I was lucky enough to find Eric on The Knot for our 110 person wedding in North Georgia. I am so, so happy that I did because Eric was THE most important person at the wedding (oth...
er than my groom of course!)
Eric came to the wedding with his working shoes on - he was incredibly engaged and ahead of schedule the entire day. Instead of coming to me with questions as I was getting ready, he came to me with solutions and updated me on the process of his work.
Not only did he act as our day-of-coordinator, he also acted as our florist last minute! I had put my mother in charge of arranging our DIY florals from Costco, and Eric immediately saw that the situation required a professional hand. He arranged everything in the most beautiful way, and we received compliments on the flowers and greenery all night.
My only regret with working with Eric, as I told him, is that I didn't hire him for the entire wedding weekend! I can't recommend him enough - THANK YOU Eric!!
I was referred to Modern Romance (Eric and team) by another wedding planner located in Miami, and WOW.
Our day was perfect. I'm quite meticulous; my planning style turned out to b...
e examining every detail to excruciatingly annoying levels, then once I had the contract set I was good to go. That meant I was a very chill bride when it came to the day. My fiancé was the opposite, no interest in details until the WEEK OF the wedding! I'm any case, Modern Romance handled everything beautifully. Our wedding was in key west at ft. Zach and my input and planning everything was done from states away.
When we first spoke with Modern Romance ten months before our date, we gave an idea of what we wanted and let them run with it. I was able to change any details before agreeing to a contract and everything was very transparent and easy to understand. If I didn't understand anything (before AND after the wedding!), or if my loving-but-insanely-large family had questions, they were answered promptly. I loved being able to email, text, or call any time. Even when something wasn't urgent, I would receive a near-immediate response (even when they were at other events!). When plans changed, they rolled with it. When the guest count split, they rolled with it - they contacted vendors and altered contracts and tut-tutted with us. When my fiancé decided he wanted to do a sword fight last minute, they arranged it. When we were late on the playlist, they got it to the dj the day before. When we flip flopped on desserts for months, they were patient.
When I sent them to help my fiancé choose attire, they were able to get the notion across that wearing a button down Hawaiian shirt was NOT going to happen. The entire team was also prepared to be extremely hands on and attentive the week of...
In addition to implementing all those little details (and adding more that fit seamlessly and elevated everything, like gold bamboo chairs!), the team had plans for things I would never have thought of. They planned for hot grandparents and changing dresses, they had first aid and cool water, blotting sheets and anything else you could think of. The entire team was malleable to any suggestion and they communicated changes to each other seamlessly, even on the day of!
When I told them to just arrange the entire reception layout how they thought it would work and look best, voila! They did, and it was amazing (although I know they would have executed a detailed layout if I'd asked, down to the tiniest detail!). When my now-husband and I wanted to keep enjoying cocktail hour, they changed the timing of our entrance and the schedule accordingly.
Did things go wrong?
Yes, but I had no idea. Everything was taken care of and corrected to the plan. For example....The cutting cake my fiancé ordered didn't get made. Did I find out that day?Nope. Did we have a cutting cake?Yep. Was it our theme?Yep. Same bakery?Yep. Flavor?Yep.
If I could start over knowing what I know now I would hire them again in an instant. Were there details I would change about the wedding itself? Probably not. It's been several months and I'm still impressed.

We booked Modern Romance for planning AND day of. Packages are clearly laid out on their website and in calls before we hired them, but YES they won't book a vendor without your signature on each contract. You also can't be passive with them planning only part of the wedding..?That would need EXTRA input to be seamless.
We had a small last minute wedding and it was more beautiful than I could’ve ever imagined. Every detail was handled, we were able to enjoy our guests, and everything was absolutel...
y stunning. Truly, they are experts in their field.
I highly recommend Eric and the team at AMR and have nothing but rave things to say about them! We had to plan our entire wedding remotely (it was a destination wedding and so we c...
ouldn’t travel to the venue beforehand) so had to rely on Eric to make recs about things like catering, flowers, plates and decor. We only likely gave very vague instructions but Eric’s taste is impeccable and he and the team delivered a beautiful ceremony/ reception, not to mention a great party where my husband and I never felt anxious or overwhelmed or stressed. We also ran into issues with our pre wedding reception event but Eric helped us sort this even though he didn’t have to which was a great help. Overall, Eric and the team made us feel relaxed / at ease during the entire process. Truly one of the best days / nights of my life and we / our friends still talk about how fun it was! Thank you Eric and AMR!
Eric is phenomenal! He ensured that we were able to have all of our needs met for our special day. He works well with what you ask for and ensures that the vendors meet your standa...
rds and will negotiate for your desired price range. On the eve of our wedding, a curfew was announced and we had to move everything 3 hours earlier and he had everyone on speed dial for the last minute adjustments. I 100% recommend A Modern Romance.
Eric and team were absolutely AMAZING for our destination wedding in Key West in December 2017. From our first conversation, he made us feel like his only clients!! He gave us the ...
royal treatment when we came down for trials of everything and the wedding itself was flawless thanks to his expertise and relationships with all of the vendors. Most importantly, Eric was so much FUN to work with and truly became an important part of our day!!! We will always contact him when we are in Key West as a friend and the best wedding planner ever!!! Do yourself a favor and hire him!!! You will have the best experience and best day :)
Having a wedding planned for 2020 came with a whole host of additional challenges and, for us, it included cancelling fully. Eric kept us grounded, sane and supported. He knows wha...
t’s important about a wedding (the couple and their love) and he uses his years of experience to make anything you need to happen, happen. Eric listened as we made tough choices and supported us along the way. He’s a shining light in this business and truly the best decision we made in this planning process. He’s creative, bold and willing to share creative ideas to make your day truly yours. I cannot recommend him highly enough. A great person who shares his passion for events from the heart. 50/10 (is that an appropriate rating?!) ... it is for Eric!
Professional, funny, hardworking and easy to work with
So helpful and responsive. All his suggestions were lovely and the vendors he helped us pick and secure were amazing as well. Our wedding turned out better than imagined!

ol and I trusted him implicitly. As the bride, I would give everything to my maid of honor and Eric quickly went to her and took everything off of her hands and allowed her to enjoy the day and drink and dance! I could not recommend Eric more, hire him!!

ng process. We hired him for day of coordination services at our wedding however he went above and beyond from day one. From making recommendations for vendors, to answering any questions we had about planning and services, and helping to organize a brunch sail for the day after our wedding. His response time was always extremely fast, and as we got closer to the wedding he was in contact with us about every detail of our day. He saved us from hiring a certain DJ down there and made a recommendation for an amazing alternative. 2 days before our wedding we had an issue with our videographer, who bailed on us last minute. As soon as Eric found out about this he stepped into action, finding us someone the day before our ceremony. He was professional, courteous, and kind. You can tell that he loves what he does and has amazing rapport with other vendors in the area. Everyone in our wedding party commented on just how great he was and our wedding was flawless from start to finish! If I had to do my wedding 20 times over, I would book his services every time!
Seriously the very best experience! It doesn’t rain in Key West, but it did. A Modern Romance kicked into high gear, cancelled the outdoor venue, secured a tent, decorated, etc. ...
I thought the evening would be shattered. It turned out better than planned! An exceptional team!!!
If you want the best wedding planner ever, look no further. Modern Romance was more then my husband and I could ever ask for. We didn’t know much about planning a wedding when we b...
egan the process, but Eric and his team walked us through each step and made everything easy and fun, especially on the big day. His team made our wedding day the best and most exciting day of our lives.
Even when a hurricane wiped out our entire venue, Eric didn’t miss a beat, and he made the transition to a new venue as painless as possible.
Any time we were confused about anything, he took the time to call us and explain everything clearly and to give us options on how to proceed.
I can’t thank Eric and his team enough. They gave us a moment we will treasure forever. Thanks!

Eric made having a destination wedding so easy and stress free. Everything turned out better than imagined and we were so incredibly happy on our wedding day!

expert and was a joy to work with. The weekend of our wedding, him and his team (Brittany!!!) took care of EVERYTHING, so that all we had to do was enjoy our magical time with family and friends. We give him 10 out of 5 stars and would hire him again in a heartbeat. Hire him now for a great wedding planning (and life) experience!!!
Amazing, amazing, amazing!
I cannot thank Eric, Brittany, and Brooke enough for all they did for my husband and I on our wedding day. FL weather is tricky, and luck would have it ...
that our wedding day was rainy and incredibly windy. Brittany and Brooke went ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure that our day went off as well as it possibly could despite the weather conditions. They truly kept me calm and no request was too much to accommodate. They are the epitome of professionals and I could not have imagined our day going as smoothly and as a beautifully as it did without them.
I HIGHLY recommend A Modern Romance. I cannot rave enough about them.
We cannot say enough great things about Eric, Katie, Brittney, and staff with A Modern Romance!! They worked with me leading up to the wedding day even though I had only paid for "...
day of coordinator". On the wedding day there was rain all day for our outside ceremony, they went above and beyond to move everything from the Plan B spot back to the original last minute when we got a break from the rain! They are exceptional and you will not be disappointed

agical Southernmost House. Eric's attention to detail, timeline, mindfulness of our budget, passion for weddings, and knowledge of the local vendors are a few reasons why he is so spectacular. Eric was always willing to talk about any questions or concerns my husband and I may be encountering. His calm demeanor, positive outlook, and experience are truly second to none. He is organized, informative, and always willing and excited to help the bride(s) or groom(s) achieve their dream wedding. He is excited to help you experience any type of wedding you are looking to have. However, he is also willing to share his honest professional opinion when you need to make difficult decisions. Eric Baker loves what he does and it radiates through his work and how he speaks with his clients. After speaking with him, planning, making decisions, and getting to know each other, I can honestly say that not only is he a true professional, but also a genuinely good person. Eric wants your wedding day, or in our case, wedding weekend to be the best day ever. Wedding planning is not just a job for him, it's his passion. I remember the first phone conference we had was on a Sunday, typically a day people take a break from working. I thanked him for speaking with me for over an hour and he said to me, "I love wedding planning, and when you love what you do it never feels like work".
I highly recommend Eric Baker and his superior team at A Modern Romance to any couple looking to plan a wedding. The quality of service and quickness to respond to our every question or concern made our planning experience very enjoyable and our wedding day truly magical!!
Thank you A Modern Romance, you are the BEST!
All the best,
Amanda Ruggiero (Reid) & Brian Reid
A Modern Romance was the best decision I made for our wedding. Deciding whether or not to have someone help you along the way can be a difficult decision. A lot of brides think the...
y would like to take on the role as the "woman in charge" to ensure everything is perfect. I can say (without a doubt) that I wouldn't have had the perfect day without A Modern Romance. I was always the one that had the final say on every last detail, but having Eric ( my wedding planner) there made it all seamless. Every detail of the wedding was exactly what I wanted because he did his part to make sure sure the day was special and truly us. My groom was very "hands off" for the planing but still spent the entire wedding talking about how fabulous Eric and his assistants were. I spent 6 months talking to Eric daily and he was always the sweetest, most accommodating person I've ever met. Now that our wedding is over, I'm a little sad that I won't have his positivity on a daily basis. He (and all the staff at A Modern Romance) are a breath of fresh air- and as a bride, that's EXACTLY what you need.

day. You can count on Eric to handle any issues that arise as he went above and beyond to take care of a vendor issue. We can not thank him enough and you would be missing out not choosing him for your wedding event.
Eric is the absolute best! No matter what size your wedding is big or small he is the right person for you! Eric truly cares and it shows in his work. We had a destination wedding ...
in Key West, size of 74 people. We hired "A Modern Romance" for a Day Of Wedding Planner and I'm so thankful we did! Eric was very responsive (which as a new bride, is so refreshing!) helpful, professional and pleasant. It was like having a friend there making sure every detail you want happens seamlessly! He was worth every penny and I definitely can not say that about all our vendors. I spoke with several wedding planners in southeast FL and I found Eric to be the most courteous and flexible. He put a package together to meet our needs and budget and then provided us excellent service from then on. From one bride to another, Eric is the best decision hands down!
Was very kind and helpful.

ails that can quickly become overwhelming. Eric Baker was great in helping the grooms with all of the last minute details. Whatever the need he was there to provide it, including a last minute hair spray purchase and a candy treat that he had promised the flower girl! He was cool and calm and all things good.

vices for any event I host. Most people I interviewed with in Key West wanted to charge me for a phone call, email, advice, etc. which I thought was crazy (I know some brides take advantage of this). Eric is a warm person who you will instantly connect with. His taste is impeccable and he needs VERY little direction on décor, because he is creative and a visionary. His recommendations on other vendors were on point- loved them all. The month-of he put together a great packet for all vendors, which was a relief as a bride, to know that it’s all together and organized. The day-of he was extraordinary, I felt like I had someone handling every little thing for me so I could really enjoy my wedding. Most of the blogs you read, tell you, you don’t have time to eat, you don’t have time together, etc. etc. but with Eric handling it all, you HAVE the time to appreciate your wedding day. Everyone complimented me on how calm I was the day of, well that’s because I knew I had the best wedding coordinator around.
Based on our experience (as parents of the bride), Eric Baker of A Modern Romance must certainly be the top wedding consultant in Key West. For those planning a wedding long-distan...
ce, Eric is the one to hire, particularly if you plan on enjoying your own celebration. Eric is creative and adds his special touches to the bridal couple’s vision of the event, which is comfortably collaborative for all involved and budget appropriate. He is well respected by the local vendors and, consequently, knows how to seamlessly coordinate all of the moving parts that are involved in a destination wedding. In our family’s case, we hosted a three-day celebration at Southernmost House for 100 people with multiple events. It was beyond the call of duty, but he was tireless and unflappable in coordinating all of the events at the scene. He is open to new ideas and always diplomatic in his interaction with everyone. We particularly appreciated his responsiveness to our calls and emails during the planning stage. As a consequence of his tactful guidance and helpful suggestions throughout the entire process, the celebration was lovely and stress-free. We received many compliments from guests about how organized the entire weekend was and how much fun they had, but our family is well aware of Eric’s many contributions to our success. We would highly recommend that the bride and groom confirm Eric’s availability before booking either the venue or date for the wedding.
I could not - in ANY way - be happier with Eric Baker and the A Modern Romance team than I am right now!!!! My wedding was only 4 days ago so my memories are startlingly fresh, and...
A Modern Romance made the dream in my head a reality. They charge a PERCENT of your budget, no matter how low or high your budget is, so it's affordable for literally everyone. If you have a normal-girl-next-door budget and want a magazine-cover-fabulous wedding, you need A Modern Romance. AND I can tell you right now brides, wedding planning is INSANELY less stressful with a wedding coordinator!! Eric was worth his weight in gold only a week into the planning process. And my wedding...it was a true fairy tale!! THANK YOU A MODERN ROMANCE! I am one happy bride!!
While researching a destination wedding in Key West, we came across Eric Baker and A Modern Romance. We did not utilize a wedding planner at first because of financial factors, but...
when we decided we needed a little help, Eric proved to be the ultimate partner in planning our dream wedding.
As soon as we spoke with Eric, the stress of planning a wedding 1800 miles away quickly dissappeared. If we had an issue or a question, Eric took care of it. He made himself available for anything we needed from coordinating day- of services to finding my grandmother a wheelchair for the weekend.
Eric not only helped make our day (or week for that matter) amazing, but he also quickly became a friend. We will continue to recommend A Modern Romance to anyone who plans on having their special day in South Florida!
one word: AMAZING!
amazing night!!
