We just had our wedding this March at Ruby Hill (Pleasanton, CA) , I wanted to write a review when its still fresh in my mind. Arren was ABSOLUTELY amazing DJ. We have several gues...
t come to me to ask where Arren was from. Our wedding guests were consist of older generations and introvert people we both were concerned how dancing time would go. Arren somehow made all the guest join and they all had AMAZING TIME including my parents. I've never seem my parents dance that long and really enjoying this type of dance party.
The reason I put three stars are because the sound system for outside ceremony was very poor. The music for walking down the aisle was most important, but I wasn't able to hear it. When we were walking out after the ceremony is over, we couldnt hear music well again that I remember being disappointed when we were exiting. We got some feedbacks from the guests that they werent able to hear music well. I was confused walking down the aisle with my dad. I felt like this is a rehearsal without any music. We spent so much time picking specific songs to make those important moments to be impactful, but it didnt happen. I also thought it was odd to use a huge hand holding microphone for our vows. (also rotate with officiant) The microphone was not powerful enough we had to put our mouth so close ,actually touching, in order for it to be loud enough for guest to hear. I've never seen bride and groom holding the huge microphone for their vows these days. I thought technology and equipments for outside ceremony was outdated.
My husband communicated mostly with this company and I trusted the quality of the sound system, but my own experience on the day of ceremony with their equipments for outdoor was disappointing.
Arren made it up at the reception/dance time with his amazing DJ skills, but still sad how important moment of ceremony got ruined with poor equipments.
I highly recommend 21st Century Sounds. Brian, the owner, is very responsive and thorough, not to mention fun to work with. He's got great ideas on how to throw a party and will he...
lp you build your day-of timeline. We had DJ Aaren and I also highly recommend him. In addition to being a skilled emcee, Aaren kindly offered his help with anything, whether DJ related or not. He kept the energy high and was able to adjust the timeline on the fly without any drama. Huge thanks to 21s Century Sounds for making our event a big success.
21st Century Sounds helped make our wedding the amazing experience that it was! Brian spent a lot of time with us in advance to help us plan out the overall timeline, and choose th...
e perfect songs for each key event from the beginning of the ceremony through the reception. He was extremely responsive to all of our questions and requests for tweaks in the plan and playlist throughout the time leading up to our wedding day. On the day of, our DJ, Joey, was professional and entertaining, and kept the day flowing right on track and the beats pumping during the reception!
Everything about 21st Century Sounds, from the equipment, to the team, to Brian’s personal touch, is first class. The entire experience was extremely low stress and easy, and the day of was a blast and couldn't have gone better. Highly recommend for anyone looking to hire a DJ for a wedding or any other special event!
Brian was amazing! He has a very cool voice and was loved by us and all my guests. He was very helpful with the planning, patient and did not disappoint. We had so much fun dancing...
and his playlist was perfect! He pronounced everyone's name correctly and was a great MC! We got blue lighting in addition and it was awesome! We highly recommend Brian! :) We had people I have never seen dance dancing most of the night! He has great ideas about making the night more special and getting everyone involved in the dances... it was a big hit! :) Thanks so much Brian!
I had the pleasure of working with Brian and Joey for my wedding on October 7th. I was lucky enough to witness both Brian and Joey DJ'ing other weddings so it was an easy decision ...
for me to select 21st Century Sounds for my wedding. Both are excellent MC's and played a great mix of songs. Brian was so great to work with throughout the planning process from creating the entire event timeline, responding to my dozens of emails with changes (changed a couple special dance songs week of the wedding!!!), and was there for me with answers to all of my questions in a timely manner. Joey was my DJ for the day of, but he is unfortunately moving to Las Vegas and we were his 2nd to last wedding in California. He was fabulous and a testament to the caliber of DJ's Brian wants to have on his team. If you are looking for a professional, fun, and awesome DJ for your wedding, please consider Brian and the team at 21st Century Sounds!!
Brian and our DJ, Arren, worked hard to create a fun and worry-free wedding day for us. Brian is impressively prompt when responding to emails and really friendly to chat with when...
ever we were on the phone. His list of 200 most-requested wedding songs is a great jumping-off point, and we ended up getting really into the song list, adding a lot of our own choices, which Brian and Arren did a great job incorporating into the day.
At the wedding, Arren was super friendly, checking in with us often to make sure we were doing alright and seeing if he could do anything to help out. He did an awesome job mixing two songs together for our first dance, and was really helpful working with our other vendors to make announcements and introductions.
We felt like we had a really personalized DJ experience and I'm so glad we worked with them for our wedding.
I highly recommend Brian and our DJ Johnathan! The whole experience was easy, strait forward and worry free which is worth its weight in gold when planning and executing a wedding....
Right from the beginning, Brian and his team were responsive (first to respond after contacting a few different DJs). After chatting with Brian on the phone, I knew we had found our DJ. He was extremely professional and wanted to make things as easy for us as he could. He sent us a very clear quote and an excellent example reception timeline that we customized to fit our plan. We chatted on the phone once we had a rough schedule and Brian took the time to go through each element, throwing out suggestions and making sure he knew how to pronounce names. From there we basically just emailed back and forth tweaks and changes until we had it down.
The day of went great. We went with one of the associates, Johnathan, who did an amazing job. He was extremely flexible and did a great job managing all the guests making request and asking to make a toast. The music selection was excellent and kept a good flow with the schedule and keeping people dancing.
We also used them for uplighting and it looked great!
This review is long overdue, Arren is the best DJ ever!!! He did our wedding at Bound Oak Golf Course on August 6, 2016. He did a excellent job and everyone said that they loved hi...
m. We met with him a couple weeks before the wedding to review our custom song list. He played all our songs and kept the party going! We hired him for the MC/DJ of the ceremony and the reception. I highly recommend him!! By the way, Brian did very good with communicating with us thru emails and keeping us up to date! If you want a good DJ, contact this company!
Brian at 21st Century Sounds is incredible! While he wasn't actually our DJ at our wedding, he was so incredibly easy to work with throughout the planning process! He went above an...
d beyond to make the process hassle free and efficient. From the initial meeting, he provided great song recommendations, but was also completely open to hearing our preferences and selections. He is incredibly responsive to emails and will do anything he can to ensure your DJ needs are met. He even helped troubleshoot our slideshow DVD when the copy I sent him would not work and we were just a few days away from the wedding. Joey was also great to work with on the day of our wedding. He went with the flow and was ready to make all of the last minute changes/adjustments we requested on the day of. I would absolutely use 21st Century Sounds again and would highly recommend them!
Brian at 21st Century Sounds (the owner) was so helpful and accommodating with arranging meetings and making helpful suggestions for music for our wedding day. On the actual day we...
had Bart as our DJ, and he was AWESOME!!!! He came over and asked if he could help with anything at all, including anything we needed not related to music. I thought it was so nice that he wanted to do what he could to make sure everything went perfectly. Everyone danced the whole time, to every song, myself included. We just couldn't stop, the music was too good! We had a couple guests who tend to leave early from weddings and they stayed the whole time and raved about what a great time they had. I really can't say enough good things about Bart and Brian, they really made the night. The DJ is so important at wedding as they don't just play music but also make announcements and keep everything on schedule. I would highly recommend 21st Century Sounds to anyone needing a great DJ!
We had the pleasure of working with Arren. He fit our personalities perfect and provided a wonderful atmosphere. Our guests loved him and even though it was chilly and out doors, w...
e had a full dance floor until after the last song ended.
Brian, the business owner is great to work with in the planning stages. He's flexible and attentive which as a customer feel good
The truth is, we were already fairly certain who we wanted our DJ to be when we started looking for our wedding. My mom actually went to high school with Brian and used his DJ comp...
any, 21st Century Sounds to play at a surprise birthday party for my dad many years ago. We had a great time then, so we knew they were amazing. What we didn't know was that, since then, he had added several talented people to his team. Arren, the DJ we had for our wedding, was one of those talented people.
Arren was incredible. He went above and beyond my expectations for a DJ. He didn't just play great songs or put together fun playlists. He was also actively involved in making sure everyone was having a great time. He came by half way through and asked me what I thought about the songs, volume etc to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. I later learned he also checked in with my groom, his parents, my parents and the maid of honor and best man to get more opinions and make changes accordingly. He kept us on time (according to the timeline we created with Brian in a meeting), and having fun throughout the entire reception. A month and a half later we're still having guests rave about him and his ability to keep people on the dance floor!
When surprises came up, such as one of the groomsmen putting me and my husband up in chairs (Jewish wedding style), he ran with it. When a bridesmaid got overheated and need to leave, he was there (apparently he also works in the ER part time?) to make sure she was ok and send her to get treated accordingly. When things got a little rowdy after we left, he handled it.
If I could give him ten stars in a review, I absolutely would. He, and 21st Century Sounds, were that good.
Thanks Arren and Brian!!!
We had a great experience with 21st Century Sounds. The owner, Brian, was our DJ, and he did a fantastic job. My husband and I were a little overwhelmed trying to select music for...
the wedding, so we put a lot of trust in Brian to select the reception music and he definitely delivered. Our guests filled the dance floor the whole night, and several friends commented on how much they liked the music.
21st Century Sounds did a great job at our wedding. i was very specific about what music i wanted played at what times (for the ceremony, the cocktail hour, and the reception), an...
d i made playlists that accounted for most of the time of the whole event.
Arren, the DJ who worked our event, was super fun, totally willing to do everything i wanted, and he was kind when my mom kept coming up to him asking him to turn the music down! i gave him the list of must plays and high priorities and then gave him license to fill in the rest… he gave us a great mix of music that included all my must plays, accommodated guest requests, and still stayed clear of the songs i DIDN'T want played (because i'd heard them at every other wedding i've been to).
before the event itself, i worked with Brian, the owner of the company. he was cool and certainly accommodated all my specific needs in terms of the music… the only reason i didn't give him 5 stars overall is because he said he'd follow up with me several weeks before the wedding to talk more about playlists, and he ended up not getting in touch until a few days before the wedding. i could have gotten in touch with him to be sure, but as the wedding got closer i got more and more swamped, so i kept not getting to it in hopes that he'd call me. when he finally did get in touch and we worked out the playlists, it turned out he didn't have many of the songs i wanted to play, so i had to get them to him on relatively short notice. no big deal, but he wasn't so tech savvy, so it took longer to get him what he needed than it would have if he was more current with his technology (like google drive or dropbox or something like that).
these are small issues really… Brian and Arren were both a pleasure to work with, and i had exactly the music at my wedding that i wanted. i would definitely recommend these guys. :)
We hired Brian as our wedding DJ; he came highly recommended and we are very happy with him! He did such a great job getting everyone on their feet! He truly contributed to a memor...

I could an essay of love and positivity for Brian at 21st Century Sounds Custom DJ Entertainment. But I won't. Here are a few reasons why you should run and jump to hire Brian, bec...
ause he and his team, and true gems.
1) They are good people. Seriously. Brian remembered small details about our lives as we moved through our year of planning, and asked us about them everytime we saw him. He bought us dinner at one of pre-wedding dinner sessions. He ease my fears about family conflicts at the wedding and did WAY more than we expected him to during the actual event. We also asked him to stay for 30 minutes past our contract and he refused to bill us for it. Such a good guy.
2) They know their music. We have strong opinions, and the whole team of our wedding theme was classic (80s and 90s) hip-hop and R&B. This wasn't necessarily Brian's speciality, but he rolled with it. He bought a few albums for us with music we specifically wanted and added his own flair to the musical selection through the night.
3) They know how to throw a party. I didn't expect for Brian and his team to keep guests entertained, but he totally did. Everyone loved him and had an absolute blast.
Our wedding was one of the best nights of my life. Thank you, Brian, for keeping the dance floor packed.
