From the moment we drove through the gates of A Private Estate, we were completely swept away. We had our hearts set on getting married in the Hudson Valley and toured several venues, but many felt too close to the road, you could still hear cars and trucks passing by. The moment we stepped onto A Private Estate, everything changed. It felt completely secluded, peaceful, and genuinely magical. We knew almost immediately that we had found our wedding venue.
The property itself is breathtaking. The estate is expansive, with beautifully manicured lawns, a gorgeous pond, and incredible views overlooking the Hudson River. Everywhere you look feels picturesque, yet the property still has this intimate, romantic quality that made it feel like our own private world for the weekend. Our guests were absolutely in awe.
When we first toured the property, we met Jack, the groundskeeper, who was incredibly kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Throughout the planning process, we also really appreciated that A Private Estate has trusted vendors and professionals they regularly work with. Planning a wedding involves so many decisions, and having recommendations for people who already know the property and can be relied upon made the process so much easier.
One of the things that made the experience especially memorable was being able to stay right on the property. We rented the Holcroft Mansion, which is available as an option for couples, and staying there truly helped set the tone for the entire weekend. There was something so special about waking up on our wedding day already surrounded by the beauty and peacefulness of the estate. It made the whole experience feel immersive from beginning to end.
There is also a beautiful carriage house on the property that can accommodate a large group, and the morning after our wedding, we hosted our farewell brunch in the barn. Being able to gather with our closest family and friends one more time in such a beautiful setting was the perfect way to end the weekend.
We also loved that despite feeling so private and secluded, the estate is only about a 20-minute drive from Hudson, where most of our guests stayed. It gave us the best of both worlds, our wedding felt like this completely private escape, while our guests were still close to all of the hotels, restaurants, and charm of Hudson.
A Private Estate is truly a dream wedding venue. It gave us the sense of privacy, beauty, romance, and magic we had been searching for, and seeing our guests experience that same feeling made it even more special. It is the kind of place that leaves an impression from the moment you arrive.
We cannot recommend A Private Estate highly enough. It gave us a wedding experience we will never forget and a setting that felt almost too beautiful to be real. If you want a Hudson Valley wedding that feels completely transportive and leaves your guests in awe, this is the place.

Every detail is thought of and the guests had an amazing time! We loved the barn for our reception and felt so taken care of the whole time!
