I have already contacted AJ's to try to resolve this as I don't think I should have paid full price for poor service, but per usual with them.. no communication. That was my first...
red flag.. I never actually poke to anyone in person. They insisted that I go through the "accounts manager" who was difficult to get a hold of.
I was concerned but since I was 1 week until my wedding, I just made my itinerary as simple and easy to follow, with highlighted songs, times, names, lists, a DO NOT PLAY list.. the whole works... It was still not good.
Here were a few of the biggest issues;
1. He thought he was playing ceremony music, which was never discussed or in the contract.
2. He had a completely different wedding itinerary. Thankfully he confirmed our names prior to announcing the wedding party, which is when we realized that our wedding was not what was prepared for. Luckily I had an extra copy of my music and MC announcements.
3. He insisted on "clean" music. Even well into the night. I understand early in the evening, but as an adult wedding I am certain we could have handled some colorful language, which discouraged some of the guests from requesting music.
4. Without adequate time to prepare for our wedding music, he struggled with "finding the grove" with everyone. On my list I clearly stated no Polka and no choreographed music, which both were played. I think he kept getting my music list, and the other party he prepared for mixed up.
5. Mechanical issues.. many times there were two songs being played at once. He had to restart songs multiple times.
Chris was good, but there was a huge miscommunication between him and whoever manages accounts. This was very disappointing for us. I put a lot of time and effort and tried to make things as easy as possible to understand.
I do not recommend, I would not hire them again, and I would discourage anyone from hiring them.. This was so important to me and I was so saddened by the whole situation. This is the most important day of these people's lives and to make this big of a error is unacceptable. As well as your equipment not working properly.. 2/10 at least they showed up I guess.
If you want a terrible experience, rude emails, and crying before you walk down the aisle at your own wedding hire this guy. Was 2 1/2 hours late. 10/10 don’t recommend hiring this...

Easy to work with and very reassuring throughout the whole process. Had great recommendations when unsure of song choices or how things would run. Our DJ kept the dance floor jammi...

If you’re looking for a Dj pick someone else! I guess what they say is true you get what you pay for. Horrible and just rude service from the start with communication. You have to ...
do more accommodations for them then they are willing to do for you. They still use CDs, the speaker system kept cutting in and out. No one was on the dance floor you’d think after the second or third song the Dj would get the hint that the music they’re playing isn’t working and to switch it up. Nope just kept playing the music he liked and wasn’t dancing music . It was quite embarrassing our guest kept coming up to us asking “where we found this guy he’s horrible”. The cherry on top was the Dj said a different name for the bride when introducing them!! We even shut our own wedding down early and went to the bar because we couldn’t take it anymore. I honestly could go on about how you shouldn’t go with this service.
In response to the previous review from BH.
I personally was at this wedding. I’m not writing this to side with either party (as I am their acquaintance),but to set the facts as t...
hey were just to be fair.
Mic fade during the ceremony. It actually wasn’t fading at all. I think it was wind noise. It was very windy that day and it caused a bit of wind interference along with the officiant not holding the mic to his mouth as he would turn his head and continue talking while the mic was still in the same place as before he turned.
Mics cutting out during dinner speeches. Yes, they were but I don’t believe it was anything the Dj could have remedied as he was clear across to the other side of the venue and around a bit of a curve. I would assume it was bad placement of the head table in conjunction with the Dj booth. I also noticed the speeches were coming over the house speaker system. So was it really the Djs ? Or the house ?
I did not hear any member of the wedding party get their name “butchered” during the grand march. There was a place where the Dj hesitated between one of the groomsmens first and last name as I think the list may have fallen from the Djs hands or lost his place on the page. But there was no mispronunciation, I really thought there was going to be, but there wasn’t. It was just a slight hesitation. And might I add that he did apologize for that.
Going forward from that point I really didn’t give much thought to anything else that was going on as it seemed to me like everything was going just fine. Music sounded good with a good variety. When the Dj spoke over his system the mics sounded great.
So after all that’s been said, I personally thought this was a very nice wedding. I would give 2 thumbs up
If you’re looking for a DJ for your wedding, PICK SOMEONE ELSE!
My contract with AJay’s had them providing the sound for my ceremony and I had double-checked to make sure that the...
y had microphones that we could use. Ajay’s assured me that they had microphones, however, the microphones that they had us use were terrible. Right away in my ceremony, the microphone kept going in and out as my officiant was speaking, and this continued throughout the whole ceremony. I was hoping that maybe it didn’t sound that bad to my guests, but after the ceremony I asked a few people and the sound was terrible everywhere.
The microphone problems continued into the speeches during dinner. They kept crackling and getting super staticky and then finally, when we were on our fourth and final speaker, the DJ finally did swap our mic… but it didn’t help. This was super frustrating to me because I had asked AJay’s if they had microphones and I assumed (incorrectly) that they would work well.
The next problem we ran into was during our grand march. The DJs did not ask for a list of the bridal party to announce them as they walked in, but I had created this list for them WITH the phonetic pronunciation of several of their names. When the DJ came to talk with me just before we started, all he wanted to check was to make sure we were in the same order that I provided; he never asked for clarification on anyone’s names, so I assumed he was ready to go. Then as he was calling out names, he completely BUTCHERED one of my friend’s names. For a company that promotes the idea that the DJs all have been doing this for a very long time and as their full time jobs… this seemed like a rookie mistake.
The awkwardness continued throughout the evening. The DJ never said anything over the mics after the grand march except to announce the first dance and then the bouquet toss. There was no trying to hype anyone up and nothing to really get people to come to the dance floor… again, this was disappointing.
The songs that the DJ chose to play were also not that great to dance to. He did play some of the artists I requested (but not all of them!) and most of the songs he played were throwbacks to the 90s and early 2000s. These are great songs for everyone to sing along with… but very hard to dance to. Several of my guests did mention this too, saying, “It’s just hard to dance to these, I feel like I’m in a constant state of waiting for a good dance song to come along,” but the good dance songs were few and far between.
Another thing that my DJ did that I felt like was super unprofessional was to come and let my husband and I know in the middle of our event that we still owed them money (by the way, they only take cash or money orders for your second half of your payment so you cannot pay them in advance). To be asked in front of guests was incredibly rude and very unprofessional in my opinion.
Our final issue on our wedding day was that the DJ started cleaning up prior to our contracted time. Our dance floor was never packed and in fact, by about 11 almost no one was dancing at all. One of my guests even told me that they thought the DJ was “purposefully playing the songs he was as a way to tell people that the event was ending and to get out.” As a result of that, even though I had a contract with them to play until midnight, the DJ started cleaning up just before 11:30!!
Take my advice, don't pick AJay's for your event. You'll thank yourself later.
Absolutely horrible! Music choice and speaker quality was bottom of the barrel. When songs were requested he could barely look up from the game he was playing on his cell phone t...
o acknowledge you and was extremely RUDE! Due to the poor choice in music he was playing when I requested a song he looked at me and said "does it look like I care". When the father of the groom asked him why he wasn't playing the requested songs his response was " I have 40 minutes left I don't five a F*CK". Please do yourself a favor and never hire him!
Our dj was everything we asked for! everyone had a blast and didnt want to stop dancing! They really delivered

When it comes to wedding, ...
the DJ is sometimes the main event of the night and A Jay's DJ service definitely was the hype of our night. He played genre appropriate music for the elderly and younger children. He also played great clubbing music for the rest of us. I made an error when it came to songs for the father daughter dance and A Jay quickly fixed my mistake and came up with the perfect song for my dad and I to dance to :). A Jay will be very upfront with you about prices. He made some great suggestions that saved me about $600. If you're looking for an affordable and honest DJ, A Jay is the dj to hire. Thank you again A Jay. - Pang and Dakota

My daughter's wedding was a blast thanks to A Jay's Disc Jockey Service. A Jay has performed for many other family functions and has always done an outstanding job. Even though, he happens to be part of my relation, A Jays outgoing and fun loving personality shines in his work and it is evident that he loves what he does. His experience and ability to read the crowd and play great music is what makes the event memorable. His range of music is also amazing. He has the standards but also variety. People danced the entire time he performed from start to finish. The reception was a huge success thanks to A Jay. Also, this service is extremely professional and affordable. A Jay also gave us many helpful tips, that I would not have thought of. I believe that the other DJ's he employs are handpicked to match his style. I would recommend his services to anyone for whatever the occasion. Thanks A Jay!!!!!!!

I thought that he played a great variety of songs that everyone could enjoy. I was happy that my few requests could be played as well. I liked how the kids were really into the music, and it eventually brought the adults on the dance floor. I always love when everyone gets together and does the cha cha slide and dances together. Playing Led Zeppelin right at the end of the night was a perfect ending for me! I really enjoyed AJ and would recommend his services to anyone! He cared about what we really wanted listened!! Can't beat the price either! I was very pleased with our experience!

This year marked the second year we used A Jay's DJ Service for our Homecoming Dance. Our DJ was again top of the line. Very professional, open to requests from our students, and had them happily dancing all night! The students were very happy with the music variety - and we all know that high school students are hard to please. 5 stars from us!
They were awful! It was several years back but it sure still sticks in my head! They sent a kid who was all of about 19 ( who also brought a girlfriend he was more concerned with a...
ll night than his job ) All the kid knew how to do was push play on the cd otherwise I heard not one word from him which means no involvement in the grand march, garter or bouquet throw etc. He did NOTHING but sit there talking with his gf and play songs. And our song, the main song for our dance, the cd SKIPPED so after that happening 3 times he gave up. It was ridiculous. Then when I called to explain how unsatisfied I was they were crappy and rude with me. I got a good laugh from reading their current website where they compare themselves to the other "guys" because in my experience they fit under the other "guys" category better than the other one! To this day people will still comment how much our DJ sucked when talking about our wedding. Don't waste your money on them!
Overall, he did great. Some minor issues. Played the wrong song at first for the father daughter dance, started the correct song halfway through. I specifically requested no polka ...
and he played 2 songs. Also, he only uses cds, so if you have non-traditional music for anything you have to burn it onto a CD yourself.
We booked A-Jays almost a year in advance for our wedding. This business was very unprofessional, but had a good price. On the day of our wedding we were informed that the service ...
was subcontracted out to another service. The other service was an older couple who were very rusty and had not done a wedding in some time. The service wanted to set up during our dinner and did not want to start as early as we wanted them to. I would NOT recommend this business to anyone. We called to complain and the business had nothing to say. They just asked if anyone danced at our wedding. Luckily we hang out with fun people who make the best of the situation. The wrong song was even played for our parents dance. DO NOT GO WITH A-JAYS!

nded song list and a do not play list and he stuck with what we wanted and what was keeping everyone dancing. He did not talk much on the microphone, but he didn't have too since everyone was so busy dancing! I would recommend him.
