About this vendor
Ranked Princeton Review's Most Beautiful Campus, Rollins is pleased to offer couples the opportunity to host their wedding ceremonies in our historic Knowles Memorial Chapel. New starting in 2019, wedding receptions may also be hosted on campus in the newly redesigned Rice Family Pavilion. The Rice Family Pavilion offers the perfect banquet space for weddings up to 200 guests. The space also offers an adjoining rotunda and patio, perfect for cocktail hour. We now allow those not affiliated with the College to have their ceremony in the Chapel with the rental of Rice Family Pavilion. We are pleased to partner with our on-site catering team, The Gourmet Cuisine at Rollins College, for all food and beverage needs for your event!
Weddings can be reserved one year in advance.

If you’re thinking about Rollins College as a wedding venue, please heed my warning and think again. ESPECIALLY if you are booking a November wedding. Our experience was an absolut...
e nightmare, and doesn't even deserve the 1 star given.
We were completely blindsided when we found out from the Alfond Inn just 2 months before our wedding date that Rollins scheduled their annual Family Weekend on our wedding weekend. This major campus event is typically scheduled for the first weekend in November, and was listed as a blocked out weekend when we originally picked our wedding date. Unbeknownst to us, Rollins decided to hold this event on the second weekend in November this year, a weekend that was not blocked out when we selected our wedding date.
We didn't even receive notice of this impact from Megan, Rollins Event Coordinator. She could not guarantee our guests parking or confirm any of the Family Weekend event impacts to our wedding logistics, and put us in a terrible situation to cancel and reschedule everything we had painstakingly planned for over a year. Her lack of professionalism is astounding. What should have been a joyful, stress-free experience turned into absolute heartbreak, financial loss, and frustration.
Rollins showed zero accountability or consideration for the impact on couples who trust them with one of the most important days of their lives. Months of planning, thousands of dollars spent, and countless hours coordinating vendors were completely wasted. Couples book with Rollins expecting competence and accountability, not to be treated as an afterthought until the damage is irreversible. Do yourself a favor and avoid this venue entirely!
My husband (!) and I could not have dreamed of a more beautiful venue to get married. The chapel is truly breathtaking and the Rice Pavilion is a gorgeous place for a reception. Th...
e Pavilion comes with the added benefit that it is so aesthetically lovely to begin with, that you can definitely spend less on décor!
Rollins College is very near and dear to our hearts. My dad has worked at Rollins for 28 years. I went to college there, as did my little brother, and I met my husband for the very first time in the dining hall on campus.
Megan from the events team is a breeze to work with. She responds to questions with lightning speed and is super kind and friendly. Nearly everything was perfection.
My one critical note for future couples: We booked Rollins with a pretty tight budget. We saw that in-house catering (Rollins Catering) was more reasonably priced than the other three approved caterers by a matter of ~$5,000-7,000 for our 84-person wedding. This was an important budgetary factor in the planning process. Unfortunately, Rollins Catering was a major source of planning frustration. Pre-wedding communication is very sparse and frustrating. Lots of “hey did you get my email from two weeks ago and then again one week ago?”. The other issue was a lack of attention to allergies (including one that is, like, anaphylaxis level). That was super unsettling but I know everyone makes mistakes and I will just chalk it up to a rare mistake. Ryan from the catering team is nice and friendly, but there are some communication issues that I think the team could benefit from working through.
Overall, so blessed to have gotten married at Rollins!
We loved our wedding in May 2025 at Knowles Chapel and Rice Pavilion! People loved the ease of a 3 minute walk between ceremony and reception. The space itself is beautiful and tim...
eless. In May, the rose garden next to the chapel was in full bloom and my photos from the day are incredible. Megan and Katie were great and answered all questions and needs in a timely manner. I recommend!
This is a magical place to get married! It’s absolutely beautiful! We had a dreamy wedding day thanks to the team at 1885 Events! Couldn’t asked for better coordination and care!

r your hard work, dedication to our vision and overall patience & support through our wedding planning process.
Our wedding ceremony was conducted jointly by Rabbi Cheryl Jacobs (South Florida) and Father Charlie Mitchell (local - St. Mary Magdalen Parish). Knowles Chapel is an exquisite building, and to have both of our family's faiths represented in one place of worship was truly moving. In addition to our "halfsies" ceremony, we had a lovely string quartet led by Kathleen Attanasi, florals by Velvet & Twine, Photography by Vine & Light, Videography by The Richards and month of coordination by Cherish Events. All parties worked so well together and were welcomed with open arms by Christina, Susan and the 1885 Team.
Not only did we get married at Knowles Chapel, but we also had our Rehearsal Dinner with 1885 Events. Our "night before" was an incredible evening overlooking Lake Virginia under a chandelier lit tent with the BEST service, most delicious food & beverage and seamless orchestration from their team. Diego Arenas led the charge & was just exceptional.
Due to Covid, our planning was much longer and had more hurdles than the average, but because of the very talented team at Rollins College & 1885 events we had the most special rehearsal dinner and wedding ceremony.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! We appreciate all you did to make our wedding weekend spectacular!
If I could give 1885 Events 0 stars, I would. The chapel itself and the reception venue are so beautiful, but I really don't know if the service is worth it. I've been in contact w...
ith the Events Coordinator at 1885 Events for almost four months. Their policy is to not have you book until one year out from the month you're interested in. We loved the actual space itself and asked the Events Coordinator if we could join a waitlist and/or if they have availability in February 2023. The Coordinator kept telling us to reach out on Feb 1st, 2022, and so we waited and chose not to move forward with any vendors or an alternate venue. We had reason to believe that there would be availability this month, and even talk with the Coordinator about that in January. She got back to us this afternoon to say they would not be taking any weddings in February 2023 due to a Bach Festival. This seems like something she would have known about before today, and losing four months of planning, especially with all of the COVID weddings being backed up, is so upsetting. There had been other red flags and people had shared that the service and responsiveness at Rollins wasn't good, but we chose to ignore it because we thought that we would wait our turn and snag whatever date they had available. Please please do not book this venue - save yourself the headache and time.

We loved having our ceremony at Rollins Chapel! It's a beautiful chapel and close to such wonderful reception venues. I graduated from Rollins, which made it feel extra special!

he College, Susan, was spot on and handled everything during the ceremony - we did not need a wedding planner for the ceremony.
The organist and singer recommended by the College were amazing - they have done many weddings and it showed.
