Overall, we had a wonderful experience with 21c, and our wedding was absolutely beautiful. The venue itself is stunning, the hotel was a great place for us and our guests to stay, ...and we received countless compliments from our guests—many even said it was the best wedding they had ever attended. The staff was also accommodating in several ways, including allowing some of our vendors to set up early, which we really appreciated.
Throughout the planning process, I did find communication with our event manager to be somewhat challenging. Response times were often slow, and she was difficult to reach due to being out of the office frequently. That said, whenever I was able to get in touch with her, she was always helpful and did her best to answer my questions.
There were, however, a couple of disappointments during the reception. The biggest was that the bar ran out of beer. Many of our guests were beer drinkers, and we had spent a significant amount on the bar package, so this was very frustrating. We also noticed that the hotel restaurant still had beer available, which made the situation even more confusing.
Additionally, there was a very long wait between dinner courses. The delays significantly cut into the time our guests had to dance and socialize, and many guests became hungry and restless while waiting. By the time dessert was served, many people had already gotten up or decided to skip it because the meal service had taken so long.
I wanted to share this feedback because I truly hope these are areas that can be improved for future weddings. Despite these issues, 21c is a beautiful venue, and we’re grateful for the role it played in making our wedding day so special. With a few improvements to communication, bar service, and the pacing of dinner, I think the experience could be exceptional.
