We had a consultation with them and from the second we started talking, we knew they were the DJ/MC for us. From their fantastic planning app to the consistent communication, they made planning our reception a breeze! We were able to plan out all the music for the night (and the songs we didn't want played), so when the reception day came, my husband and I only had to worry about showing up. During the reception, they were able to pick out songs that matched the vibes smoothly and get the crowd going when introducing everyone. Also, I may be biased but I don't think I've ever seen so many people dance at a wedding before. We also got the photo booth option they offer and that was a big hit with the guests as well. They were also extremely flexible. We decided to cut the cake earlier than we originally planned and end the reception a little early bc of extenuating circumstances. At first, I felt very guilty and nervous that it would be an issue but they were able to make the change in an instant and seem like it was part of the original plan all along. I would get married to my husband a billion times just to have 196 Events DJ/MC our event again and couldn't recommend them enough!!

During the reception, they absolutely delivered on their promise of no boring receptions. They managed the event flawlessly, played all the music we wanted, and made sure to check in with us throughout the night. Many of our guests even commented at how great the DJ was!

we had very promptly. I don’t think there were any issues all night with the microphones or music–everyone was audible and the music was great! I was very particular about what songs I wanted to have playing everywhere other than the dancing part of the reception, and they were able to play the songs I wanted and then find fun songs to encourage dancing during the reception! The website/app they use to help plan out the wedding timeline and associated music/mic needs was super easy to use and made it easy to keep everything straight. Devail and Nikki were both very, very kind people, and very fun and easy to work with! We also used their photo booth services, which was super fun for both us and our guests. We got all of the pictures sent to us digitally also, which have been a blast to look back through. And on top of ALL of that – they also worked with my now-husband to help him sing and play a surprise song for me on a keyboard! Nikki and Devail, thank you both so much for helping to make our wedding such a fun and memorable experience!!

The planning suite they use is extremely easy to navigate and set s everyone up for success leading up to the big day! A little something that stood out: Our pastor that officiated our wedding is retired and had not done a wedding in 6 years, and it was the first one he had done without his wife of 57 years there with him. Devail and Nikki took time out of their busy schedule to share some video footage with our pastor so that he could show his wife. Talk about making it a personal experience!! They did this sort of thing throughout the whole process of working with them. We know this is a long review, but long story short, We cannot recommend their services enough. HIRE THEM!!!!

There were a few songs that I did not know what to choose for such as processional for bridesmaids and he picked out the perfect one! oing and that's what you want when you're booking your DJ. Not only do they know what they're doing, but they're fun, approachable, and felt like friends. This duo goes above and beyond to really make you feel special on your wedding day. For example, during our last dance, I asked Nikki to hold my phone. Without me even asking, she took it upon herself to record our dance for me on it. (If you're reading this Nikki, I will ALWAYS remember that <3). That is what takes these two above and beyond. They're one step ahead the entire time, and it was so reassuring to have that on a day where so much is happening so fast. And they are truly thinking of the couple above all else. Lastly, these two have so many extra add-ons with their service! We had the photobooth, but they just recently got a new Audio Guest Book, which we LOVED. That was so cool and a huge recommendation. All in all, 196 is knowledgeable, affordable, and FUN. A must-book at your wedding!!

They definitely understood the assignment when it came to the music selections, they had the best judgement on the type of vibe and music I wanted for our reception. I had a mix of older and younger people at my wedding and 196 Events did a great job of combining new and old R&B/Hip-Hop music for everyone to dance to! Everyone at my wedding raved how much fun they had during the reception. I could not stop dancing all night! I could not recommend them enough! Why I am glad I did They 1000% killed it for my wedding. Leading up to the wedding, they have a few questionnaires and a very easy to use music selection sheet that helps them design your best reception. I was totally overwhelmed (seriously get a wedding planner) and didn’t utilize these planning tools as much as I could have. But that didn’t matter, they took what I gave them and brought the music! Even with little input from me, they threw a GREAT party. They read my crowd and kept the energy high. They also took a few videos of some unique moments which was a great addition to our photographs. One of the best decisions of my wedding planning was hiring Nikki and Devail! deliver was incredibly important to us. Devail & Nikki were incredible from the first phone call. They listened to our vision and promised they would deliver and deliver they did. Their planning suite was a helpful tool and being able to use that for our planning was a huge help. We had a phone call nailing down the final details a week before the wedding which went fantastic. Our wedding could not have been more perfect! Devail stuck to our playlist and had everyone on the dance floor all night! The mixing of songs was awesome. Any tweaks we needed they delivered. What stood out to me the most besides the epic entertainment was we had a last minute change of who was going to be doing the welcome speech. Devail took it upon himself to track down my uncle (in a family of over 70ish people) without having a clue who he was and succeeded. INCREDIBLE! Above and beyond are the best words to describe 196 Events! It is so abundantly clear how much they care about their clients and we could not have been more happy. Thank you Devail and Nikki from the bottom of our hearts for making our vision into a reality!
