A Fit of Perfection Alterations

Gerri was an absolute dream to work with. When I bought my dress from Lace Bridal, they recommended her as their go-to seamstress...I now know why! I was a little hesitant to drive an hour for 5 fittings over the course of 9 months, but it was so worth it. Gerri is an absolute sweetheart and made me feel so comfortable. My dress was very delicate in the back, so I was nervous to have anything done to it. With Gerri's extensive experience in alterations and designing custom bridal gowns, I knew she was the person to trust. She was so helpful in offering suggestions that wouldn't take away from the look of the dress, but would make me feel comfortable the day-of, and that meant the world to me. Another thing that I think is incredibly important to mention is her safety throughout the pandemic. A lot of my fittings were during this time and she was incredibly careful and followed all safety protocols, making me and my family feel safe. She books out far in advance, so if you're looking for an experienced and affordable seamstress, book her as soon as you buy your dress!

Gerri is AMAZING. There is no better way to describe her and her work. My mom and I were skeptical at the prospect of driving an hour to Dayton for six fittings leading up to my big day, but it was worth it. She is so kind and wants to make sure you feel comfortable in your dress. She offers suggestions of how it should fit, look, and feel but ultimately wants you to be okay with it all. Gerri even ended up altering my rehearsal dinner dress at the last minute as well. She is very reasonably priced and knows so much about wedding dress alterations. She even made last minute adjustments while I was there during my final fitting. She is very careful about COVID-19 and wants to make sure everyone stays safe and healthy. Gerri is 100% worth the drive and I would recommend her to anyone!

Gerri is the sweetest woman alive, and the best at her job! There is no better way to describe her alterations than perfection. She had me come in for a few extra appointments just to ensure that the dress fit exactly how I wanted it to. She described everything she did throughout the process, and she made sure that I was comfortable with the alterations being done every step of the way. She even had to creat custom pieces for the back of my dress because I kept complaining about how it fell off of my shoulders. Even though she couldn’t alter the dress to stop slipping off my shoulders, she found a way to fix it through the custom pieces from the extra trim of my gown. She’s the nicest and most affordable person to work with!

Gerri is AMAZING!! She works magic and doesn't quit until you are 100% satisfied with the look and fit of your dress. I ended up with 7 total appointments, and my dress ended up fitting perfectly. I only had scheduled 3 fittings before the wedding, but Gerri made sure to fit me in for more fittings before the wedding to make sure that everything was perfect. Gerri knows what she is doing, and she will make you feel so comfortable and confident in her ability to make you feel like a princess on your wedding day!

They are fairly priced, and easy to work with. I had a last minute change and they fixed it for me without jabbing to make me come back for another fitting. Easy going and very professional. I loved my dress by the time they were done. Highly recommend.

Gerri did an awesome job fitting my dress. When I first picked it up from the place I purchased it, I was super nervous because it wasn't fitting at all like the sample did when they had it pinned to me, but within 2 visits Gerri had completely changed it to something that was comfortable and fit me. She was more than willing to change anything I asked and I had it ready to go a few days before the wedding.

Gerri really worked a miracle on my dress! She put in so much work and I don't know how she did it but it ended up being a perfect fit! There was never any doubt in my mind that she would make it work. Awesome job!

First of all I will say my dress was done for wedding, but i was not by any means 100% happy with it. I brought my dress to Gerri about 5 months in advance yet the dress wasn’t finished until THE DAY BEFORE My wedding. I had 8 dress fittings and Gerri could not figure out how to make the dress fit. I wish that after the 3rd time hearing her say “I just don’t know what to do” or “the dress just isn’t reacting how I want” I would have gone elsewhere. I left most the appointments crying in the car because the dress was a mess and half the time she had completed NOTHING. I am a trusting person and was nothing but nice to Gerri, and she kept promising me it would be done. I was disappointed every time. Yes my dress fit ok. Did anyone else notice issues with it? No. She is a determined lady and won’t let you walk down the aisle with nothing, but save yourself the stress and anxiety and go somewhere else.

Gerri did my wedding dress alterations. My dress had two pieces and a lot of intricate beading and lace, it was very big on me when it came in. Gerri was wonderful through the entire process. My dress was completely transformed and fit me perfectly. Thank you, Gerri!

I scheduled 5 initial alterations with Gerri, despite very few changes needing to be made to my dress. Each visit very little was done, and she reassured me that everything would be completed closer to the actual wedding day because brides tend to lose weight. She then scheduled 2 additional alterations, equaling a total of 7 visits, each ranging from $75-200 a visit. Mind you I had very basic alterations that should have taken maybe 2-3 visits. My final visit Gerri finally started making all of the changes, including fitting my bust. I am a B-C cup with a typical shape. The strapless dress was puckering and Gerri could not figure out how to fix it. Her suggestion was that it was as good as it could be and to deal with it. My mother offered an alternate solution and Gerri mentioned she would, but she DIDN'T HAVE A SEWING MACHINE. Her solution was to take my dress home and have me drive an hour north where she has a sewing machine the day before my wedding. Instead, my bridesmaid drove home for a portable sewing machine and we waited for 5 1/2 hours while she worked on other clients, eventually getting to my dress. We had an absolutely horrible experience and would NEVER recommend this seamstress. Do yourself, your wallet, and your nerves a favor and go elsewhere.

PERFECTIONS IS RIGHT! I couldn't imagine trusting anyone else with my dress. It was quite a challenge with lots of intricate lace and beadwork, but I trusted Gerri 110%. She was very meticulous and attentive to what I wanted and how I wanted my dress to fit. She never faltered, and always went above and beyond to make it perfect. Up until the very last minute, she was hard at work and always made me feel like a priority. Despite the fact that she was incredibly busy, which she never complained about once, every single appointment was punctual and she took her time listening to my wants and needs. In the end, my dress looked like it was made for MY body from head to toe. She truly made me feel so wonderful the entire process and my gown was perfect at the end of the long process. As brides, we tend to sometimes realize that we can be demanding, and with all the last minute tasks we have to do, brides may lose weight or change a little bit. But Gerri is there until the very last second to make sure brides feel like the best version of themselves on their special day. She's truly a gem and an artist!!

Gerri was working on my dress until the day before my wedding and it still wasn't done. I had tried it on 5-6 times before over 2-3 months and when I came to try it on the last time, she was still working on it . Not very reassuring when your wedding is less than 24 hrs away

it was very easy to find my gown and the staff was very attentive and polite
