A Bitter Orange is a professional photography company based out of Portland, OR. We are passionate, inquisitive, silly, personable, and professional. We will document your joy and your unique bond as a couple in an authentic and honest way.
Our philosophy is to connect with the emotions of each moment and capture them through our lens in the most non-intrusive way. No two weddings are alike; every photo we capture and deliver is hand-edited with love and careful attention to detail. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, ability, sexual orientation, or gender expression; love is love, and we want to capture your story.
The team at A Bitter Orange can capture the special memories created at local and destination weddings. We can document a variety of photoshoots, from portraits to day-after sessions and engagement shoots. Some of our services include second shooter availability, printed proofs, wedding albums, and an online gallery of carefully edited images.

Alex and Roberto are not only very skilled and take beautiful photographs, they are lovely to work with and have a knack for depicting a couple’s personality and that of their loved ones. Our wedding was slightly off-beat but they were game and frankly blended right in with our guests — to the point that my husband and I were just glad to have them at our wedding, photographers or not!

swer any and all questions I had. She sent me example galleries of similar weddings to mine so I could get an even better feel of their work. Leading up to the wedding, she checked in a few times to make sure we were both on the same page with timelines and such. She gave me great advice but also was flexible with my wishes as well.
On the big day, they showed up right on time to start photos. I had a slight delay, but they took that time to scope out the land and take some great detail shots. I was very nervous about posing and they really helped make my husband and I feel so comfortable. They captured my day so perfectly from us as the couple to family and friends tearing it up on the dance floor to small detail shots. They have the perfect amount of presence where they are there for you when you need them, but also just effortlessly blend in. Everything was edited to perfection and photos were delivered in a timely manner. So fun getting to have a little sneak peek the next day in the airport before we headed to our honeymoon!

I come from a large family with 9 siblings, so every family portrait distorts into a “herding cats” situation where at least one kid looks maimed, upset, and/or ugly. But not with them! They were the first professional photographers to capture beautiful family portraits, candid shots, AND fantastic scenery of Wisconsin. In terms of affordability, holy cow, they are incredibly well-priced! In fact, they may be underpaid for the work they delivered. Oh, and they travel, too!
