This venue was exactly what we were looking for. It's far from the hotel ballroom scene with bad carpet, which we wanted to stay far away from. My now husband and I met in Colorado, while we both are from different states, so we decided to ha...ve a wedding representative of the state that brought us together. 4 Eagle Ranch sits in a valley about 25 miles west of Vail, and it's actually an old ranch from the late 1800s. Some of the old structures keep the ranch looking rustic, however, the newest wedding venue on the property is brand new. The event center was just finished this last year, and was made to be an indoor/outdoor venue with large garage doors that can stay open or closed. Word has it that the floors are even heated in case it's cold. My favorite part about this venue was the ceremony site, which is a beautiful outdoor wedding pavilion that perfectly frames a picturesque mountain range. Another plus for us was that if the weather turned bad, then the ceremony could be moved into the event center, which had a giant garage door framing the same mountains. So it's a good choice if you really want to be outside, but still have a rain option.
We were ultimately looking for a Colorado rustic wedding, and we found it with this venue. It is very much a ranch, and maybe that is not for everyone... There is only buffet for the in house catering, but it is spectacular food, we are still getting comments on how good the food is. The staff is wonderful and so helpful in making your day exactly what you want it to be.
If wanting to go for more of the rustic "elegant" wedding here, you will need to rent linens and most of your items (plates, flatware, etc.), because again, this is a ranch...and although it's starting to do a lot of weddings now, it seems to be mostly set up for corporate bbqs, country western nights, etc.
Very seriously though, this place is a gem, and for me it was a beautiful canvas to have the exact wedding I was looking for. Some extra bonuses of the venue is the amazing 6-bedroom guest house which the bride can get ready in prior to ceremony. Also, the horse drawn carriage ride for the wedding party post ceremony was an amazing touch as well.
Again, if you're looking for the banquet style plated reception, then this place might not be for you. But if you're looking for a unique venue that highlights the best of Colorado, this is your place!
