A women-owned, women-led small business, A Connection is an Iselin, NJ, wedding & event planning company with almost half a decade of experience in the wedding planning industry. A Connection offers tailored packages to couples looking for wedding planners & day-of coordinators for their big day. While based out of central NJ, we offer services worldwide and take pride in specializing in South Asian wedding events. In the past 5 years, A Connection has planned & hosted over 30 events in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania & Chicago. For 2024, we have hosted 8 events already and have booked 10 more to start with.

Founded by owner & CEO Abha Desai in November of 2019, A Connection was established with the hopes of forging connections with and between clients, vendors, and colleagues in the industry as well as members of her community. For years, Abha dreamt of sharing her creative approach to event design with the world and after finding success in the entreprenurial world, she decided to take the leap and start the business. She believes that making connections is one of the most important parts of her role as a wedding planner. From connecting couples with like-minded vendors to curating experiences that bring people together, connection is a constant in everything she does. Her business name, A Connection, celebrates this belief, as she is one individual responsible for helping so many people connect and collaborate!
Running the business alongside Abha is her partner, Rohini Brahmbhatt, who joined the industry officially in early 2024 after earning experience in event management and planning for over 10 years. Raised with the motto "In the Joy of Others Lies Our Own," Rohini enjoys exemplifying acts of service through wedding planning, which she believes helps to forge real connections with couples, their families & friends. What started off as an application of her talent for a side hustle has very quickly turned into a life-changing opportunity and passion!

With so many moving parts and a large guest list, things could have easily felt overwhelming, but Abha and Rohini handled every detail with such grace, care, and precision that the entire experience felt seamless.
They were always one step ahead—anticipating needs, solving problems before they arose, and keeping everything on track without ever missing a beat. Beyond their flawless execution, what truly stood out was their warmth and energy. They showed up every day with positivity, patience, and genuine care, making our entire family feel supported throughout the process.
Each event flowed beautifully, and we received endless compliments from guests about how organized, smooth, and stunning everything was. Most importantly, they created an environment where my brother and now sister-in-law could be fully present and enjoy every moment—that’s something we’ll always be grateful for.

iendly, approachable, and really made us feel at ease. She jumped in seamlessly for day-of coordination at all of our wedding events, clearly having done her research well ahead of time. We can't emphasize enough how smooth the whole process was thanks to Rohini's help. She really took "go above and beyond" to heart and knew all the right questions to ask, which vendors to reach out to, what rituals to be aware of, who from our families and friends to check in with - it felt like she'd been part of the planning process the entire time! When I got nauseous from heat right before haldi, she was at my room door in less than 2 minutes with electrolytes and cold water (which helped instantly!). When I needed a quick touch-up before my bridal entry, she was there with the perfect lipstick shade. When it rained on our wedding day, she was up at the mandap along with other family and friends holding towels over us. When our microphones and speakers went out because of the rain, she was on stage with our photo list calling groups up before guests started leaving. unlike other coordinators we talked to it was kind straight to the “What’s your budget question” where as in here they gave us tips and suggestions we didn’t even know we needed and this is before we signed any contract. After that they took care of pretty much every detail you could think of, made every little thing happen just as we wanted. I think if you’re looking to hire wedding planners there is literally no one better but don’t expect nothing less to be treated as family. Rohini I really felt like treated my like her little brother and made sure that I was doing everything I needed to even when I was procrastinating. She literally made multiple runs to the dollar store to get whatever I needed for my entrance!
