into You by Paramore for our first dance that sped up and led into the regular fast paced beat of the song. They learned both the slow version and the normal version of that song just for us, and it was perfect. He also suggested the flow of our mother groom dance & bride and her brothers dance and not only was his advice right on the money, he helped executed it to perfection. I cannot say enough good things about this band, truly one of the best decisions we made planning our wedding. If they are still available for your wedding date/ or event and you’re reading this review, the search is over!!! Don’t walk- run to book them.

thing. Our wedding at the Metropolitan Club in NYC on May 18, 2024 was an absolute DREAM, and we would recommend Bud and his team in a heartbeat again and again and AGAIN. From the moment we met Bud on Zoom and then when we saw Bud and his band live, I knew Bud's group was the one for my husband's and my special day!! Bud was an absolute joy to work with; he was extremely responsive, professional, and friendly. He is a master of his craft and exceptionally knowledgeable, yet is extremely approachable and has a wonderful sense of humor, which is always welcome during the wedding planning journey! When Bud referenced notes from our very first conversation a year and a half later (just a little under a month from our wedding), I was beyond impressed and truly touched. Bud and his group brought the BEST energy to our wedding day, and we are so grateful that we will look back on these memories and remember the most wonderful soundtrack to the best day of our lives. I still have the “ooooh, ooooh” VAMP to Tina Turner’s “Simply the Best” for my husband's and my first dance stuck in my head, with the band's amazing singers crooning their hearts out. I had the chills!!!! Singing my heart out to Jess Glynne’s “Hold my Hand” was such a beautiful moment for me, as was dancing around with one of my best girlfriends to “Dancing Queen” by ABBA. Dancing with my dad to Heartland’s “I Loved Her First” was one of the most special moments of my life. My husband and I and everyone there had an absolute BLAST dancing and jumping up and down to “Mr. Brightside.” And seeing my husband and his mom dance to “I’m a Better Man for Having Loved You” was so precious. And to see and hear Bud on the sax was the absolute icing on the cake!!! Bud was also an AMAZING EMCEE - he announced our dances and the toasts/speeches with full energy that could be felt all over!! The dinner music was absolutely fabulous as well, and Bud and his band even figured out just the right time to play “Somewhere Over the Rainbow," which was a request from my MIL to honor her daughter who passed away a few years ago. Bud and his team listened to every word we said, took it very seriously, and found the perfect times to play our requests. We also provided a "Do Not Play List," which Bud and his team took very seriously as well (while reassuring us that they don't play those songs at weddings anyway.) And oh my gosh, I was obsessed with the outfits Bud and his group wore! The sparkles! The sunglasses! The black and white outfits! Absolutely magnificent!!! Best band for the best value, I cannot emphasize this enough. We added the trumpet, 2nd female vocalist, trombone, and percussion, and every single member of the group was absolutely phenomenal. The live DJ and sound engineer with mics for speeches are also included at no extra charge. Bud and his band are top-notch and total class acts. Bud, thank you for everything!!!! Our first dance was not a very known song, but the band put together an amazing version which is now our preferred rendition - and we haven't stopped talking about it. I are both serious music fans and musicians, with strong musical backgrounds and many friends in the music industry. Though we have very different tastes, we are each very particular with what kind of music we wanted to make our special day even more special. Bud and his band delivered on every front possible: their song selection threaded the needle of our respective tastes, their irresistible groove and positive energy kept people on the dancefloor from start-to-finish, and, as was incredibly important to my wife, they played a hell of a hora. The band is incredibly talented (several songs were practically indistinguishable from their studio versions) and seems to have a telepathic intuition about which song our guests wanted, or needed, to hear next. I’ve had several friends independently tell me that Bud and his band provided the best music they’ve ever heard at a wedding. Beyond the excellent music and performance, Bud was a joy to work with throughout the wedding planning process. Unlike other bands that we spoke to, Bud had no problem with learning as many special requests as we felt like we needed. He even went through the trouble of creating his own trio arrangement for an obscure Ennio Morricone composition to play as my wife walked down the aisle. Bud was an incredible communicator, and a lot of fun to talk to–his extensive experience playing events and his deep love and appreciation of music is clear whenever you speak to him. He helped us tailor our musical experience to our exacting needs, including letting me sit in on a song with the band, and letting my friends and I use his band’s equipment to play a couple songs of our own. He and his band made his way up from New Jersey to our wedding at Tanglewood in the Berkshires with zero complaints. As a host, collaborator, and bandleader, he was beyond anything we could have hoped for. Extremely highly recommended!

As much as we love DJs, you can’t recreate the same energy without a band. Every single member of Bud’s band is top tier talent. They impressed us when we initially saw them at the showcase, and they blew us away on wedding day. Buds level of professionalism is by far the highest we came across in our endless search for the perfect wedding band. As live music junkies, we did take this process quite seriously. And there are some good ones out there, but none compared with Bud and metropolitan music. Their extensive songbook allows us to choose so many great songs that we wanted to dance to. They also played some great songs that I didn’t necessarily anticipate, but that got the dance floor moving. It was a multicultural wedding and I was impressed with Bud and the bands knowledge of many different genres and ability to weave songs into one another and make a perfect set list for the wedding. I remember on wedding day I snuck away from family pictures to go into the reception room and saw budding setting up. This is a guy you can trust to get the party goin on your wedding day. Thanks Bud! Wouldn’t have been the same otherwise.

On top of their musical talent and showmanship, there overall orchestration of the event was most impressive and I would highly recommend to anyone for any occasion!

From our first call with Bud, it was obvious he loved music (including much of the same stuff that we love), he knew how to get a party started, and he was easy to talk to and work with. Leading up to our wedding, Bud met with us several times and provided great suggestions on music as we wanted a focus on funk, soul, and disco - and he helped put our pre-wedding anxiety at ease. On the day of, Bud and his band killed it! From the ceremony music (all Beatles songs performed on flute and guitar), to cocktail hour (piano jazz), to the reception - everything flowed well and we had the packed dance floor we dreamed of. Bud is a great MC and his bandmates are truly talented. Our crowd loves live music and loves to dance, and so many of our guests commented on how great the band was. Everyone especially loved when the singers and horns came out on the dance floor with the crowd. Plus, they really do the best Hora! We feel lucky that Bud and his band kept us on the dance floor all night, and even when we tried to step away the music just kept pulling us back. Thank you to Bud and the whole band for making our wedding so fun and memorable!

My guests could not stop raving about the music at our wedding - especially when the horn section came out into the crowd and got everyone involved. Soooo glad I had a videographer there to capture everything :) One of my most favorite wedding moments was hopping on stage to play my “father-daughter song” with the band. We were so excited to spend our night with Bud and his 8 Metropolitan Musicians for our August 2020 wedding. However, Covid forced our wedding plans to take a turn of events. Bud remained by our side through multiple postponements, venue changes and wedding dates. Bud was more than accommodating and flexible. He became a friend and guided us through 1.5+ years of planning. Bud was always available to answer questions and help create a timeline of events when certain decisions had to be made. We had many zoom meetings to discuss logistics and keep him updated with any changes. But more importably, he supported all of our decisions. Bud continued to reassure us that it did not matter how many people were at our wedding, if we wanted a party, he would make sure it happened and he did not disappoint! Our wedding turned from a 130 person wedding to a small, very small (12 person) intimate wedding with only immediate family. However, we still wanted to dance and celebrate and that is exactly what we did! Our entire family spent the night on the dance floor and didn't want the night to end. Isn't that what every bride and groom wants?! We were hesitant about our small wedding at first but we would not change a thing! Bud made sure we would still have the most special night. We were surrounded by all the people we love, celebrating our new chapter. We continue to talk about Bud and the Metropolitan Musicians and how our wedding would not have been the same without them. They all truly love what they do (and are great at it) and it is obvious by their professionalism and contagious smiles behind their instruments and voices. His team and the equipment were efficient and set up in the blink of an eye. Bud himself even showed up which was SUPER cool and appreciated! Now, DJ Nick, was AWESOME. He was courteous, made sure we were all on the same page during the evening, and played some ROCKING music! I cannot speak higher praises for DJ Nick, he knew his stuff and I had so many compliments about how awesome the music was after the wedding. And lastly, my father last minute (literally two days before the wedding) asked Bud if we were able to get a photo booth together for the wedding. And Bud pulled it off. The photo booth was a HIT and I cannot thank the people working it enough for being there. Our guests loved the props and we loved getting all the photos after the fact! We cannot thank Bud and his whole team for pulling off one of the most important parts of a wedding and making everything effortlessly smooth.
