To say Kirsten was the most important part of our wedding day coming together would be an incredible understatement.
I really enjoy planning things for myself, my friends, and family: parties, outings, dinners, vacations, etc. I’m a checklist ...& full schedule kind of person. So when it came time for me to hand over the reins for my wedding, it was a very different experience for me. Not because I didn’t trust her, but because I’m so used to throwing myself in to make everything happen. Kirsten handled all the vendors, worked with my friends to get everything set up perfectly at the venue, and insisted I not lift a finger the day of the wedding. (My biggest challenge!) She made sure we ate, that we were comfortable and happy, and we had what we needed. At the end of the day my father asked specifically about her, because he was unbelievably impressed with her, and all she had done. Considering I get my “make a list, then go get it done” traits from him, that speaks volumes.
I know full well she walked/jogged/ran all over that venue all day (and it was HOT!). And somehow she never stopped making us feel like she was genuinely happy to be sharing the day with us, and that our happiness and ease were her utmost priority.
I ran into Kirsten a couple of weeks after the wedding and I could have burst out of my skin. I might have tackled her. OK, I did tackle her. Because I adore her, and truly enjoyed getting to know her over these past couple months.
I would not have been able to enjoy my wedding day the way I did without Kirsten. It was truly the most amazing day ever.
For anyone on the fence about hiring a day of coordinator or wedding planner, please listen when I say that you truly need one to fully enjoy your special day. And if you want it to be flawless, that person better be Kirsten.
