First, the location: Dubois is the perfect mix of pristine mountain views, a charming town full of character and friendly people, and an unmatched closeness to nature that’s hard to find in more popular areas like Jackson. It’s easy to overlook Dubois as you drive through on 26 — maybe stopping for gas or a photo with the Giant Jackalope — but the area is incredible, with plenty to do for both outdoor adventurers and those who prefer browsing the shops on the quaint main strip (highly recommend the Opportunity Shop). One of the best parts of choosing Dubois for our wedding was how it encouraged friends who had never been to Wyoming to come out and explore. Many flew into Jackson and turned it into a full trip, visiting the Tetons and/or Yellowstone — and had an absolute blast.
As for the venue itself: We weren’t able to visit in person beforehand — work schedules meant we had to rely on photos, reviews like this one, and FaceTime calls with my parents. But within 15 minutes of arriving at 3 Spear Ranch, we knew we’d made the right choice. The Ranch sits elevated in the valley just south of Dubois and feels like an oasis, complete with natural warm springs (perfect for a late-night swim) and lush lawns that rival the greens at Antelope Hills Golf Course (also a great activity for golf-loving guests). Touring the cabins where our friends and family would stay, I was blown away by how spacious and unique each one was. We stayed in the Albright, which was delightful — a beautiful clawfoot tub looked out over an epic view of the badlands and Absaroka Range. We held our ceremony on the front lawn, which shares that same breathtaking view. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect place to say our vows, and our guests continually remarked on how special the setting was.
I’ve saved the most important part of what made this venue exceptional for last — the people. Michael, who manages the Ranch with Tyler, went above and beyond throughout the weekend — picking up pizzas in town, organizing last-minute horseback rides, and even stoking the sauna fire at 1 a.m. after our late-night swim. Dawn, the head chef, and her team crafted some of the most delicious meals I’ve ever had — and even made sure we had leftovers waiting in our fridge the morning after our wedding. Every staff member we met was warm, kind, and clearly invested in making the weekend unforgettable.

rip! We decided to go horseback riding and have a photo shoot during our wedding weekend, and our photographer found this gem of a spot—and we’re so glad she did.
From the moment we arrived (an hour late due to traffic and a hectic morning), the staff could not have been more understanding or gracious. Every single person we encountered was so kind and welcoming, with several team members congratulating us on our marriage and making us feel genuinely celebrated.
Our guide, AJ, was absolutely phenomenal. He made us feel incredibly comfortable throughout the entire ride—kind, calm, patient, and so supportive of our photo shoot. He never made us feel rushed or out of place, and his easygoing nature helped turn a chaotic morning into one of our favorite memories of the weekend.
One of the coolest surprises was learning that AJ is actually from a small town near where my husband and I currently live. That little hometown connection made the experience feel even more personal and special—it was such a wholesome and unexpected moment that added an extra layer of meaning to the ride.
The whole experience was relaxed, joyful, and filled with warmth. If you’re looking for a scenic, meaningful, and welcoming place to ride—especially to celebrate a milestone like a wedding—this is 1000% the place. We’re so grateful to have found them and will remember this ride forever!

What really drew me to this location was the fact that catering, reception and ceremony can all be done by the ranch! So convenient and less stressful. Not to mention the views of course.
Mike and Tyler, the main managers, really went beyond what they had to with helping make our wedding day special and what we wanted, including helpful suggestions!
More on the food; you can tell when it’s made with pride and passion. Chef Dawn and crew are no exception to this!!

ievably helpful in pointing us to all the right (pre stay) directions; from wedding planner to portable toilets for our camping & RV guests. But they also provided a warm, welcoming, safe, highly entertaining and immensely FUN environment for our family & friends. Most importantly my husband and myself!
You cant find a more stunning portion of private wyoming land! You get to experience the best parts of the west, ridding, fishing, exploring, hiking, and relaxing. And return to your cozy cabin with just enough luxury to make any anti-wilderness, fussy family member comfortable. But still all the true western charm you can imagine. Trust me, this is a wyoming family run business and they put their heart and souls in to every inch.
