I offer a fully personalized wedding dance experience and I am excited to introduce you and your future spouse/partner to the world of dance. I will be your guide from your first dance steps together to the "Big Show" on your Wedding Day. I teach out of several locations in Midtown Manhattan and Williamsburg Brooklyn. Both private room and regular shared ballroom studio available. I am also available for at-home lessons or by Zoom.

I have lived in NYC for over 12 years now and devoted my life to my passion; dancing, teaching and performing. I'm originally from Finland, where I started dancing (HipHop, Street Dance, Jazz) at an early age, later adding Ballroom and Latin dancing to my repertoire and competing both nationally and Internationally and representing the National Team and winning numerous titles in Ballroom and Latin dancing.
Since relocating to NYC I have worked at the largest Ballroom Dance studio in Manhattan and quickly became top teachers and head of the wedding dance department, teaching countless wedding couples alongside regular group classes and private lessons.
I am as passionate about teaching dance as I am about dancing. I love sharing my passion and knowledge for dancing to top level dancers as well as to people of all ages, walks of life and even those who think they have two left feet ;-)
As we know planning a wedding can get stressful at times, but the common feedback from my couples have been that learning to dance was the most fun part of the wedding planning. I want you to look and feel comfortable dancing at your wedding. I will customize your dance by taking into consideration your song choice, your own vision, wishes and your personalities to give you the best wedding dance experience, whether you desire a more low key dance or a fully choreographed showstopper.

Owner
We are professional ballroom/latin dancers, originally from Scandinavia. We both started dancing and competing at an early age and have been fortunate to have a successful competetive career.
A common thread in our lives has been to help people improve in many aspects of life, working as a caregiver, physical therapist, personal trainer. This combined with our passion for dancing naturally led us on the path of teaching people of all ages and abilities to dance. So now with over 25 years of teaching and guiding over 1,500 wedding couples we are looking forward to dancing with you aswell.

Nina was great! She helped us nail a beginner friendly dance in just three sessions. We were so impressed and are so happy we chose to work with her. What a great experience! We would definitely recommend to any nyc couples :)

Nina is absolutely amazing, and we cannot recommend her enough! She made us feel genuinely excited about learning our wedding dance. She is incredibly patient and took the time to really get to know us and what we wanted for our dance. She’s great at breaking things down and making it fun and easy to learn. Nina made every lesson completely pressure-free, always listening us and adjusting to fit what we were looking for. She cheered us on throughout and made us feel confident, not just for our first dance but for dancing together overall!

After just 2 lessons with Nina she had us prepared with a custom choreography for our wedding dance. Even though we had no prior dance experience, Nina was extremely supportive and patient with us, ensuring we got each move down before progressing. She worked with us to come up with a choreography that suited our style and ability, giving us the confidence to deliver on our big day. We crushed our wedding dance, all thanks to Nina!

Nina is awesome! She is super professional and gave us the confidence we needed to succeed in our first dance. She is extremely patient, especially with beginner level dancers and her teaching style is very accommodating and we always felt comfortable with her. We could not have done it without her!

We had such an amazing experience with Nina. She had so much patience with my wife and I as we are by no means anywhere close to being dancers. But from the start, we trusted Nina and she came up with a beautiful routine that catered to our strengths and what we wanted. We were really amazed by Nina's knowledge and professionalism. We asked for so many tweaks to the routine throughout the process and she was able to seamlessly integrated all of our requests. Our first dance was beautiful and we owe it all to Nina. We couldn't have been happier with our experience and would 10/10 recommend.

Nina was an amazing dance instructor to work with. My husband and I wanted a memorable first dance at our wedding, but are not dancers by any means. Nina completely understood our vision and crafted an easy-to-learn first dance that looked stunning. Our lessons with Nina were fun - she is a joy to work with and always presented multiple options for each phase in the dance. I would highly recommend working with Nina for your first dance or parent/child dances at your wedding!

Nina was an absolute joy to work with while we crafted our first dance. Neither my husband nor I are natural dancers, but with Nina’s patience and guidance, we were able to create something truly special. She helped us choreograph a fun surprise where our wedding party jumped in at the end. Nina also worked her magic to blend two songs together seamlessly. Her availability was super flexible, and the location was convenient, which made the whole experience stress free. Those dance lessons became some of our favorite memories leading up to the wedding. We can’t recommend Nina highly enough—she turned what could have been a stressful part of wedding planning into something fun and memorable!

Working with Nina was an absolute dream! I did 3 lessons with my husband and 4 lessons with my dad in preparation for my wedding. Both dances were such a hit. Nina was great at creating different dances that really embodied what we were looking for! She was flexible, patient, and all around fun to work with! Highly highly recommend!

Robert helped us prepare for our first dance at our wedding. Neither of us are dancers, but Robert made us feel so comfortable and at ease. He truly listened to what we were looking for and planned choreography exactly to our level. The dance was a big success! Would definitely recommend!

My wife and I decided that we wanted to do some dance lessons to learn a routine for our first dance at our wedding, and we were so lucky to find Robert. He’s extremely organized and prompt, which made setting up our lessons simple. At first, we had decided to sign up for two lessons, but after the first lesson, we both enjoyed it so much that we immediately contacted Robert to sign up for a third.
When setting up our first lesson, we told Robert what song we were planning to use for our first dance, and by the time we arrived at the studio for our first lesson, he had already choreographed a routine tailored to our song. He walked us through the routine step by step and was able to make changes on the fly if we ran into any issues with timing or felt like there was a move that we weren’t comfortable with. Robert is incredibly talented, patient, and encouraging, and he filled us with confidence leading into our wedding!
Thanks to Robert’s lessons, my wife and I both agree that our first dance was one of our absolute favorite memories from our wedding day. Robert is an absolute gem, and we couldn’t recommend him enough for dance lessons.

Nina was so amazing to work with!! We did 3 lessons with her for our first dance at our wedding and we felt so excited and confident for our wedding day! She broke everything down for us, listened to what we liked/did not like, and was so supportive! She was so patient with us and really made learning so easy. Working with Nina was the most fun part of wedding preparation. It was a great opportunity to learn something new and laugh a bit in the middle of all the other steps that go into a wedding. Nina took our song and built up a choreography that we could handle as inexperienced dancers. After a few lessons we were comfortable
enough to try a lift, and it worked! The dance surprised everyone, including ourselves!

Nina has been my principal dance instructor for nearly a decade. I have probably had 50 dance instructors over the past 25 years (often stopping in for a lesson when I travel). But I have stayed with Nina, instructor extraordinaire, because she’s simply the best, in virtue of her patience, precision, understanding of what the student can do, and gauge of just how far to extend the student to “the next step” to keep the experience fun. I have recommended Nina to friends at different levels and all have regarded her as expert a teacher as I do. Although I started ballroom dance from square one with Nina, I am now very confident dancing with anyone on a few of them, and am always working on something new.

Our dance at the wedding was a series, a typical first dance, a group dance with friends, and another couple dance with another song. Nina helped us with the first dance and third dance, and also helped us design the transition between each of the songs. I have so much good things to say about Nina. She is patient, detail-oriented, and knows exactly how to teach. The choreography was also the exact right level of difficulty that we can handle (we both had zero experience dancing…) while looking so elegant and beautiful. Plus, we chose songs that were in a foreign language that Nina did not speak. She would ask us the meaning of the lyrics so she can design the movements accordingly. She also helped us edit the music so smoothly!
Nina brings so much fun to us, and we enjoyed every class we had with her, making dancing classes definitely the top two fun things in our wedding prep (the other being cake tasting). It was so nice to have Nina be our instructor!

Learning our dance was an absolute highlight of the often stressful wedding planning process. It was a good way to learn a new skill and just laugh together once a week— Robert made our lessons so fun and something to look forward to! Our guests were IN AWE at our moves on the big day, especially since we hid it from EVERYONE!

Our wedding was unconventional is many ways and in the best ways to us.
Robert is one of my long time friends and my husband Michael and I wanted him to be a part of our wedding. Unconventional maybe but not only did he walk me down the aisle but he was also part of our wedding dance as he danced part of the song with me.
Our wedding dance song was “Nothing else matters” by Metallica, I wanted it to be simple yet elegant and Robert put together a perfect choreography and I had so much fun learning it and I felt comfortable and beautiful dancing it.
