I originally booked this venue while working with a different manager. Unfortunately, that manager left, and I was then assigned to Morgan. Many of the arrangements and expectations that had been discussed with the previous manager were not honored, The day before my wedding, I was informed by Morgan  that I would not have access to the ceremony room. Imagine finding that out less than 24 hours before your wedding! Because of this, I had my wedding planner send an email requesting to opt out of that portion of the venue and receive a refund. However, I was told that I would not be refunded, despite the fact that the space was never used. I was also only given a partial refund of my deposit. The problems didn’t stop there. On the morning of my wedding, I was supposed to have access to the building at 7:00 AM. Instead, I found myself making multiple phone calls just trying to get inside a venue I had already paid for. This was completely unacceptable, especially on a day when everything was supposed to be organized and running smoothly. Another major concern was the unexpected fees. My wedding was paid off in March 2026, with the ceremony taking place in September 2026. Yet, just two weeks before my wedding, I was suddenly informed that I owed an additional $640. To make matters even worse, this venue STILL owes me money! I have repeatedly requested an itemized receipt showing exactly what I was charged for and a breakdown of the additional fees. However, my requests have gone unanswered. I’ve asked for someone to return my calls and provide documentation explaining where my money went, but I have received neither At this point, I am still trying to get the money I believe I am owed, along with a proper breakdown of the fees I paid. Customers should not have to chase down management for their own money or beg for receipts and basic financial transparency. In my experience, both managers and the building superintendent demonstrated a serious lack of professionalism, organization, communication, and accountability. There were far too many misunderstandings, and instead of being able to enjoy the days leading up to my wedding, I was left dealing with issues that should have been resolved long before the event. My advice to anyone considering this venue is to READ YOUR CONTRACT CAREFULLY, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING, REQUEST ITEMIZED RECEIPTS, AND KEEP ALL EMAIL CORRESPONDENCE. Do not rely solely on verbal agreements. I had arrangements in place with the original manager, but once she left, those conversations and agreements were not honored. The venue itself may be beautiful, but a beautiful building means absolutely nothing when the management makes the entire experience a nightmare. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS VENUE TO ANYONE UNDER ITS CURRENT MANAGEMENT. SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS, THE HEADACHE, AND THE FINANCIAL FRUSTRATION. DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE! I truly hope management takes accountability and makes serious improvements so that no other couple has to experience what I went through.

Morgan was a bride’s worst nightmare. We were repeatedly threatened with cancellation, charged unnecessary fees, and even charged approximately $279 to switch tables after we had repeatedly communicated that we did NOT need their chairs and would handle our own setup. Morgan refused to allow us access to the tables and then charged us to correct a situation we never requested. The AIR CONDITIONING DID NOT WORK PROPERLY during our wedding, leaving guests — including myself — drenched in sweat. Even worse, one of our guests suffered a seizure, requiring EMS to respond in the middle of our wedding. We were also never provided the emergency contact we were promised. The building had additional issues with doors and elevators, despite us paying for a fully functional venue. We were also given conflicting information about the revolving doors — first being told they would be repaired, then being told they were simply “for decoration.” When we attempted to escalate our concerns beyond Morgan and Julie, we were told “it stops with them.” Rick and T.N. Patel, who oversee the property, were also unresponsive to our concerns. DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE WITHOUT DOING EXTENSIVE RESEARCH. If you have already signed a contract, carefully review your rights and every provision before moving forward. Based on our experience, I would NOT recommend 1208 Washington or any venue under SEJWAD Hospitality, including Medallion Center Columbia. Your wedding day should be memorable for the RIGHT reasons. Ours was unnecessarily overshadowed by venue management, facility issues, and constant stress.
