I hate to write this review for 5 Star itself, but I feel it's valuable information for brides in search of a venue that includes "coordination services." I am giving 3 stars becau...
se while this is a stunning venue, the day-of coordination services that you pay for as part of booking it is not worth your money.
Before the wedding - The coordinator was pretty absent the entire time leading up to our events and didn't make an effort to help "coordinate" much at all (I assume because at the time I wanted to plan everything myself, and we couldn't afford their other planning packages). When we did meet upon my request, they never remembered our names or key details of our events. I also never received a timeline from the coordinator, as promised in the contract. I constantly felt like a bother to them asking basic questions or trying to schedule a venue visit. There was one email exchange so abrasive that I considered changing venues because of this person.
During the wedding day - the coordinator was again mostly absent, and I spoke to them exactly two times the entire day. Both me (the bride) and at least two guests had to ask them multiple times to remove neighbors' dogs from the pavilion while we were taking photos. I never saw the coordinator during the reception, except for at the bar having a glass of wine or driving up and down the road in the Gator.
In between events of the wedding weekend, the encounters we did have with the coordinator were needlessly abrasive (as they were leading up to the wedding). There were multiple instances of this kind of behavior towards our guests that happened before the reception that I will leave out here.
I'm so grateful I found a different day-of coordinator within budget because I don't know what would have happened had I trusted this person to do what was outlined in the day-of services. I understand there may have been confusion because I hired a second coordinator, but there isn't an excuse for unprofessional behavior.
We don't have any regrets in choosing 5 Star, but the guise of having basic coordination services caused so much unnecessary stress in what was already a very hectic time. I am purposefully not leaving a Google Review because this person has a separate events business that appears to be very successful - just don't book them for weddings.
The five star lodge was such a beautiful and unique place to have a wedding! Even with a bit of rain, we had the most beautiful wedding - it was even more perfect than I had imagin...
ed. We really liked that we could do everything ourselves as it gave us the freedom to chose everything and make it just how we wanted. Renting the lodge along with the pavilion and staying with family and friends makes the whole experience more enjoyable, and the lodge is so stunning as well! We are hoping to come back to 5 star for our 5 year anniversary so we can enjoy this beautiful place with friends and family again!
This is an exceptionally beautiful venue for a long weekend wedding. The staff are helpful and amazing, the views are incredible and the lodging allows for close family and friends...
to stay on sight for the weekend. We rented the pavilion in addition to the lodge and accommodated college friends. The pavilion is also a unique and gorgeous spot for the ceremony. We could not have been happier with our choice of venue.
Although the wedding wasn't at the 5 Star lodge, all our family from TX, IL, Alaska, and GA stayed here. 23 total. Very comfortable. The groom and his 5 groomsmen stayed in the pav...
ilion the night before the wedding. Plenty of room for everyone and lots of bathrooms for getting ready. Had a great kitchen for fixing the big country breakfast on morning of wedding. We stayed 3 nights total and we all wanted to stay longer. Beautiful place. A couple of the singles stated they'd love to get married there. I loved the stables and all the horses. Roxanne was very helpful and a joy. I highly recommend the location.
We had our wedding at the 5 Star Lodge in September 2016. The Venue was incredible!! It was perfect for 100 guests, with plenty of room both under the Pavilion and outside on the g...
rassy area. We had a full catered meal by one of the local restaurants and they did a spectacular job handling everything. The true beauty of the 5 Star is that we had family and friends from out of town and were able to accommodate 30 people under one roof. It was so nice to spend the entire weekend together rather then just a few hours during the wedding. I highly recommend this Venue for anyone looking for a high-end classy wedding in the Georgia Mountains
