401 Caterer is reasonably priced, very helpful and organized. They cook on site and the food is fresh and delicious. Our garden party turned out to be a very stormy day. They quickly adapted to the weather. We would use them again !!

our wedding and they were the best hands down. The planning process was great, always so responsive with emails. They also did a lot of extra work on the day of the wedding that was above and beyond. For some background, our wedding was at Roger Williams botanical center which has no extra items that come with it so we rented tables, chairs, linens and goblets from a separate rental company. They set up everything in the greenhouse in the limited time they had to set up the day of. We had our chairs switch over to a different room after the ceremony and they helped move all of them. We had ordered desserts/cake from a separate company and didn’t have any display shelves. 401 brought extra display shelves for everything and set up all the desserts when it was time. I am a foodie who is also vegetarian and the passed hors d'oeuvres were all vegetarian, and they were all amazing and we got so many comments that everyone (non vegetarians included) loved all of them. The dinner was a buffet of food that we chose and all if it was so good, even better than when we had our trial run. We had a great variety, and everything was properly labeled. I want to plan another event just so I can have their food again cause I’m still dreaming about how good all of it was.

our enthusiasm, but brought it to a higher level. We dreamed of a farm to table New England dinner and they hit that from day one. Every bite of food was not only delicious, but perfectly prepared and presented in an elegant way that highlighted the ingredients. From a bride’s perspective, I did not have to worry about a single thing! They were organized, on time, communicative and excellent partners during the whole planning process. Mark and Elizabeth made the day for us and our guests an unforgettable experience and everyone has been raving about the food since. I would hire them again in a heartbeat for any party and could not recommend a better partner for catering than Mark, Elizabeth and their team.

go on? My husband and I have a high bar when it comes to food, his mother was a chef for 30 years. So when we say “hire them”, do it. The only thing our guests said to us all night was “the food was AMAZING”. Not anything about my dress, decor, or anything else hahah. But you know they’re that perfect when even after the wedding that’s all my guests still say to me! Mark and the crew even made sure two guests with dairy allergies had modifications. Elizabeth made sure to stay in constant communication even during the busy summer wedding months, they also were able to get furniture rentals with an outside company and included that in their price. At the end of the night, they boxed up the rest of the food for me and my husband to take home. We went buffet style, we HIGHLY recommend the short ribs with ribbon pasta in cream sauce! Mark says he braises them for about 4 hours (I believe!). There’s a reason there’s 13 five-star reviews on here! If I could give them 1,000 stars I would.

Our guests were raving about the catering all night, and our other vendors told us 401 was the best catering service they had ever seen. They served our 100 guest wedding at a private residence with no hiccups. Thank you for the perfect day!

wners I really wanted Rhode Island staples. We had stuffies, lobster rolls and clam cakes. My new husband is a bit pickier, so we also had some delicious sliders for the less adventurous folks.
Mark is a small/medium sized business owner that has less admin to help him communicate. Despite this, he works so hard to still make sure he's being as responsive as possible. I was so incredibly happy with our choice to go with him instead of one of the "big guys".
He hustles, he listened to all of my needs, and he made my dream wedding food happen. I could not be more grateful for him and his team. Truly an incredible business owner THANK YOU MARK!!!

The food. It was fantastic! Every guest we talked to said the food was delicious, the staff friendly and attentive, and the organization on point.

The menu was delicious and all of our meal options and cocktail hour apps were adored by our guests. He checked in with us throughout the night to see how everything was and it was so appreciated.

absolutely delicious and everyone was talking about it at the wedding. They even boxed up leftovers for people to have at the after party! Mark worked very closely with us on the menu, food allergies, and doing a site visit ahead of the wedding. I would recommend him to anyone!

r a tasting and it was absolutely unbelievable. He treated us to appetizers and mini portions of the entrees we were considering. As soon as we left we KNEW Mark was our guy. He was very receptive to our unique idea for serving dinner in a small plate style and basically told us “anything is possible”. Mark and his team were a true dream to work with and anyone hosting an event would be lucky to have them. His team even sought my dad out to make sure he got the scallop wrapped in bacon he was looking for! I have told any of my engaged friends (or anyone hosting an event) they MUST reach out to 401 Gourmet because they are simply the BEST. I honestly cannot say enough good things about 401 Gourmet.

ro wedding). He was responsive and helpful from start to finish. I had 3 weeks to plan my wedding, and he made is completely seamless.
In the initial stages, I was provided with options for different needs including food allergies and Vegan options. They helped me navigate needs I would forget to ask for as well. They were a one-stop-shop for rentals as well (helped me coordinate table, linen, place setting, etc rentals).
The food was absolutely exquisite from appetizer to soup to salad to main course. I could not decide between sour or salad, so I chose both. The pear salad, the tomato fennel crab soup- both were amazing. The steaks were cooked to a perfect temperature. The swordfish was juicy. The Thai Curry Veggie plates were licked clean.
All the staff who assisted were super wonderful. The servers were discrete and helpful. Everyone was so cheery- it felt like they were just as excited for my wedding as my guests were.
The team did a fantastic job of cleaning up everything and leaving the venue spotless.
I live out of state, but will absolutely use 401 every time I travel to MA at every opportunity.
