A Catered Affair with Connie

There is a reason there hasn’t been a review made for this catering company since 2019… I only make this post to give insight to my experience during my wedding, not to sway people’s decision. At first, Connie was kind and inviting. She responded frequently and was very professional. Plus her taste test was so juicy and amazing tasting. After we signed the contract I feel like the effort, communication and professionalism began to dwindle. A month before the wedding we were ask if we had plates for our event. Unfortunately, Connie did not discuss plates with us or the need for plates until that moment. It honestly would have been helpful if that was a discussion during our initial meeting and contract signing. Conversations leading up to this were about how her company supplies everything (plates are not specific on the contract which was also on us) but the language used made it seem like plates were included. This added an additional $300 charge that we weren’t expecting so close to the wedding. Additionally, our venue allowed for a catering table both inside and outside the venue. When outside the catering table is prominent in ceremony photos so it is best if the table is inside for the ceremony. However, to promote dancing, having the table set up outside after the ceremony is best. After many discussion Connie agree to make this transition during our cocktail hour. Frustratingly, she refused to make the change once she set up and did it without a discussion with myself or my husband. After spending $3500, and timing the set up to about 15 minutes, it was frustrating that she could not fulfill her verbal agreement and needs for the bride and groom. We were even comfortable with her taking away employees from cocktail hour for a little bit of time to transition the tables to the outside. Once dinner and service started (still inside the venue against the agreement) the chicken and pork were dry and the seasoning wasn’t as flavorful. Plus, once the last guest filled up their plate they packed everything up. I hadn’t even fished my plate before all the food was put away. Several guest attempted to go up for seconds because there was tons of food left and it was already gone. Unfortunately, we did not receive any of the left overs even though we had payed for it. Connie means well and was sweet, but I fell like she added a lot of headaches for me and my now husband along the way and created some frustration the day of our wedding which wasn’t fun to have. Overall I wish the food tasted like it did during our initial tasting.
