Eric came to the wedding with his working shoes on - he was incredibly engaged and ahead of schedule the entire day. Instead of coming to me with questions as I was getting ready, he came to me with solutions and updated me on the process of his work.
Not only did he act as our day-of-coordinator, he also acted as our florist last minute! I had put my mother in charge of arranging our DIY florals from Costco, and Eric immediately saw that the situation required a professional hand. He arranged everything in the most beautiful way, and we received compliments on the flowers and greenery all night.
My only regret with working with Eric, as I told him, is that I didn't hire him for the entire wedding weekend! I can't recommend him enough - THANK YOU Eric!!

e examining every detail to excruciatingly annoying levels, then once I had the contract set I was good to go. That meant I was a very chill bride when it came to the day. My fiancé was the opposite, no interest in details until the WEEK OF the wedding! I'm any case, Modern Romance handled everything beautifully. Our wedding was in key west at ft. Zach and my input and planning everything was done from states away.
When we first spoke with Modern Romance ten months before our date, we gave an idea of what we wanted and let them run with it. I was able to change any details before agreeing to a contract and everything was very transparent and easy to understand. If I didn't understand anything (before AND after the wedding!), or if my loving-but-insanely-large family had questions, they were answered promptly. I loved being able to email, text, or call any time. Even when something wasn't urgent, I would receive a near-immediate response (even when they were at other events!). When plans changed, they rolled with it. When the guest count split, they rolled with it - they contacted vendors and altered contracts and tut-tutted with us. When my fiancé decided he wanted to do a sword fight last minute, they arranged it. When we were late on the playlist, they got it to the dj the day before. When we flip flopped on desserts for months, they were patient.
When I sent them to help my fiancé choose attire, they were able to get the notion across that wearing a button down Hawaiian shirt was NOT going to happen. The entire team was also prepared to be extremely hands on and attentive the week of...
In addition to implementing all those little details (and adding more that fit seamlessly and elevated everything, like gold bamboo chairs!), the team had plans for things I would never have thought of. They planned for hot grandparents and changing dresses, they had first aid and cool water, blotting sheets and anything else you could think of. The entire team was malleable to any suggestion and they communicated changes to each other seamlessly, even on the day of!
When I told them to just arrange the entire reception layout how they thought it would work and look best, voila! They did, and it was amazing (although I know they would have executed a detailed layout if I'd asked, down to the tiniest detail!). When my now-husband and I wanted to keep enjoying cocktail hour, they changed the timing of our entrance and the schedule accordingly.
Did things go wrong?
Yes, but I had no idea. Everything was taken care of and corrected to the plan. For example....The cutting cake my fiancé ordered didn't get made. Did I find out that day?Nope. Did we have a cutting cake?Yep. Was it our theme?Yep. Same bakery?Yep. Flavor?Yep.
If I could start over knowing what I know now I would hire them again in an instant.Were there details I would change about the wedding itself? Probably not.It's been several months and I'm still impressed.

We booked Modern Romance for planning AND day of. Packages are clearly laid out on their website and in calls before we hired them, but YES they won't book a vendor without your signature on each contract.You also can't be passive with them planning only part of the wedding..?That would need EXTRA input to be seamless.

We only likely gave very vague instructions but Eric’s taste is impeccable and he and the team delivered a beautiful ceremony/ reception, not to mention a great party where my husband and I never felt anxious or overwhelmed or stressed. We also ran into issues with our pre wedding reception event but Eric helped us sort this even though he didn’t have to which was a great help. Overall, Eric and the team made us feel relaxed / at ease during the entire process. Truly one of the best days / nights of my life and we / our friends still talk about how fun it was! From making recommendations for vendors, to answering any questions we had about planning and services, and helping to organize a brunch sail for the day after our wedding. His response time was always extremely fast, and as we got closer to the wedding he was in contact with us about every detail of our day. He saved us from hiring a certain DJ down there and made a recommendation for an amazing alternative. 2 days before our wedding we had an issue with our videographer, who bailed on us last minute. As soon as Eric found out about this he stepped into action, finding us someone the day before our ceremony. He was professional, courteous, and kind. You can tell that he loves what he does and has amazing rapport with other vendors in the area. y would like to take on the role as the "woman in charge" to ensure everything is perfect. I can say (without a doubt) that I wouldn't have had the perfect day without A Modern Romance. I was always the one that had the final say on every last detail, but having Eric ( my wedding planner) there made it all seamless. Every detail of the wedding was exactly what I wanted because he did his part to make sure sure the day was special and truly us. My groom was very "hands off" for the planing but still spent the entire wedding talking about how fabulous Eric and his assistants were. I spent 6 months talking to Eric daily and he was always the sweetest, most accommodating person I've ever met. Now that our wedding is over, I'm a little sad that I won't have his positivity on a daily basis. Eric was very responsive (which as a new bride, is so refreshing!) helpful, professional and pleasant. It was like having a friend there making sure every detail you want happens seamlessly! Eric is a warm person who you will instantly connect with. His taste is impeccable and he needs VERY little direction on décor, because he is creative and a visionary. The month-of he put together a great packet for all vendors, which was a relief as a bride, to know that it’s all together and organized. Eric is creative and adds his special touches to the bridal couple’s vision of the event, which is comfortably collaborative for all involved and budget appropriate. He is well respected by the local vendors and, consequently, knows how to seamlessly coordinate all of the moving parts that are involved in a destination wedding. In our family’s case, we hosted a three-day celebration at Southernmost House for 100 people with multiple events. It was beyond the call of duty, but he was tireless and unflappable in coordinating all of the events at the scene. He is open to new ideas and always diplomatic in his interaction with everyone. We particularly appreciated his responsiveness to our calls and emails during the planning stage. As a consequence of his tactful guidance and helpful suggestions throughout the entire process, the celebration was lovely and stress-free. We received many compliments from guests about how organized the entire weekend was and how much fun they had, but our family is well aware of Eric’s many contributions to our success. As soon as we spoke with Eric, the stress of planning a wedding 1800 miles away quickly dissappeared. If we had an issue or a question, Eric took care of it. He made himself available for anything we needed from coordinating day- of services to finding my grandmother a wheelchair for the weekend.
