440 Elm's Italian Renaissance columns only hint at the Grand Ballroom that greets guests inside. Few expect the height of the 30' coffered ceilings as they walk through leaded glass mahogany doors.
Our couples value an elegant and unique setting, highly personalized experiences, and the option to bring the energy of music and dancing late into the night.
This is a rare Southern California venue where a black-tie or formal reception unfolds naturally and photographs accordingly. Built by Elmer Grey in 1913, immediately following the Beverly Hills Hotel, you can feel the craft of a major work by a master architect. 30' Coffered ceilings, grand chandeliers, multi-story stained glass windows, leaded glass doors, a black and white foyer - you feel like you've stepped back into a more elegant past. The venue was remarkable, even for that era, and was featured in The American Architect (1914) and Architectural Digest (1922), among others.
The full day exclusive reservation provides design and timeline flexibility with setup or activities starting in the morning and music and dancing up to 1am. Multiple-part events and multi-day events are welcome. Select from indoor and outdoor options for ceremony and cocktail hour with the combination of passionfruit vine-walled Plaza and exposed brick Parlor. Bespoke menus can draw on American, Asian, European, Indian, Latin, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern influences in any service format: incorporate family favorites, fuse cuisines across cultures, throw in a college flashback in your late-night snack. Our 20K sq. ft of event space are well suited for wedding parties from 100-425 with dance floor.

We just had our wedding here in October and it was a dream come true. First, the venue itself is STUNNING! Its a historical building that they preserved a lot of old architecture. ...
So the ceilings are high, there's massive pillars and stain glass windows. Just a timeless classic! It made it so we didn't have to spend so much on decorations because the venue brought together most of the magic!
As for the team you deal with, I can't express in enough words how wonderful Elizabeth, Vijay and their whole team are! They answered every questions. concern, and helped us put all our ideas together. They were responsive and thoughtful. And the food....OMG! The food compliments we received. They catered a special menu that fit mine and my husbands cultures together and all of our favorites. We were so pleased! This was NOT your average wedding food, it was elevated, beautifully presented, and delicious!
