About this vendor
21c Museum Hotel is a venue welcoming weddings in Louisville, KY. A cultural cornerstone of the city’s beating heart, couples can exchange vows amongst works by some of America’s most lauded contemporary artists. The hotel is a great choice for culture vultures who wish to marry in style and comfort.
21c Museum Hotel is located in Louisville's historic downtown district. A Louisville landmark, the hotel is housed in a stunning early 20th-century skyscraper. The property deftly blends the cultural kudos of a respected contemporary art space with the style and service of a boutique hotel. Couples can choose to say “I do” in one of several spaces, including the gallery itself. Spacious and well-lit, it offers a scene of industrial elegance featuring high-ceilings and tracts of artfully exposed brickwork. The gallery can be decorated as couples see fit and encourages wedding planners to be creative. The hotel’s roof terrace is another charming venue in which to tie the knot. Boasting views over the surrounding city, it is a breathtaking scene for both a ceremony and a wedding photoshoot. A host of well-appointed rooms welcome guests at the end of the day. These are decorated in a refined contemporary style and feature characterful art pieces. Couples can choose to rest their heads in the private apartment, located on the building’s rooftop, which features an open-plan design and spacious terrace. For art lovers, the Asleep in the Cyclone room is an immersive experience that allows invitees to sleep in a space which is part-installation, part-guest room.
21c Museum Hotel offers a distinctive wedding experience, which is backed by the expertise and dedication of its staff. The event planning team can work with the in-house restaurant, Proof On Main, to create a delicious menu to satiate even the hungriest of guests. Proof on Main is renowned throughout the city for its fresh and innovative dishes, which are based on locally sourced fare from Louisville's surrounding countryside. Outside of catering, the management welcomes and can work with the vendors of your choice and they are also happy to make recommendations.

We got married at 21c in September 2022. We had booked the venue sight unseen since we’re based in Chicago. There was a bit of confusion when it came to venue capacity since we were under the impression that the main gallery capacity was exclusive of the main area when in reality the total capacity of the gallery included the central gallery plus all of the side galleries. We also didn’t want to have our family and friends who had traveled from Chicago to be separated in various rooms. Thankfully it ended up working out and we were able to ‘flip’ a table post dinner to give more space to a dance floor and then used the various side galleries for bar areas and mingling during cocktail hour. Also, in between the time we booked the venue and the time we had our tasting there was a management change. It was very hard to get a hold of someone to confirm our tasting and we ended up driving all of the way down to Louisville (10 hours round trip) for the chef/management to not have record of the info. While that was a fairly stressful experience, the team at 21c did comp us a room for our return for the full tasting and the restaurant team & new chef brought out all the stops for our dinner that night. After those initial hiccups and once we got an independent coordinator based in the Louisville area, everything was smooth sailing as we started working with the coordinator and Nina from 21c. The food was amazing, truly hard to pick what we wanted. Nina also worked with us to determine our custom cocktails and bar offerings, as well as, a bourbon bar with hotel barrel picks for cocktail hour, which was really special and our guests loved. We ended up getting room blocks at some other nearby less expensive hotels but everyone loved the venue and said how unique & memorable it was, which was exactly the impression we were going for. Also we had reserved the Apartment as our bridal suite and it was amazing for the bride/maids/moms for getting ready (so spacious, multiple bathrooms, and great light). Also doubled as our first look location!
21c Museum Hotel is a breathtaking venue for a wedding, especially if you get the right weather and can get married on the rooftop, in the penthouse. The penthouse is such an amazing event space and has gorgeous views. I highly recommend doing the rooftop and gallery combination, and staying at the penthouse throughout the weekend if you can. It makes for such a special, unique weekend. It is a stylish venue with excellent food and drinks, and wowed my family and friends from all over the country. We chose 21c because it was unique, gorgeous, and more affordable than places we could find in Chicago, as well as logistically simple.
From the beginning, the venue went above and beyond, and treated us like royalty. From the doormen to the valet to the bell captain to the front desk, to the servers at the wedding and at the restaurant the next day, to the sales manager and the event staff, everyone went above and beyond and was so helpful on what was a crazy weekend for us!
The only thing that frustrated me was that the wedding coordinator we had worked with for months left a week before our wedding, but the people that 21c hired to take his place were amazing, and did everything in their power to make sure we were comfortable and happy. Everything turned out super well, except for a couple of minor snafus, which I'm sure tend to happen on any wedding day. I sent them so many emails over the months leading up to the wedding and they were so responsive.
It's a wonderful, unique venue that truly gives your guests something to marvel at and talk about for months afterwards. Everyone that visited Louisville for our wedding had a fantastic time. Highly recommend.
We sent our wedding at night at 21c, could not have been more perfect. From the drivers who picked us up (and took us to our brunch on Sunday) to the front desk and room service staff, everyone made us feel they were part of making our special day that much more special.
21C was the PERFECT place for a rehearsal dinner. It was so easy to work with them -- they took care of all of the details and allowed us to bring in our own florist and sound system. It is a great way to entertain your bridal party/family/out-of-town wedding guests the night before your wedding -- I imagine it would also be a great place for a smaller wedding reception, as well. The drinks were flowing, the food was divine and the service was superb. Couldn't ask for better!
:)
The museum is incredible. The tiny details everywhere in the building really show you how much thought was put into the place. Such a great hotel.

Awesome
We had about 50 people in the atrium. Dinner was delicious, each guest ordered off a limited menu. The cocktail hour was fun and the venue is great!
We had the 12C limo pick us up from our reception and it was so fun to leave in such a cool and different limo! We had a great stay, and had the best fries with our grilled cheese that we ordered since we were so hungry after celebrating!! 21C is awesome!
My husband and I stayed here our wedding night. AMAZING hotel!! Order room service, you won't be disappointed!
This was a great venue just too expensive for us
Enjoyed the luxery of this hotel for our first night, and the limo pick-up service was a fabulous, fun, surprise for me.
I had such a fabulous experience having my wedding at 21c!! The event staff made planning a joy. They were all easy to communicate with, and catered to all of the special needs that I had! Their rates were very reasonable considering the extraordinary service they provided. 21c provided us with a room block for guests with with very discounted rates, and they were extremely flexible about adding additional rooms. We had our ceremony and reception in the central atrium, and it was just such a beautiful and unique place to have our wedding and celebrate with friends and family!
21C was exceptional in their customer service both for myself and our guests. They were more than accomodating and went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. My only complaint is that not all of my guests received their welcome bags at check in. They wanted to charge $4 per bag to deliver to their rooms. 21c staff played a HUGE role in making the wedding day run smoothly!
This hotel/museum lives up to its reputation! We got ready there and then stayed overnight after the reception. The staff is so helpful and friendly and work very hard to make sure you are taken care of. Our room and bathroom were so modern - loved the decor!
We love staying at 21c whenever we are in town. The service is always top-notch-- the were wonderful with every detail over my wedding weekend (and you can't beat being able to move the penguins around to suit your mood).
I've always thought that 21c was so cool and we were very excited to spend our wedding night there. However, the room wasn't anything over the top at all. It was actually a bit small. I really expected a lot more for the cost.
We had guests stay at this hotel and the bridal party made a quick pit stop for drinks, apps and some fun pictures before heading to the wedding reception. Super great service and awesome food.

loved it
We were picked up in their limo from our reception and met all of our friends for drinks after the wedding. The art exhibits, cocktails, and service was absolutely perfect! The gallery was great for fun pics in my dress :)
very nice place. Very happy.
Both families of the bride and groom stayed here on our wedding night, and it is a very cool hotel. It's jut such a different atmosphere than any typical hotel, and it is nice to have so much visual interest to give people something to do inside the hotel. Our room was very spacious and modern. I would definitely like to stay there again.
I love this hotel, it is unlike any other. However, the other hotels were a little more helpful, and seemed to want you to stay there more, I would still definitly suggest 21C
