20 South Productions

We booked our DJ, Dwight Ellis, through 20 South Productions. Dwight did a fantastic job and we were so lucky to have him at our wedding! He was extremely kind, reliable, and accommodating. He followed our requests with precision, played only the songs we had listed, and kept the dance floor packed all night! Dwight created an incredibly fun and carefree atmosphere, making the night absolutely perfect. We couldn't be happier with his work!

Chris was great to work with! He provided a list of DJs and was able to help set up a contract with our chosen DJ. My complaint is with the DJ we selected, Ran Henry. Ran is super sweet, but I feel like his music selection wasn't what he sold us on. He told us during the consultation that he reads the room to determine what to play next, which is pretty standard with DJs. He might take it a little over the top by only playing the type of music people are dancing to at that time. I gave him a list of songs to play and broke it down by what song plays when for the processional and recessional. He didn't switch songs for me to walk down the aisle to, so I and my coordinator were confused and waited longer than we wanted before deciding I just needed to start walking down the aisle. The song that I was supposed to walk down the aisle to played as the recessional, and my recessional song never played. I provided a list of suggested songs so Ran could get a feel for what we wanted to play at the reception, and the first hour and a half of the reception was oldies (I put one oldie, Sweet Caroline, on the list of songs). I was very thrown off when the song to kick off the reception was "That's Amore". Thankfully my husband's family was enjoying the oldies, but it was very different from what I had on my recommended. Around 8 was when my selections came into focus. The transitions between songs was jarring to say the least. If you need a DJ last minute, Ran isn't a bad option if you are okay with not having much control over what is played at the reception.

We had a great experience booking our DJ through 20 South Productions! Chris provided us with all the information we needed to make the perfect decision for us on the DJ for our wedding. Our DJ, John Garland was absolutely amazing! He was professional, kind, and made sure the entire day's music went smoothly and without a hitch. John listened to all our requests and curated an amazing set of songs that kept all our guests on the dance floor the entire night! We cannot recommend John enough!

This band is great! They’re so flexible and helpful, and really work hard to make sure that everyone is happy. We had a couple of requests for special songs and they learned them for us. Awesome!
