We booked AJ for our prom and he was fantastic! He kept the students on the dance floor all night, gauged interest really quickly, and had amazing transitions between songs. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to have a good time at their event.
AJ did a fabulous job! Everyone at the party had a wonderful time.

Meet the team
- DJ 1WaveCEO and Lead DJ/MCI'm AJ Smith, the heart and energy behind 1Wave DJs. Music has been my life since before I was 10, taking private lessons as a percussionist and never looking back. After proudly serving in the US Navy, I honed my skills at Mesa Community College, earning a Certificate in Audio Production Technologies. I've been backstage with legends — working as a stagehand for Elton John, Lady Gaga, and Diana Ross, building the stage for Kid Rock and Playing on Stage with Kenny Olson— I sharpened my craft as a lighting and sound technician at the renowned Interlochen Center for the Arts. When I launched 1Wave DJs, my mission was simple: deliver unforgettable entertainment that packs dance floors and exceeds every expectation. I pour that same passion into every wedding, making sure couples feel like stars on their big day. I create beats and perform in front of many different types of audiences. Next year marks 5 years of being 1Wave DJs — and it's all for you. Here's to the music, the moments, and many more!
