We used 74 Events and James Arnold for our wedding this spring and would 100% recommend both. Gary was professional and responsive throughout the process and gave helpful insights about how to think about small details like microphones, processional songs and first dance timing. James Arnold knocked out of the park as our DJ -- we filled out a detailed worksheet and had one call to explain the vibe we were going for on the dance floor and James completely understood the assignment. We had the best dance party of our lives and guests of all ages told us how much they enjoyed the music.

His set very closely emulated our inspiration playlist but James was able to make it his own - mixing some songs and adding additional music that fit the vibe we were going for. He killed it!

We loved working with Jeremy and it was a bit serendipitous because we originally picked another DJ who ended up being booked. Both Gary and Jeremy are super professional, up front with cost and expectations. All meetings were timely and to the point. Jeremy followed our requests to a T which, upon reflection, were probably some confusing instructions. We requested that he not play any controversial artists but then provided some specific songs of said controversial people. He didn't question us, understood exactly what we were asking, and executed with excellence. Our biggest request was to have people dancing all night, knowing only an amazing DJ could fulfill the request, and we got exactly that: guests dancing all night, complimenting us days/weeks/months after that we had a great DJ who brought them back to their dancing days. We also had a specific request to have our first dance sung by a family friend. Jeremy arranged a mic-test during set up so everything would run smoothly, something we were not expecting but were incredibly grateful for. He worked closely with our friend via email to ensure they were working with the correct track, timing, announcements, etc. We also requested some pretty niche artists which Jeremy was able to fit in/transition with ease.

From start to finish, working with 74 Events was an absolute dream. The owner, Gary, was incredibly professional and responsive from our very first inquiry. 74 Events did a fantastic job from beginning to end at our wedding. Gary and DJ Daniel were very organized, responsive, but also made the experience fun. I appreciated their guidance when we were stuck on a few decisions. Many of our friends complimented the music and I noticed the dance floor was busy the whole time. I heard a funny anecdote that the lady working the coat check was a bit grumpy until the music started playing, and then she couldn't stop vibing and grooving. From the first call with Gary, I knew we were in good hands. In fact, out of all vendors we worked with and spoke to throughout the wedding planning process, Gary & our DJ James Arnold made us feel heard, prepared and extremely taken care of. using 74 Events for our wedding day was a no brainer after we did our research! gary, the owner, is incredibly responsive and organized. music was our number one priority on our wedding day and gary really heard us on this. we were able to make all of the selections we wanted using the worksheet that is provided, and my husband and i had soooo much fun filling out the worksheet together. we would treat it like a date night and just get lost in all of the music we couldn't wait to hear on our wedding day :) we selected Aaron McMickle as our DJ, and i'm so happy we did! he KILLED it! the party was nonstop, no one wanted to leave the dancefloor which was our main goal. he was able to read the room and the flow of the music throughout the night was just perfect. hire 74 Events for your wedding day, you will not regret it. We worked with Gary and Preston for our wedding in Brooklyn and they were both outstanding. Gary helped with the planning and logistics, and Preston was an incredible DJ. We had an unusual request for introducing the wedding party, and Preston went above and beyond to fulfill it. He collaborated closely with us to ensure the pacing of the night was perfect for all of our guests, regardless of age. We provided a playlist of a few songs that we wanted played throughout the night and asked him to expand on that list. He did so while maintaining the spirit of the playlist we had put together. Preston has a great ear and chose songs that everyone loved. He kept an eye on the crowd and made adjustments to ensure everyone was having a great time.

74 Events exceeded our expectations! Our guests had an absolute blast dancing, the music was everything we wanted and requested. James is an amazing DJ and Gary is incredibly professional, kind and responsive.

From the beginning to the end, Preston was the consummate professional and a master of his craft. My husband and I interviewed several DJs for our wedding and we were pretty much immediately sold after our initial call with Preston. He was an absolute delight to speak with, had experience with our venue, and understood our vision and priorities. Throughout the process leading up to our wedding both Preston and Gary were incredibly responsive and available to handle any questions we had and were clear with all of their instructions for us. He also handled a special request by one of our toasters. As for the event itself, our wedding was lit! The energy was high and the dance floor was bumping. We had a very diverse wedding and Preston was a master at reading the room. From ceremony, cocktail hour, MCing the reception, to starting the dance party, Preston performance was topnotch. Our wedding ended afterhours with a crowded dancefloor of our guests begging for one more song. Preston graciously obliged. Our experience with Preston was excellent. We highly recommend him. It was an absolute pleasure to work with 74 Events and DJ Daniel for our October wedding. From our initial outreach call, Gary was incredibly professional and easy to work with. He was very clear about his approach to matching DJs with couples, shared insights into how the next few months would work in terms of soliciting our input on music tastes and preferences, and described all supporting logistics around day of prep and execution. He listened and absorbed information to truly understand us as a couple. From there, we had a conversation with our potential DJ, Daniel, who similarly listened intently to our requests, understood our tastes and styles, and offered up invaluable suggestions for what would work well for our cocktail hour and reception playlists. As the big day approached, Gary and Daniel were very intentional in confirming final considerations from equipment set up, the overall wedding flow, and tweaks to music preferences to best match the vibes of the evening, which made us feel so comfortable and ready for our event. Gary also shared super helpful information around speaking into a microphone, which we passed along to all of our speakers. Day of, Daniel promptly arrived and set up our ceremony mics. From cocktail hour onward, the music carried our evening seamlessly from cocktail hour through reception. We were thrilled to hear and to dance to so many songs that we requested, as well as those that Daniel perfectly picked to complement our tastes. Our guests celebrated his praises for what was really an unforgettable party. Daniel’s demeanor throughout the day was also calm, fun, adaptable, and engaging and we feel so lucky that he was part of our special day. Would 10/10 recommend 74 Events and Daniel DJ to everyone.

Preston and Gary were great to work with! My partner and I got married earlier this month and overall we were so glad we chose 74 Events. My partner is very picky when it comes to music but also listens to all genres of music so we really wanted a DJ who was familiar with a wide variety of genres. We gave general vibes for each part of the night and Preston did a great job with going with that throughout the night. For dinner, we wanted to do a deep cut of 90's alternative rock and he really crushed that. All throughout dinner, we had people coming up to ask us who was in charge of music because they loved it so much!

Duane absolutely crushed it. We received so many compliments about our DJ and the dance floor stayed packed all night. As for Gary, we were blown away by the professionalism, thoroughness, and kindness shown throughout the entire planning process. Made us feel so confident and excited in the weeks leading up to the wedding.

From the initial planning call to our final meeting, 74 Events was very professional and made the music portion of our wedding planning so much easier. Pricing was very fair, and we had Daniel from our ceremony, to cocktail hour, all the way through until the end of our reception. The songs that we did not personally select were great, and we felt Daniel really did a wonderful job incorporating what we had listed as our musical style with the overall vibe of the dance floor the night of the wedding. There was also a slight snag in the order of events during the reception, which Daniel handled seamlessly with his announcements. The dance floor had people on it the entire evening, and we had such an amazing time! He was even gracious enough to allow us one more encore song at the end of the night after our closer song, which was definitely one of our favorite memories of the whole day.

74 Events made our wedding such a special day. They were on it from the first call: asked great questions and laid out all the planning elements we'd need to succeed. They worked great with our coordinator to handle logistics, from COIs to load-in and out, and were super helpful with AV for the ceremony. To start the process, we worked with Gary - the owner of 74 Events. Gary is extremely kind, professional and organized. He immediately made us feel confident that 74 Events would deliver on an amazing musical and MC experience, regardless of the DJ that was assigned to our event. We were fortunate enough to be assigned Joel (AKA LordEasy). We can’t sing Joel’s praises enough. Joel flawlessly executed his duties. Every song was started and stopped at the perfect time (like for our recessional and entrance) and he seamlessly made the event flow by instructing guests on when it was time for the first dance/toasts/etc.. With past meetings and a brief questionnaire, Joel was able to perfectly identify our musical preferences and had a set list that kept the dance full ALL NIGHT. It was as if he had our own playlists. We’re a week out from our wedding and our guests keep talking about how fun the dance floor was. We can’t recommend 74 Events, Gary, and Joel enough. They will ensure you have the best day ever. We are so grateful for them.

I can’t say enough positive things about Preston. He was the DJ at our wedding in the Prospect Park Boat House and he was amazing. My wife and I have pretty eclectic but also particular musical taste so I’m sure we gave him a lot of mixed/confusing direction. Somehow, out of all that, he was able to narrow in on exactly what we were looking for and delivered. He also managed to work in special requests for Persian music seamlessly. He was patient with our family members’ incessant requests (they all loved him) but never let that override our vision. Perhaps the most amazing thing was Preston got our whole wedding dancing inside an unairconditioned venue on a humid 90 degree day in Brooklyn. That’s some kind of magic! If you’re looking one less thing to worry about for your wedding you can safely go with Preston and check that off your list!

74 events was the best decisions I made for my wedding. From the first email on Gary and the team were extremely professional and just had everything buttoned up. Ben Carlin was our DJ and he brought the HEAT! Many guests told us post-wedding that the music was epic. The hits didn't stop all night (exactly what we asked for). Maybe more importantly, I was a pretty stressed out bride but there was something about Ben’s cool, calm, collected-self that really made me feel at ease.
