Ashley was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend hiring her for a unique touch at your wedding reception or cocktail hour (or any party for that matter!)! We met her when she was a vendor at a friend’s wedding. We loved the poem she wrote us so we wanted her for our wedding too! She was kind, thoughtful, responsive, and so easy to work with throughout the whole planning process. She also is an incredibly talented poet. Everyone raved about the poems she wrote! It is so special that our guests got to leave with something so meaningful and tailored to them. Several friends have already sent me photos of their poems framed in their homes. My photographer also used the poem she wrote us in our flat lay detail photographs because the poems were such a special part of the evening. Highly recommend hiring Ashley!
My partner and I recently hired Ashley to write poems for our guests as a wedding favor, and it was everyone's favorite part of the evening (ours included)! Ashley is the only person who could upstage not one, but TWO brides, and have everyone leave happy. Ashley has a remarkable talent for quickly but meaningfully connecting with people and beautifully capturing their experiences. Hi, there! I’m Ashley. I started writing prose poetry for strangers in 2016, doing most of my early work at farmer’s markets. I love mid century style (vibes, not values!) and I collect typewriters from this era.
Weddings found me - in that I started getting asked to perform at them rather than seeking them out myself. I’m choosing to lean into that! Weddings are a bright spot in people’s’ lives, and I like to help them celebrate. What could be better than commemorating the events and people at a really great party?
