A Perfect Wedding Dance

all first started we were very nervous and unsure how the end result would be but by the end we all felt confident and excited to show off our dances. Kim is so encouraging and energetic through the whole process. She builds each couple up and creates dances that work for each individual couple. Kim really choreographs and creates dances that are unique to each couple and their relationship and I could really see that with the end result for each of my dances. Our dances turned out amazing on the wedding day and I could not recommend hiring Kim enough. Dance lessons with Kim was both mine and my finance’s favorite part of preparing for our wedding.

For our destination wedding in Cancun, we reached out to her literally 10 days before flying out (yes, we were those people). And Kim? She said let’s go. We met with her practically every day before the trip. She created a completely custom dance from scratch, tailored to our personalities, abilities, and music choice—and somehow made us look like pros on the big day. Waltz-inspired, romantic, elegant—it was chef’s kiss. Our guests were floored. But it wasn’t just the dance. Kim sees you. She immediately assessed where my fiancé and I were at and met us with so much grace, creativity, and encouragement. She made us feel like stars and like friends at the same time. Saying goodbye after the wedding actually made us sad—it felt like we were parting with family. Luckily, we had a grand 400-person reception to prepare for with a completely different dress to consider, and the moment we knew we’d need a second dance, we reached back out. This time, it was a more upbeat, swing-inspired routine—still custom, still fabulous. Because Kim already knew how we moved, we jumped right in. And even though we only started rehearsing a few weeks before the big event (again, those people 🤣), she pulled it off seamlessly. She even built in lifts (my husband lifts weights, so we had some fun there 💪), and choreographed something that was so us. Kim is a genius at what she does. She’s not just creative—she’s thorough, compassionate, and tailors every session to how you and your partner learn. She’s thoughtful with both leads and follows, and strategizes ways to help you remember moves more easily. Also, she’s got this superpower where she can read your face and know if something’s off before you even say it. 😂 Oops. Working with her was always a blast. She’s inspiring, imaginative, and deeply invested in her couples. She truly became one of our favorite parts of the wedding journey—and trust me, this won’t be the last she sees of us. We definitely plan to take more lessons. I would recommend Kim to everyone. Even if you’re out of state—fly in. Zoom in. Teleport. Whatever it takes. She’s that good. SHE'S A DIAMOND!

a tough song, one with no lyrics and neither of us had previous dance experience. She worked so hard for us and made this happen! During practices she was very patient with us and we always had so much fun at her studio. She took videos during our practice so we could practice more at home with a clear direction. Every time we showed up she would have more ideas for us and she would even watch our practice videos on her own time to make sure everything was coming together. She did an incredible job at showing off our strengths while hiding our weaknesses as dancers. Our wedding guests were blown away by our final performance! The memories we have in her studio in the final weeks before our wedding are my favorite memories and I will cherish them forever. For my wife and I, she put together a dance for the song “Cough Syrup” by Young The Giant, which is one of our favorite songs but is also a bit long. We were able to incorporate several different dance styles into one and the end result was so fun! At the end, Kim also coached on how to add a little flair to my walk down the aisle!
