I offer a fully personalized wedding dance experience and I am excited to introduce you and your future spouse/partner to the world of dance. I will be your guide from your first dance steps together to the "Big Show" on your Wedding Day. I teach out of several locations in Midtown Manhattan and Williamsburg Brooklyn. Both private room and regular shared ballroom studio available. I am also available for at-home lessons or by Zoom. Hi there! I'm originally from Finland, where I started dancing (HipHop, Street Dance, Jazz) at an early age, later adding Ballroom and Latin dancing to my repertoire and competing both nationally and Internationally and representing the National Team and winning numerous titles in Ballroom and Latin dancing. Since relocating to NYC I have worked at the largest Ballroom Dance studio in Manhattan and quickly became top teachers and head of the wedding dance department, teaching countless wedding couples alongside regular group classes and private lessons. I am as passionate about teaching dance as I am about dancing. I love sharing my passion and knowledge for dancing to top level dancers as well as to people of all ages, walks of life and even those who think they have two left feet ;-) As we know planning a wedding can get stressful at times, but the common feedback from my couples have been that learning to dance was the most fun part of the wedding planning. I want you to look and feel comfortable dancing at your wedding. I will customize your dance by taking into consideration your song choice, your own vision, wishes and your personalities to give you the best wedding dance experience, whether you desire a more low key dance or a fully choreographed showstopper. My name is Nina and I am the founder and owner of "A Dance To Remember". I am a Professional Ballroom & Latin dancer, originally from Finland. I started dancing and competing at an early age and have been fortunate to have had a successful competitive dance career. Now I focus full-time on teaching dance and I love combining my love for love and my passion for dance to helping engaged couples preparing for their wedding dance. ally thought: go big or go home) and Nina choreo-ed an impressive (yet not too difficult) dance for us with multiple lifts! Nina is a very collaborative instructor - she took the time to understand our story, our vision and ideas for the First Dance before we started on the choreo. Our song was a mash-up of two different Disney songs and Nina had so many great ideas that worked well with our song. She's also very open to hearing our alternative ideas or concerns (e.g. taking the dress length into consideration, the brick flooring since our wedding was half outdoors)... Instead of looking at the dance rehearsals as a wedding errand, we really enjoyed our dance classes with Nina so much that we were looking forward to learn and dance with each other every week. We still watch our First Dance video and get amazed that we managed to pull off such an intricate looking dance - we really couldn't have done it without Nina!

She helped us choreograph a first dance that felt completely natural to us as a couple while still being polished, confident, and memorable. Nina also played a major role in creating a meaningful and thoughtfully designed mother–son dance. She came to every lesson with multiple creative ideas and carefully tailored each session to what felt right for us, making the process both fun and rewarding and staying late to practice the mother-son dance. On our wedding day, so many guests approached us after both dances asking how we learned those moves and how we pulled everything off, which was entirely thanks to Nina’s tireless work, patience, and encouragement. dance, and also helped us design the transition between each of the songs. I have so much good things to say about Nina. She is patient, detail-oriented, and knows exactly how to teach. The choreography was also the exact right level of difficulty that we can handle (we both had zero experience dancing…) while looking so elegant and beautiful. Plus, we chose songs that were in a foreign language that Nina did not speak. She would ask us the meaning of the lyrics so she can design the movements accordingly. She also helped us edit the music so smoothly! Nina brings so much fun to us, and we enjoyed every class we had with her, making dancing classes definitely the top two fun things in our wedding prep (the other being cake tasting). It was so nice to have Nina be our instructor!
