409 is an absolutely stunning venue! The rustic interior and South Main Street views make excellent backdrops for photos. The space easily fit my count of ~200 guests, no issues with crowded restrooms either. The space offers a nice, private room for the the newlyweds to have a private dinner, if you choose. I would also recommend the rooftop for some beautiful couples sunset and skyline photos!
The air conditioning was BROKEN the day of my wedding, everyone was dripping with sweat. They cannot keep management and the business has already been sold. Before any of this I would have said it’s a great value for the price which is why I gave it any stars at all.
Excellent staff and beautiful location for a wedding.
I experience here for my 10 year anniversary wedding was over and beyond my expectations .I will book this venue again.
Rebecca at 409 is a God send. She's so easy to communicate and plan with! The pricing is so affordable for the space and amenities available to you. The re-done bride and grooms room, the room to eat in, the floors, the lights, and the exposed brick are all so beautiful. It was the perfect place for our reception!
My husband and I just got married (5/5/18) and we couldn't have asked for a better venue for both our ceremony and reception. The venue was breathtaking and it providing amazing light for our photos throughout the day. The owners are super easy to work with and are willing to offer any help and suggestions that may be missing in the wedding details. We got married on one of the busiest weekends in may... Music Fest Weekend... parking was hardly an issue considering the various parking lots/spaces surrounding the venue. I definitely recommend this venue if you are looking for a industrial/historical chic interior with romantic lighting to capture the mood. It was a definitely a dream venue for us!
409 is everything we imagined in a venue for our wedding and more. We booked the space during the renovations and it turned out BEAUTIFULLY. Rebecca is AMAZING to work with. She's prompt in communication, so helpful in answering all of our questions, and was always available for showings when we needed the space. The space has everything you need - minimal decorations needed. And what I loved most was that we were able to spend the whole day there! We did our ceremony and reception in the same space. And with the bridal suite and groom's lounge and beautiful spots for pictures we didn't have to worry about going anywhere the whole day allowing us to enjoy our entire day in this beautiful space.
It was absolutely perfect. Such a beautiful space and required minimal decorations to make it our own. Rebecca has made this something incredibly special and was so easy to work with. I hated to leave it at the end of the night.
The space at 409 S Main is a dream. It is so big and open and gives you lots of room to create different spaces for the ceremony, reception and dance floor. In addition, the men's and women's lounges (plus the additional private lounge) are fun spaces for wedding parties to get ready and relax.
I would highly recommend 409 S Main to anyone wanting a special wedding, party, celebration. You won't be disappointed.
409 S. Main is absolutely amazing. The owner, Rebecca, goes above and beyond to work with the bride and groom and help however she can. She was extremely flexible working with our schedules and went above and beyond to meet us whenever we needed to walk through the venue for last minute details. She is prompt at answering phone calls & emails. She truly cares about her customers and is a joy to work with. I would highly recommend 409 S. main to anyone! We had 325-350 guests & absolutely everyone loved what the venue had to offer!
Mrs. Rebecca was amazing. She not only had an amazing venue but she was there during my rehearsal when I had a breakdown and she gave great advice and moral support!!! The day of she was there to assist with the entire setup. I couldn’t have asked for better.
This is an amazing venue.
First, it's right in downtown Memphis. It's literally across the street from the National Civil Rights Museum and only steps away from the world-famous Peabody Hotel, the Rendezvous, Central BBQ, Beale Street, and the Mississippi River!
Second, the owner is a delight to work with and the space is large and open--so you can arrange events however you'd like.
Third, the recently completed renovations have maintained the charm of this former cannery--there are beautiful, original hardwood floors, exposed brick, and period warehouse windows--while offering modern amenities. The bathrooms--especially the lounge attached to the women's bathroom--are breathtaking. They were a great place to hang out as we got ready for our wedding and made for some really beautiful photos.
Fourth, as of April 2017, outside vendors were permitted--which means you can choose your own caterer, your own florist, your own DJ. Basically, you can get the wedding YOU want rather than being forced into the same choices everyone else in a given space has had to make and YOU can decide how much to spend of various services!
Bottom line: if you are looking for a distinctly Memphis venue with all the attractions and character the city has to offer, I promise you won't find anything more perfect! Book it and don't look back!
This venue is gorgeous. The owners have put so much love into renovating the upstairs space. It is the perfect venue for a downtown wedding. It captures the roots of the south main district perfectly. And the owners are amazing - so sweet and accommodating! I am so incredibly glad we found this gem to get married at. <3
The environment was timeless & just our style. Too bad they sold the place for a historical education use for the city of Memphis. So this year is their last year to serve weddings =(
I initially booked my wedding here for May 18, 2013 but I had to change my location because there were so many other activities going on downtown that weekend. The owners were really nice and they are one of the very few that allow you to use your own caterer
This is a perfect venue for a couple that wants an informal or formal wedding. Because the venue managers do not limit who you can do business with, it is also great for a couple on a budget. Dustin is easy to work with, accommodating, and extremely responsive to your needs. I love the venue itself... they have made upgrades since I booked it, and it is unique and beautiful piece of downtown Memphis
This venue is located in the historic South Main district of downtown Memphis. It is an old art gallery with a quasi-three level set-up. Essentially, you have three different spaces without sacrificing a loss of connection between the spaces as they are all open to each other. The cost is very affordable and the manager works very hard to accommodate. Rentals are available through the manager as well for further convenience. Also, when we had a wedding morning snafu with a double booked parking lot next to the location (through another vendor), the reception venue manager went the extra mile to make sure that we had the parking lot that night. It was incredible. I highly recommend this location!
