When we decided what specific elements we wanted to have, he provided us with plenty of options and wrote an outline going over what he was going to say and how long the ceremony would be before the day so we could plan our schedule. He made sure to guide us throughout and made us feel at ease throughout the entire process.
The ceremony itself went very smooth and he was able to adapt to changes (our ceremony was moved indoors last minute due to inclement weather) without any problems.

Pastor Carlos did a good job at creating a personalized ceremony and incorporating traditional pieces that were important to us. It was a bit daunting to book an officiant over the internet that did not have a personal tie to us, but he was abl...
e to add a religious component we were looking for outside of the church. Our downfall with Pastor Carlos was the mispronunciation of my husband’s name. We corrected him multiple times in the meetings prior to the big day, over the phone and through email. I was so concerned about it happening the day of our wedding, I sent him an email with the correct pronunciation and phonetic spelling. Although he told us he had it down, and would continue to practice, he unfortunately mispronounced our name multiple times throughout the ceremony and introduced us as the new Mr. and Mrs. incorrectly. Typically, it wouldn’t bother us if someone mispronounced our name, but it was quite embarrassing to hear it go wrong in front of our closest friends and family, especially after multiple attempts to correct it. It made the ceremony feel much less personal and gave it the fearful “we found our officiant online” vibe. All in all, we can laugh about it now, and for years to come, as we watch our wedding video, but it sure was a bummer at the time.

With Pastor Carlos' years of experience as an officiant, he has created a great way to help his clients tailor their ceremony so that it is truly one of a kind. We got and still get so many compliments from our guests about how special our ceremony was. Due to Pastor Carlos and the unique personal touches we were able to integrate into our wedding ceremony, our ceremony was the highlight of our wedding. so Pastor Carlos fit our needs perfectly. We interviewed quite a few officiants prior to our big day. Pastor Carlos actually cared about our story (how we met, the details of our wedding, who we were as a couple), and he helped create the perfect ceremony for us. He has a great selection of Bible verses, pledges, readings, blessings, poems, ceremony options (e.g. a Commitment Box or Rose Ceremony), yet you can add whatever you like to make your ceremony personal (we wrote our own vows). My husband and I were living on opposite sides of the country, yet we found that Pastor Carlos was very easy to communicate with, extremely responsive, and so very kind and flexible! On our wedding day, he was prompt, professional, very articulate, and made us feel like family. We could not have asked for a better officiant for our perfect San Diego wedding!

He also does a great job making the couple feel comfortable with all components of the ceremony and even does a follow up phone call the week of the wedding to run through and confirm everything. He was so warm, welcoming, and easy to talk to from the start, not to mention super organized and professional. His experience was evident from the get go. Several weeks before the wedding, he sent us multiple options for readings, vows, etc. to give us ideas but always emphasized us being able to tailor it however we felt suited us. About a week before our wedding, we had a phone call where he talked us through the entire ceremony. The day of ended up being a pretty hot day (beach wedding) and to our relief, he felt the crowd fading so he very discretely cut the ceremony a bit short and nobody noticed. The only downfall I felt was that he does not attend the rehearsal, which, while probably not totally necessary given his experience, I think it might have helped the wedding party feel a little more organized and at ease the day of. Other than that, he was a perfect fit for us!

We did premarital counseling with Pastor Carlos before our wedding. We went into it feeling like we had everything working in our favor, and to be honest, the thought of someone critiquing our relationship made us a little bit nervous. But it wasn't that way at all- our discussion was very comfortable and open and afterward we felt even more confident in our relationship and more prepared with important tools/skills for a successful marriage.
Our ceremony was absolutely flawless- Pastor Carlos had a lot of ceremony options to choose from and I felt that we were able to find ones that conveyed our individual thoughts and emotions. Just browsing through his book of ceremony options caused me to tear up! He was very attentive to our wishes and made sure that he had everything just the way we would want. We had many comments on how Pastor Carlos' message was so relevant and inspiring. He is very genuine and just has a very beautiful way of speaking, and we are fortunate to have a wedding video that will allow us to re-experience it.

I loved getting to know couples and including them into the processing of creating a wedding that reflects them and that they will love. It brings me much joy blessing others!
A little about me... I've been happily married to Lisa since 1987, and we have 4 grown children. In 2017-2018, in a matter of 15 months all 3 of our daughters got married! YES, I walked them down and officiated their ceremonies. ;-) I run a non-profit international mission's organization called Reaching the Hungry, so I've travel around many times. I enjoy hiking, traveling, and riding my motorcycle.
