MCDdoong was unprofessional, unresponsive and didn't heed to any of our emails or meetings. After we paid our deposit, he pretty much waited until the last moment to schedule a meeting with us and only after much insistence. It was clear he didn't read any of our 3 previous emails and instructions and my wife and I basically told each other, he's just an MC, we gave him simple instructions, what could go wrong?
On the day of the wedding my brother told me this guy sweaty and disgusting, 30 minutes before the start time so we didn't even have a chance to coordinate. Because of this he tried to improvise throughout the wedding, including cracking jokes during the ceremony (we specifically wrote in instructions for him not to do this but he didn't read our emails or Kakao messages- I know this because our last few Kakao messages were still unread). We simply needed someone to help translate certain portions of the wedding / ceremony and told him specifically when to chime in, but he suffers from some weird party narcissism that made him think he needed to be the center of attention. That wasn't cool in high school, so you could imagine how cringe it was at a wedding. Even random guests started telling him off. He managed to offend multiple people at the wedding, my pastors, my wife's friends and family, my family and even other vendors who were well-prepared and waiting on him. Luckily, because he was so irritating and annoying he ended up being a uniting force because everyone collectively found him to be a joke. Whenever he got feedback, His DJ was really good and so was his photo booth guy. But he got in the way of the wedding. Many props to DJ Kimmy for staying professional, despite his juvenile behavior. It seems like he has been doing this for a while and just does his own thing, so he shows up to weddings and does the same obnoxious jackass routine.
MC Ddoong was very passionate and took the time to get to know our needs. He is very knowledgeable as well. His team including DJ Kimmy and Cris made our wedding a beautiful experience.
At our initial meeting, the DJ gave us little to no time to decide on booking him. He suggested we pre-tip his company so we wouldn't have to worry about it later. Big mistake. He was completely unprofessional. Close to the wedding, he did not respond to our email about logistics for 5 days until we called him.
At the wedding, it became clear that he did not fully read our itinerary of wedding details, since he had no idea he was supposed to make a quick announcement about cell phone use during the ceremony, and someone else had to step in to do it. The whole reason for booking him was for him to make bilingual announcements. He delayed our dinner by over an hour and claimed it was the venue that asked for it and instructed the manager to delay the food without consulting us. We had to check with the manager and move up the course. He asked our wedding party to redo their entrance into reception for more enthusiasm, even though we were already behind schedule. He started the music too quickly on our first dance. He asked for "just a minute" when we needed to get our final pictures in before the photographers' time ran out, and then once we agreed, he had us do a conga line. We carefully scripted a short explanation for him to read regarding one ceremony, and he instead read a Wikipedia explanation off of his phone. One or two songs we wanted didn't get played, and they played a few dub stop songs that were really hard to dance to. We included short announcements that were supposed to be made about raffles, which he didn't do because he clearly didn't read our itinerary. We had to make adjustments along the way and work twice as hard at our own wedding to try to readjust the schedule, initiate things to do, or to counter the sabotage from Dj Ddoong.
The photobooth worked out fine, the lighting was decent, the fog machine had to be quickly abandoned because the guests thought there was a building fire, and the other people in his company were professional. Our guests thought he did a good job in getting people on the dance floor and there were many people dancing. If you're looking for a DJ that also speaks Korean, I've been to other weddings that had them and who did not throw off their whole day.
I don't recommend MC Ddoong at all. long story short. he is very unprofessional, He was arguing with the guests and smoking during the reception. The best part is he left early, didn't close the party..Very rude !!!
Even DJ was checking on her phone all the time..
